I just spotted this new Almay display at CVS and wanted to share. They've added new products to the Wake Up line, and some of them look very promising!
First up, new blush + highlighter palettes:
Next, three new eyeshadow palettes (three shadows + a primer):
I love that two of these quads both contain taupes:
Almay has extended their dual-ended shadow stick line and come out with liner + highlighters!
The highlighters include a champagne-beige, pink and silver, with corresponding liners on the other end.
And finally, a new line of foundations with "Broad Spectrum SPF20":
What do YOU think of these new Almay Wake Up products? Anything catching your eye? Have you spotted this display in you area yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I JUST saw these at bed bath and beyond at lunch and debated for about 5 minutes over the foundation. The lightest shade has a lovely pink tinge rather than the typical yellow toned "ivory" a lot of lines have. The only thing holding me back is that it was over $10 - even at bed bath and beyond. I think I'll go back and try it once I get another 20% coupon from them.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth: interesting! I've always found the 'ivory' and 'porcelain' shades in drugstore foundations to be too pinky-orange for me. Maybe I'm just THAT yellow.
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy pink/red - it's a curse - so maybe I'm the extreme! :)
DeleteThose look amazing!! It might just be enough to break my "no buying from Almay rule" (Kate Hudson had a baby and ultimately married the love of my life, Matthew Bellamy from Muse). In the name of makeup, I would love to try out the blush/highlighter palettes.
ReplyDeleteI never get excited about Almay products, but these actually look interesting!
ReplyDeleteThis gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "wake-up make-up"! Those first two eye shadow palettes look beautiful, maybe it's time I rethink Almay (they are like the Drug Store Clinique, I'm sure they're great, just not exciting)
ReplyDeleteI love that the eye shadow palettes come with the primer!!
ReplyDeleteOo the eyeshadow pallets look kinda cool! I wonder if the primer is actually any good? :P
ReplyDeleteI really hope these come to my CVS in Florida. Maybe even Target, which nearly always seems to be a few dollars cheaper than CVS (unless I have A CVS coupon). I'll check it out. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteEyeshadow that comes with a primer, love it! Also loving the liners/highlighters.
ReplyDeleteI think the eyeshadows with primer look interesting, mostly because the primers come in different colors. I'd be interested to look at the effect that has when you layer colors on top, and how sheer they are. On the other hand, the Almay shadows I have tried in the last year have been so bad I've thrown them out, so I don't have a lot of optimism about the shadows unless they have improved the formula. They've been the worst at the drugstore in my experience. Nothing else is ringing my bells--that foundation line all looks either too yellow or too pink to look natural on most skin tones, IMO. I'll probably wait for reviews before buying any of these.
ReplyDeleteI see two of the eyeliners coming home with me!!! I remember a black and white color combo in a purple package. It was my holy grail eye liner and I have a very small amount and it is for special occasions. Also I hope that these liners are just that good!!! hope hope hope!!!
ReplyDeleteUgh between these and the new Revlon products I'm going to be sooo broke!! haha
ReplyDeleteI had a highlighter/eyeliner like that a long time ago from Avon. That primer has me curious. I can hardly wait for reviews on that.
ReplyDeletei've always thought that for whatever reason that Almay is a boring line. The parent company seems to put in a lot of effort to Revlon and then forgets about Almay.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the new shadow palettes. I have a few older ones that I quite like. The shadow sticks look cool but I'm always nervouse bc those kind of products rarely work for me.
ReplyDeleteI always preferred Almay due to their clean classic look. the spokes models are always these clean classic refreshing looking blondes. Maybe that's why they don't appeal across the board? I am a blonde! Revlon is more dramatic and and sophisticated, glamorous. Almay is like nerdy girl next door light and airy like. I eat this stuff up!
