New (really) Sinful Colors nail polishes!

If you're a Sinful Colors lover, then I probably don't need to tell you that they often release counter displays that may appear to contain new shades but, upon closer inspection, often turn out to be repromotes of existing core collection shades.

So even though I'm sick with a cold and operating on a very low energy level at the moment, I could NOT pass up the opportunity to share with you some discoveries that a few of my fellow bloggers have made recently. I believe these are BRAND NEW Sinful Colors shades, and I know I'm not the only one who's going to be excited about this!

Click here to see ThatsSOfresh's pics of four of the new colors!

and

Click here to see the shade Steph discovered!

Huge thanks to both of these lovely ladies for the heads-up! New Sinful Colors nail polishes don't seem to come around too often, so this is definitely awesome news for Walgreens shoppers! (Unless of course one or more of you tell me that these are actually existing shades with different names--sometimes they do that, but I think these all look like new shades to me so I hope that's not the case!)

Have you spotted these new shades are your local Walgreens yet? I'd love to hear from you!

The Weekly Drugstore Makeup Sales!

Before I get into where I've been and what's going on this week, I just want to remind you that the CVS beauty clearance is still very much in full swing, and you can check out my most recent update by clicking the link on my left-hand sidebar.

I want to apologize for the lack of posts these past few days, but I caught the nasty cold that the rest of America seems to have right now, and it's really put me out of commission. Thankfully I'm feeling a tiny bit better today, so I wanted to post the weekly drugstore sales that start tomorrow (Sunday). But if you are awaiting a response from me via email/twitter/facebook, please know that I'm horribly behind on everything right now, and I'm not sure when I'll be able to respond. I apologize for that, but I'm just pretty much drained of all energy at this point.

A note to new readers: every week, I post a link to ALL of the makeup sales at the drugstores for the coming week, compliments of Make-Up on the Cheap. You can view that list here.

In addition to that fabulous list, I also post my personal picks for the best drugstore deals of the week here here, and this info is always available on my upper right-hand sidebar as well. My picks include sales for cosmetics, haircare, nail care, skincare etc., and I do not include BOGO1/2OFF sales in my post, because I don't consider those to be exceptional deals (what can I say? I love true BOGOFREE deals!).

I realize that many of you are concerned with makeup and makeup only, which is why I love to link to Make-Up on the Cheap every week. She's been posting her comprehensive makeup sale post every week for a very long time now (I used to read it before I even had a blog of my own!) and no one does it better (in my opinion). But for those of you who also love drugstore haircare, skincare, etc., I want to have you covered too, which is why I also post this update weekly as well.

I hope that makes things a bit more clear for new readers, and while I very much appreciate that you've been reaching out to me to tell me about BOGO1/2OFF sales that you've spotted at the drugstore each week, I just wanted to let you know that I'm aware of them, and I post a link to them every week for your reference. I hope this helps!

PS: And of course if you spot an exceptional deal that is NOT covered on this blog, I urge you to post about it here so that we can all see it in a timely manner. Your comments and sightings are SO helpful and I am so very grateful to those of you who post in that area regularly. I receive feedback all the time about how helpful your comments and information are, so trust me, people see that information and it helps SO many of us! In fact, I wouldn't have even know to be on the lookout for discontinued Styli-Style products if hadn't been for a wonderful reader who posted about it here. So much information is covered in that post that I don't get a chance to blog about, so remember you can access it any time by clicking the "You Tell Me" link on my top menu bar, or the little pink piggy bank on my left-hand sidebar.

Review: Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Eyeliner Trio for Hazel Eyes

I don't know if you remember back in December when I showed you the display for the new Eye Candy collection from Physicians Formula, but I was kind of freaking out about these liners. First of all, if you've been reading this blog for any length of time, you know that automatic, longwear eyeliners are my number one favorite makeup item. I just adore them because 1) I have super oily skin 2) I hate sharpening pencils. So whenever a new version hits the drugstore, you can be SURE I'm going to purchase it and review it for you.

But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that Physicians Formula would give us TRIOS, and in their Shimmer Strips line, which automatically means fun, unique colors! I had amazing success with their Shimmer Strips Gel Cream Eyeliner Trios, so I really had high hopes for these as well. I immediately purchased the set for hazel eyes when I spotted it at Rite Aid because I think this trio offers the most unique shades in terms of what can currently be found at the drugstore level.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing
Eyeliner Trio for Hazel Eyes
(retail: around $9.99)

I have to call your attention to a few things right off the bat. Number one: the price! Around $10 bucks for three full-sized liners! These pencils are the EXACT same size as my Revlon ColorStay automatic liners and the amount of product you get is identical as well (0.01 oz per pencil). Considering just one ColorStay liner retails for $7.49 at CVS, this is a steal.

Second, I'd also like to call your attention to the variety of different colors available in this collection. This is such a departure from what you ordinarily see in the world of longwear automatic pencils, which usually just come in the standard black and brown (although Revlon does mix it up a bit with teal, bronze and charcoal options). Anyway, my point is that Physicians Formula is taking things to a whole other level, as far as I'm concerned.

Here are some swatches taken with flash and without flash:

I found it a little interesting that the shade that states on the package to contain "Black + Pink Shimmer" has the least detectable shimmer of all. The package doesn't really say that the other two shades contain shimmer, but I found that both the taupe and the pink liners have much more visible shimmer overall. But please note that this is very fine micro-shimmer/sparkle and it doesn't read as glitter on the eye. The effect is very subtle.

That said, I think the taupe shade is a very true taupe (yay!) and I actually wore it in this review (scroll all the way to the bottom of the post) if you'd like to see how it looks on the eye. In the above swatches, you can kind of see this shade has both pink and silver sparkle/shimmer to it. I love that because it warms up the coolness of the taupe just a touch, which I think makes this liner a wearable taupe for both cooler and warmer skintones.

The pink shade is actually more of a warmer, mid-toned grape-ish purple-violet shade in real life. My pics make it look much more pink than it really is, but let me tell you, I was VERY happy that it wasn't a true pink in real life because I don't know many women who can pull off pink eyeliner. The fact that this is a grapey-purple-violet makes it so much more wearable to me, and it's really stunning in person. This shade has silver shimmer/sparkle running through it as well.

As for the black + pink shimmer shade, this isn't a very deep, rich black, but on my eyes it does read black (as opposed to dark brown). I have a hard time pulling off intense blacks around my eyes, so I enjoy that this is a softer, very wearable black for me. But again, I can barely detect the shimmer.

What would a longwear automatic eyeliner review be without my smudge test, right? For this test, I take my index finger and rub it back and forth with a lot of pressure for about 10 seconds. Let's see how it did:

All I can say is WOW. These babies don't budge. And I was very happy to see that the shimmer didn't migrate all over the place after the smudge test either!

So let's get down to the nitty gritty:

I've been using all three of these shades for several weeks now. The texture of these pencils is smooooth and creamy and they glide on my skin with ease. In fact, I was sure they'd smudge the first time I used them because they were that silky on the eyes. But NO. In my experience, these liners do not smudge, fade or run one bit on my upper lids, and I have only experienced the TINIEST bit of smudging on my super-oily lower-lid region, and the smudging only seems to kick in after about seven hours of wear. But even then, it's minimal for me.

In real life, I think you will be quite impressed with the pigmentation of these liners. One swipe is all I need for a very nice level of color, but of course you can build for more intensity by going over your line a few times.

And once again I'd like to point out that I am overjoyed by the variety of beautiful and unique shades offered in this collection. I never in a million years thought I would ever see a shimmery taupe or purpleish-violet automatic eyeliner in a truly longwear formula at the drugstore.

I should also add that, according to the package, these liners are: made in the USA, hypoallergenic, fragrance free, dermatologist approved, safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, and also paraben free as well.

FINAL VERDICT: In my experience, these pencils live up to their claims by providing longwear color to even my super-oily skin. They glide across the lid with such ease that you might be convinced they'll fade or smudge within the hour, but for me they did just the opposite. These liners stay put all day and night for me, and I can get at least seven hours of wear on my lower lid before I start to see a tiny bit of smudging. Because of their longwear, water-resistant properties, you'll need to remove them with makeup remover but they're worth that extra step for me. The colors available, combined with the insanely low price (three full-size liners for $10) make these a no-brainer in my book. I give them my very highest recommendation.

Did you get your free Cover Girl Natureluxe Foundation sample yet?

I want to thank my pal Maureen from QponCutie for reminding me about this one--I saw it in the AllYou daily email and then completely forgot to post about it, so thanks Maureen!

Luckily it's still active (as of the time I'm writing this post), but I'd HURRY if you want it because as we all know, free samples don't last forever and I'm sure they'll run out of this one:

I actually received some of the new CG products for review, so I'm testing this very foundation as we speak. I haven't been wearing it for 5-7 days yet (my normal testing period) so I can't give you a full review, but so far I can tell you that the texture is incredibly light and silky and it glides on my skin like a dream. Again, this is not a formal review, but I just wanted to give you my initial thoughts in case you're on the fence about getting a sample.

Have you signed up for your free sample of Natureluxe foundation yet? Did you already purchase the full-size product in-store? Does this new line appeal to you? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

New makeup line to debut at Walmart

Even though I'm not really a Walmart gal (I'm more of a Tarjay shopper), I'm always fascinated when new, affordable brands enter the big box store arena! I came across this article today and thought I'd share:

(from happi.com)

Geo Girl To Debut at Wal-Mart in March

Meet the girls of Generation Z. They are happy, optimistic, confident, communicative, compassionate, collaborative and highly-creative. This generation also has a highly-raised environmental consciousness.

Enter GeoGirl, a new cosmetics line debuting at select Wal-Mart stores in March. The 69-SKU collection of beauty products includes makeup for face, lips, cheeks and eyes plus skin and body care, with pricing from $3.98-$5.98 suggested retail.

According to the company, the colors, while bright and exciting in the package, go on super-sheer and see-through to give her skin a healthy, natural glow. The formulas are mistake proof and easy to apply successfully. The product packages themselves were created to fit in smaller hands and apply to smaller features.

Products feature gentle, good-for-skin natural ingredients including white willow bark (to exfoliate dead skin cells and control sebum); chamomile, lavender and calendula (to calm and soothe); ginseng (to tone and revitalize) and pomegranate and green tea (potent antioxidants) to enhance their functionality and help maintain healthy skin balance.

More info: www.geogirl.com

Now clearly this line is geared toward young girls, with products created "to fit smaller hands and apply to smaller features". The words "super-sheer" make me feel like the products won't be pigmented enough for my needs, but you never know.

Are you excited to see these when they hit store shelves in March? Or does this line sound like it's not for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Hedy's oke.doke Steal this Teal and Camo Loco

I feel like it has been FOREVER since I've done a nail post, and that makes me very sad because you know I'm a polish fiend! So anyway, today I want to show you the two oke.doke polishes I purchased at Rite Aid a while back when I spotted this new display. As several of you pointed out, oke.doke sounds a lot like tokidoki so I'm pretty certain they're "inspired" by tokidoki!

First up, Steal this Teal:

Hedy's oke.doke Steal this Teal
(retail: $1.99 at Rite Aid)

(Excuse the weird little air bubble on the label--I just noticed that when I saw these pics).

I got these when Rite Aid was having a BOGO1/2OFF on all their nail polishes, so I ended up paying $3 for two of them. At first I thought, "Yikes, even $3 was a bit much for these" but then my mind quickly changed.

In certain lights, Steal this Teal looks more like a traditional teal, but in other lights it reminds me of Sally Hansen Gray by Gray--sort of a deep periwinkle-dolphin-gray-blue, but of course with a lovely, subtle gold shimmer. I love it much more than I thought I would, and I honestly can say I don't have a similar color in my stash.

These polishes went on a bit thick and gloppy for me, and they left some major brush stokes on the first coat. BUT, everything kind of leveled out after the second coat dried, and in all of these photos I'm showing you what two coats look like with a layer of Seche Vite on top.

I am seriously impressed with the opacity of these babies, and what I'm even more impressed by is their staying power on my nails.

These swatches of Camo Loco were taken on DAY FOUR of my mani:

Hedy's oke.doke in Camo Loco
(retail: $1.99 at Rite Aid)

Pretty great for day four, eh? And I did some major dishwashing during those days as well. AND, I didn't use a base coat! Just two layers of Camo Loco and one layer of Seche Vite!

For a new, cheapie drugstore polish line, I'm pretty happy with oke.doke so far! Have you tried any of their polishes? What do you think of them?

Spotted: New Sally Hansen Simple Spa Wax Warmer Kit

In my humble opinion, no one does at-home waxing better than Sally Hansen (when it comes to drugstore products, that is). I'm a huge fan of this microwavable, no-strip kit, which I use every single month on my brows.

So this really caught my eye when I saw it at Rite Aid the other day:

Right: Sally Hansen Simple Spa Wax Warmer Kit
(retail: $19.99 at Rite Aid)
Left: Sally Hansen Simple Spa Wax Refill Kit
(retail: $9.99 at Rite Aid)

(notice the $3 off tear pad coupon on this display)

Here are my initial reactions to this kit: I like that it seems more professional since it comes with its own warmer, which functions like a coffee warmer or a candle warmer. Apparently you place the tin inside the warmer, plug it in and wait for the wax to warm up.

But that said, if I'm just doing my eyebrows, I'd much prefer to pop the wax in the microwave and be done in a few minutes. If you're going to be doing a major waxing (face, legs, etc.) I can definitely see the benefit of having a warmer there by your side the entire time though. The microwavable version I use does cool down quickly and it's pretty much solid by the time I'm done waxing my brows.

So I can really see both sides to this new kit. If you're a major at-home waxer, this could be great for you! And the $3 coupon certainly helps (as well as the BOGO1/2OFF going on at Rite Aid this week).

What do you think? Does this seem like a kit that would work well for your particular hair removal needs? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

A closer look at the new John Frieda Full Repair Weightless Damage Remedy Collection

I love John Frieda products. They just consistently seem to work for me, so I was very excited to finally see this new collection at Rite Aid the other day, and I'm so happy there were brochures in this display (with $1 off coupons!) so that I could give you a much better look at the entire line:

And just a reminder: all John Frieda products are on sale this week at Walgreens for 3/$10, so if you spot these coupons, you'll get them for 3/$9!

I'd like to show you close-ups from the brochure in case you're curious about this collection:

I am VERY interested in the Perfect Ends Sheer Mist since it's designed for fine-textured hair (that would be me). It's always difficult to find a good product for my fried ends that doens't weigh my hair down or make it look greasy, so I can't wait to try this one. I also am a bit curious about that mascara wand product.

What do you think of this new collection? Are you excited to try anything? Anything jumping out at you?

Spotted: New St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea skincare (vegan and paraben-free)

Whenever I see the words "green tea" I'm like a moth to a flame. I just love anything that contains green tea, smells like green tea, looks like green tea or tastes like green tea.

So I was pretty excited to see these new skincare and body care products from St. Ives at Rite Aid last week:

St. Ives Naturally Clear Green Tea collection
(retail: $5.99 each at Rite Aid)

These are actually on sale this week (through Saturday) at Rite Aid for 2/$7, but the sale exludes the body washes.

What I found most interesting about these products was that each product clearly states on the package:

Formulated without parabens and phthalates
Not tested on animals
Does not contain animal ingredients

After seeing that, I couldn't resist picking up the Naturally Clear Green Tea Scrub, which I will review in the days to come. At just $3.50 on sale, I couldn't pass it up.

What do you think of this new line from St. Ives? Do you think you'll give it a try?

Spotted: New Sally Hansen Vitamin Lip Care Collection

Remember a little while ago when I told you about all the new Sally Hansen lip products that will be releasing this year? Well I found the Vitamin Lip Care collection and I wanted to show you what it looks like!

Sally Hansen Vitamin Lip Care Collection
(retail: $4.99 each at CVS)

As you can see, there are four different lip balms in this collection, and each contains a different vitamin, designed for a specific purpose:

In appearance, these very much remind me of Japanese lip balms. I actually purchased the Vita A Lip Smoother (peach) and I'm testing it right now, so please check back for my detailed review in a little while.

In the meantime, what do you think of this new collection? Are you curious about these?

The Wednesday Question

This week's question is one I cannot believe I have never asked before on this blog! I am SO excited to see all of your answers, so please, please respond in the comments!

What is your favorite "My Lips But Better" lip color?

My current favorite MLBB shade is NYC Lippin' Large Lip Plumper Gloss in "Mulberry". I can't wait to hear yours!

A Wet n Wild dupe of Urban Decay Rockstar!

I have got to give a HUGE shout-out to my wonderful reader Jessi for this dupe discovery! You know how much I'm loving the new Wet n Wild Coloricon Eye & Brow Liner in Amethyst, right? Well now there's another reason to love it. Check this out:

image credit: Jessi for Nouveau Cheap
Top: Wet n Wild Coloricon Eye & Brow Liner in Amethyst
(retail: $0.99)
Bottom: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Rockstar
(retail: $17)

image credit: Jessi for Nouveau Cheap

According to Jessi, the UD liner is a touch darker in color, and the pigmenetation and creaminess are a little bit more intense as well. But she said that the WnW liner is still smooth (you know I think these liners are smooth too!) and the colors would definitely pass "the boyfriend test", meaning your boyfriend wouldn't be able to tell them apart if you wore one on each eye.

What do you think? I'd say this qualifies as a very legitimate dupe!

Thanks SO much, Jessi, for the awesome photos and info. This is so helpful, and I know I'm not the only one who appreciates it! You just gave me one more reason to adore Amethyst!

Review: New EOS Everyday Hand Lotion (you've got to see this one!)

At this point, I think we've all been through our little obsessions with EOS lip balms. Those little spheres are just too cute, aren't they? Well I've got a whole new EOS obsession to show you today, and let me tell you--if you like the lip balms, you might love these:

EOS Everyday Hand Lotion in Refresh
(retail: $3.99 at Rite Aid, 1.5 oz)

I purchase this at Rite Aid recently--one of the employees was just putting these out on display when I happened to walk up. I pretty much gasped when I saw them; I mean, I knew EOS had body lotions, but those come in traditional pump bottles. I had NO idea that they just released these hand lotions! The shape of this lotion is sort of like a flat, asymmetrical stone. It actually reminds me of a computer mouse as well. This packaging is just too cute, I'm tellin' ya!

And in true EOS fashion, this new hand lotion line (there's also an unscented version that comes in a super pretty shade of baby blue) is free of every controversial ingredient I can think of, and it's also vegan and cruelty-free.

As you can see, this lotion has a flip-top lid, and you just squeeze to dispense. I LOVE how, if you look at the pic below, there's a little indentation on the back side of the tube. It's the perfect spot to put your thumb when you're squeezing out the lotion (very ergonomic). Also, I put the container in the palm of my hand so that you can see how small it is--it's just the most perfect size for your purse, desk drawer, etc. (just like the box indicates). I LOVE it.

Now let's get to the actual lotion, shall we?

As you can see in the pic above, this is a lotion--not a cream. So the consistency is on the thin side, but it's not super watery. When I first applied it to my hands, I thought, "Oh no, this isn't going to be moisturizing enough." But then, as I worked it into my hands and waited a minute or two, I realized something. The way it feels on my hands after I apply it is very similar to the way a much richer, heavier cream feels on my hands about 30 minutes after application. In other words, it feels the way I ultimately want my hand cream to feel. Except I don't have to work through that 20-30 minutes of greasiness to get there! I am so impressed with the light, protective barrier this leaves on my hands, and the way it instantly turns my lizard skin into soft and supple skin. Also, it lasts through a couple of hand washes for me as well!

On and the FRAGRANCE! If you like soft, sweet cucumber scents, you are going to LOVE this one. I must admit, I went through a cucumber phase many years ago and burned myself out on cucumber completely. But the fragrance of this lotion has made me fall in love with cucumber again. It's just such a soft, delicate scent, and it's got a sweet note to it that isn't cloying, but it takes the sharpness away from the cucumber. Together, the sweetness and the crispness combine into a such a lovely, clean and fresh fragrance--I cannot stop sniffing it.

FINAL VERDICT: This one's a winner, folks. It may not be thick or rich in texture (hey, the title is hand lotion, after all) but do not let that deceive you. EOS Everyday Hand Lotion packs a powerful punch, and it's been moisturizing my dry winter hands beautifully for the past several days. To top it off, it's got a natural, vegan formula and the cutest packaging I've seen in quite some time. I say run, don't walk, and grab yourself one. I think this product is worth every penny.

New Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadows

By now you've all probably seen these--I spotted them at Target, Walgreens, and then I also saw this counter display at Rite Aid. But just in case you haven't seen them yet, you should know that Maybelline has reconfigured their duos, trios and quads a bit:

The new Expert Wear shadows come in four different categories:

 Stylish Smokes and Modern Metallics

Chic Naturals and Perfect Pastels

It looks like the only thing that's staying the same is the singles. The duos, trios and quads have all been reconfigured, and instead of the pans being of equal size, you can see above that the pans in the palettes are all of different sizes and proportions now. I'm not sure how I like this new configuration because it means I might get less of my favorite shade in a given palette. (See that trio on the right in the pic above? I can already tell that I'd want way more green than pink, and you only get the little pan of green.)

As for the colors and formulas, I do not know if these are all new shades and new formulas. I'm not an expert on Expert Wear (no pun intended) so if you know if these are new shades or just repackaged existing shades, please leave a comment and let me know? Thanks!

Spotted: New Aveeno Living Color Color-Preserving Shampoo and Conditioner

Ever since I first tried Aveeno Nourish+ Moisturize Shampoo back in '09, it's been a staple in my shower. I just adore it and even awarded it "Best Cheapie Shampoo" for my 2009 Cheapie Awards. So of course I was excited to see that they've expanded the Aveeno haircare line with these new additions:

Aveeno Living Color
Color-Preserving Shampoo and Conditioner

The thing that kind of bums me out is that the bottles state: "For medium-thick hair".  What? Do you mean to tell us that gals with fine hair can't use this? Fine-haired girls color their hair too, Aveeno!

Have you seen this new addition to the Aveeno haircare line yet? Is your hair medium-thick and color-treated? If so, do you think you'll give this a shot?

Spotted: New Neutrogena Revitalizing Tinted Lip Balms SPF 20

Finally! I've heard so much about these but just finally spotted them for myself! Have you seen the new Neutrogena tinted lip balms yet?

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balms SPF 20
(retail: $8.99 at Walgreens)

These come in six shades (unless there are more that will be revealed when this moves from the counter display to the wall) and they come in those flat, oval tubes that I'm always so obsessed with when it comes to lip products.

Right now my lips look like the picture on the left (the "before" side) so if they can turn things around for me like they do in the picture, I'm all over it. I'm just not thrilled with the $9 price tag, so hopefully there will be a good sale (and coupons) for this soon!

Have you tried one of these new tinted lip balms yet? I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts!

Spotted: Reveal by Halle Berry

I am a HUGE fan of the original Halle by Halle Berry fragrance. Ever since I first purchased it '09, it's been a go-to fragrance for me and I also enjoyed her Pure Orchid fragrance as well. So when I saw this display, I couldn't wait to try that tester bottle.

Reveal by Halle Berry
(retail: $28 for 1.0 oz, $17 for 0.5 oz at Rite Aid)

Right off the bat, I don't think the bottle is as pretty as the other two Halle Berry fragrances. It seems kind of...uninspired to me. I don't know. I'm just not thrilled with it. And as for the fragrance? After spritzing some on my wrist and wearing it for a few hours, I can tell you that it's got many of the same notes as the original Halle by Halle Berry, but Reveal seems more like a sophisticated, "nighttime" version whereas Halle is a lighter, cleaner, daytime type of fragrance. Again, this is just my initial impression, but so far I like it!

Have you spotted Reveal yet? Are you a Halle Berry fragrance fan?

Spotted: New Garnier Anti-Dandruff Shampoos and Conditioners

Of all the issues that one can have, I'm very happy to say that dandruff isn't something I suffer from (watch, I probably just jinxed myself and will end up with dandruff tomorrow).

But if you or anyone you know does suffer from those pesky little white flakes, Garnier just released three new anti-dandruff formulas and one of them actually surprised me a bit:

If you look closely at these pics, you'll see that the "Clean Control" formula in the middle (the ones in the clear bottles) contain salicylic acid as opposed to the usual anti-dandruff ingredients.  I thought that was interesting and I can't recall ever seeing a drugstore shampoo with salicylic acid in it before (although maybe I just haven't noticed them before?). Anyway, just wanted to point that out.

Have you tried these new offerings from Garnier? Did they work for you?

Spotted: New Dial NutriSkin Replenishing Lotion Collection

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this might be the first lotion line we've ever seen from Dial!

I've mentioned before that I love the Dial NutriSkin body washes (click here for a review). In fact, what's so surprising to me is that of all the lotions and potions and body washes in my shower, my boyfriend "Mr. G" seems to only compliment the softness of my skin after I've used my NutriSkin body wash. Isn't that funny?

Anyway, given my good experience with the body washes, I was excited to spot the new body lotions at a few different drugstores:

In this display, there a men's formula, a formula for dry skin (with aloe) and a formula for extra dry skin (with shea butter).

And then at another drugstore, I spotted these lotions on the regular shelf, but this time I also spotted another formula, "Soothing", which contains chamomile to help with "itchy dry skin". I'm always frustrated when counter displays don't contain the full range of products in a new line, but I'm glad I spotted the 4th formula at another store so I could show you everything in this new line.

So, do you think you might give this new Dial lotion line a try? Are you curious about it? I really hope these lotions work as well as the body washes do for me!

Spotted: New L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Anti-Breakout Cleanser

Continuing with all the new drugstore products I've spotted recently, I wanted to show you the new "scrublet" formula from L'Oreal:

 L'Oreal Go 360 Clean Anti-Breakout Facial Cleanser
(retail: $7.29 at Walgreens)

This is a new formula that contains salicylic acid to treat acne.

Now before you leave a comment telling me that you tried a Go 360 Clean cleanser and it dried out or irritated your skin (you wouldn't believe how many stories I've heard about this) I want to you that I'm sorry, and you are not alone. But I personally LOVE the Sensitive Skin formula and I've been using it for about a year now. This is the only formula I've ever tried, and will ever try, because it's the only one that doesn't contain menthol (menthol breaks me out terribly). The Sensitive Skin formula is by far my favorite drugstore cleanser that I've used to date because it's the only one that seems to deeply clean my oily skin without leaving it feeling dry or tight.

So anyway, my point is that I'm very sorry if you've tried another formula from this line and it didn't work out for you! Oh and by the way, I checked the ingredient list on this new Anti-Breakout formula and it does not contain menthol, but it does contain peppermint oil, and guess what? Peppermint oil contains menthol. So, I guess I won't be giving this one a try. Boo!

Have you tried this new scrublet formula yet? Do you think it might be a good match for your skincare needs? Are you sensitive to menthol too? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
