Permanent e.l.f. display at CVS

If you missed my previous posts about the permanent e.l.f. displays that are now popping up at CVS, let me catch you up to speed. These displays first started popping up at various CVS locations in the fall of 2014. But just recently, many of you reported seeing this permanent display at other CVS locations, so I'm guessing that this is becoming more widespread than it was last year.

Over the past few weeks, I've heard from several of you who have seen existing brands' displays (such as Milani or NYC) replaced by this new e.l.f. display. So let me tell you what I know so far...

Spotted: NYC Spring 2015 Limited Edition Makeup Your Spring Collection (PS: the Blushable Creme Sticks are Back!)

I've got some VERY exciting news for you today, if you are still mourning the loss of the NYC Blushable Creme Sticks (discontinued in early 2012). If you're a longtime reader of this blog, then you know that I LOVED the Blushable Creme Sticks and I was so sad to see them go (I wasn't the only one who loved them--they have an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars over on Makeup Alley).

So when reader @macah0lick on Instagram told me that some Blushable Creme Sticks are in the new NYC Spring 2015 collection, I just couldn't believe it! Luckily, she also shared lots of great pics with us, so you can see for youself. Take a look!

Oh, and in case you missed the announcment back in September, Demi Lovato is the first-ever Global Brand Amabassador for NYC. I think this is the first display we've seen her on so far--please correct me if I'm wrong!

Spotted: NEW NYC New York Color Smooch Proof Liquid Lip Stains (and More)

In addition to the new NYC products that I've shown you over the past few months, there are MANY other new, permanent products surfacing in stores right now. Spotted: NEW NYC New York Color Expert Last Satin Matte Lipsticks and Lip Lacquers

Brand new lip color lines from NYC! Can you feel me swooning through your computer/laptop/tablet/phone screen right now?

If you're a longtime reader of this blog, then you know that I adore any and all NYC lip colors, so I'm grateful to reader Brittany (@bblois on Instagram) for this one. Brittany spotted not one, but TWO new lip colors lines in a new NYC display at CVS this week, and shared tons of pics with us. Take a look (but fair warning: I won't be held responsible for any spontaneous drooling).

My Halloween 2014 Manicure (So Easy, Even I Can Do It!)

At the start of each holiday season, I always have these grandiose plans to recreate really cute holiday-themed manicures that I see from my fellow bloggers. I have nothing but the best intentions, and for this Halloween I even chose a design that I felt pretty confident about recreating (oh how I love that patchwork/color-block manicure!).

But that's when reality steps in, slaps me (gently) in the face and says: "G., you know you don't have time for that, right? And if you try to do it quickly, you'll mess it up...like you always do."

Yes, reality, I know. This time of year is always hectic and my poor digits don't get the time they deserve.

But I still need a cute manicure for Halloween.

What to do? What to do?

Spotted: NYC Halloween 2014 Limited Edition Midnight Beauty Collection

The annual NYC Halloween collection has landed at CVS! And talk about perfect timing. NYC is B2G1FREE at CVS this week (now through 9/27), so now we've got TWO limited edition collections to choose from (don't forget about the NYC Fall 2014 Fashion Queen Collection that's also popping up right now). And if you don't live near a CVS, hopefully you'll be able to find these collections at your local Rite Aid and Kmart locations soon (if you haven't spotted them there already).

Many thanks to reader DeWanna (@msluckydee13 on Instagram) for this one! DeWanna spotted the brand new NYC Fashsion Queen Collection at her local Kmart this week and was nice enough to share some pics and info with us.

NOTE: Kmart seems to be getting various limited edition collections from NYC, Wet n Wild and Rimmel ahead of other retailers lately, so if you have a Kmart in your area, it's definitely worth a trip! I would expect this new NYC collection to start popping up at other retailers like Rite Aid and CVS within the next few weeks.

Since my review of this collection a few weeks ago, some of you have been asking if anyone has seen it in stores. So I thought I'd let you know it has officially landed! I found the display at my local Rite Aid today and I added pics of the display to my original post (spoiler: there are coupons!).

Swatches & First Impressions: NYC Summer 2014 Limited Edition City Samba Collection

The Summer 2014 Limited Edition City Samba Collection by NYC is scheduled to hit drugstores this month. If you haven't seen in at your local Rite Aid, Kmart or CVS yet, keep checking--it should be landing any minute now!

I received the entire collection for review recently. Since there are several items in this collection, I thought I'd share swatches and first impressions so that you'll be ready to grab what you want as soon as you spot the display! Let's take a look...

NYC Spring 2014 Limited Edition City Bloom Collection: Swatches and First Impressions

I purchased a few of the NYC Spring 2014 Limited Edition City Bloom Collection products the other day at Rite Aid, so I thought I would share some initial thoughts and also some swatches with you today!

NOTE: I added lots of additional photos and info to my post HERE of the entire collection, if you want a better look at everything this collection has to offer (everything in this collection is limited edition with the exception of the mascara, which is from the permanent line).

(UPDATED) New NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Bronzed Pink

NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Bronzed Pink

UPDATED: The Color Wheel above, called Bronzed Pink, is a new-for-2014 permanent shade. I could only find two reviews of it online here and here (both written in February of this year) so this appears to be new-for-2014 and you can see that it's listed on the NYC website here, which means it's definitely permanent. 

Thanks to reader Sarah R. for confirming that this is NOT the same Color Wheel that is in the NYC Limited Edition City Bloom Collection. The Color Wheel in the City Bloom Collection is called Spring Petals and it is limited edition. Sarah said that Spring Petals has more of a peach/coral color to it, and reader Lane confirmed that Bronzed Pink (pictured above) is more of a bronze color in person.

Aaaah, springtime. The pastels are out in full-force again for Spring 2014, and NYC is giving us a ton of affordable options this season. The spring collections from NYC are always a favorite of mine (remember that fun green gloss in the Spring 2013 Let's Paint The Town Collection?).But if I'm going to get nostalgic (and yes, I'm going there), nothing will ever quite compare those rose lip colors from the Fall 2010 Berry Bloom Collection, and those two peach polishes in the Summer 2012 Summer In The City Collection. BUT, this new Spring 2014 collection might just give past collections a run for their money...especially if you're a pastel fan (PS: we're seeing a previous limited edition product's return, as well!).
