I've been fascinated by the new Almay Shadow Softies since I first posted pics of the display back in the beginning of November. Well I finally picked up the two shades I wanted the most (a matte and a shimmer) and today I'd like to share my thoughts with you. There are 12 shades in this range (six "mattes" and six "metallics") and you can see what the display looks like here.

Spotted: NEW Almay Shadow Softies by i-Color Whipped Eye Shadow Collection

For years I have been hoping that Revlon would take just a little bit of its fabulousness and spread it around to Almay (Revlon owns Almay, in case you didn't know). Because, let's face it, some of Almay's core line has been feeling a bit stale and dated for the past few years.

Things all seemed to change for the better with the release of the Almay Liquid Lip Balms back in May (which I still need to review--I love them!) and was I hoping that wasn't just a fluke. Well I'm happy to say that things are continuing to look up in Almay-land! They've just released a completely new, interesting line of whipped shadows available in some gorgeous (and bold...for Almay) shades in both matte and metallic finishes!

A huge thanks to my lovely Canadian beauty blogging pal Halifax of Sparkled Beauty for this one! I didn't even know about these until she told me about them, but I found this video by Almay:

There's also a Rite Aid Video Values coupon available for $3 off any Almay Smart Shade cosmetic here. If you're new to Video Values, you do need to register, and all you have to do is watch a brief video to gain access to the coupon.

As you know, you can stack Rite Aid Video Values coupons with manufacturer's coupons, so let's break this down.

Here's a scenario:

Let's say you want to try a couple Almay Smart Shade blushes. For the purposes of this scenario, let's say those blushes retail for $9.99 each at Rite Aid (I'm guessing here). Full retail price for two of those blushes would be $19.98. After the 40% off sale, your price drops to $11.99 for two blushes. New Almay Smart Shade Powder Blushes (pics and swatches)

Longtime photo contributor Jess spotted some new Almay blushes at Kmart recently and shared some pics of the items she purchased.

In addition to these blushes, Jess spotted a new Almay Smart Shade whipped/mousse foundation as well that she said looks like the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation. This comes as no surprise to me, since Revlon owns Almay and many of their face products look similar (remember these hydrating powders?). In fact, just today I showed you this new Revlon foundation, which look very much like the older Almay Nearly Naked foundation (they even have the same name).

I just spotted this new Almay display at CVS and wanted to share. They've added new products to the Wake Up line, and some of them look very promising!

Review: New Almay Intense I-Color Shadow Stick for Hazel Eyes

I purchased this product a few weeks ago when CVS was having a good sale and, to be perfectly honest with you, I wasn't expecting much. First of all, the color combos in this range are, well, kind of boring (work-friendly for sure) and I actually had a difficult time choosing a combo that made me feel excited enough to run home and try it. I finally settled on the For Hazel Eyes stick, which contains a brown shade on one end and a pink shade on the other. Since I have hazel eyes, I figured I couldn't go wrong.

So let's see how this worked for me!
