Review: Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil

I feel like it's my personal mission to try every single cleansing oil that hits the drugstores. Why? I have no idea. Well, I take that back. I guess I'm always searching for something that might compare to my beloved holy grail DHC Cleansing Oil, so I pretty much won't stop buying drugstore versions until I find it.

To date, I've reviewed for you the Garnier cleansing oil, The Body Shop chamomile cleansing oil, the DHC cleansing oil and I thought I reviewed the Eclos cleansing oil, but it turns out that I haven't (I like that one quite a bit though, and I think it's one of the closest formulas, performance-wise, to the DHC cleansing oil for me). I have NOT tried the new Simple cleansing oil or the new Burt's Bees cleansing oil, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually.

I don't know what it is, but I rarely get excited about new Neutrogena cosmetic launches these days. Skincare? Yes! But makeup? Not so much. And I know I'm not alone, based on the feedback I've received from some of you here on the blog. HOWEVER, I must admit that I'm pretty darned excited about these new face products (I'll explain a moment).

I'm not sure why the One Step Gentle Cleanser still has "new" printed on the bottle, but it's definitely not new (I remember reading Krissy's review back in 2012).

Review: NEW Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

I normally give the skincare products I review here on the blog a full 4-6 weeks of testing before I share my thoughts with you, but I'm coming in a little shy of four weeks for this one. I first posted pics of the display for the new Hydro Boost collection back on January 1st, and I found this product in my area on January 2nd. I immediately started testing the day I found it, so I'll be at four weeks on the dot this Friday. But since I know a lot of us were quite excited about this new line, and this product in particular, I figured you wouldn't mind me skimping on those last few days of testing!

I know that some of you were curious about how this product might compare to the wildly-popular Laniege Sleeping Water Mask ($23 for 2.7 oz at Target), and since I have actually tried the Laniege Sleeping Water Mask, I will definitely let you know how the two compare at the end of this review. So let's get started...

Spotted: NEW Products from Biore, Neutrogena, Garnier, Organix, Burt's Bees, Olay and More (PIC HEAVY)

Happy New Year, my lovelies! I thought I'd kick off 2015 with a big ol' new product sightings post for you today. In addition to all of the new 2015 makeup I've been covering for the past several weeks, new skincare, body care and haircare products are now starting to make their way into drugstores and big box stores, and I've got TONS to share with you thanks to some very lovely readers (I've also spotted some new things myself over the past week or so, which I'l be showing you in second).

I have so much to cram into this post that I want to apologize for not remembering all of the retailers and prices for these sightings--I received submissions from just about all of my social media channels and it was a little crazy trying to keep track of the details. But as we all know by now, all of these products should be showing up EVERYWHERE quite soon (if you haven't already seen them in your area) so just keep checking in with your usual retailers and be on the lookout.

Spotted: NEW Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow Quads

It's been a while since Neutrogena released new products, right? I was trying to think of the last new release I covered from Neutrogena and can you believe it was their BB cream back in January of this year? Well that's about to change, since they just released some new eyeshadow quads! I honestly can't remember the last eyeshadows that Neutrogena released--heck, besides the BB cream, the most recent release that I can think of was the Long Wear Foundation which I posted about exactly a year ago. So yeah, new products from Neutrogena are long overdue, I'd say!

These new jumbo lip pencils from Neutrogena have been getting lots and lots of raves across the internet, and if you think this review is just going to add to the chorus, you're right! No suspense here, my lovelies. These lip colors are fan-freaking-tastic. I purchased two shades a few weeks ago at Rite Aid, and I'm beyond pleased with both. Take a look:

Review: Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Day and Night Moisturizers

I don't review a lot of skincare products on my blog because, quite frankly, they take a lot of time to test (how can you know if a skincare product is working if you only use it for a week or two?). But when Neutrogena contacted me about trying their new Rapid Tone Repair moisturizers, I jumped at the chance because I absolutely loved their Rapid Wrinkle Repair Moisturizer SPF30 (click here for my review). Since I just turned 42 last week, I need all the help I can get with my skin and having a clearer, smoother tone is a prospect I find very, very attractive. 

I started testing both of these products on October 1st of this year, and concluded my testing on December 1st (I'll be showing you before and after photos at the end of this review). So let's get started:

New Product Report

I've got a great sightings report to share with you today, submitted by reader Kristin. New BB creams, jumbo lip pencils, metallic polishes and more, coming to a drugstore near you soon (if they're not already there!):

Kristin writes:

I was at Walgreens today & saw a bunch of new displays:

Neutrogena is coming out with a crease-proof cream eyeshadow in a twist-up stick packaging.  4 colors- a dark grayish plum, taupe, copper and pink.  Also included in the display was a mascara- Healthy Lengths.  

Lumene has a new "anti-aging bb cream."

Yes To has a new line- grapefruit.  There was a scrub, towelettes, a dark circle eye cream and a dark spot brightening serum.

Neutrogena is jumping on the chubby lip pencil bandwagon with the Moisture Smooth Color Stick.  I don't think it was marketed as a stain, but more like a colored twist-up pencil, like Cover Girl's.  Eight different colors, all in the warm-neutral family, ranging from a nude to berries and a darker brown.

L'Oreal also has 3 new Color Riche nail polishes in the "Le Nouveau Riche" collection.  All cool-toned metallics: medium pink, seafoam green-blue &  tan.

Rimmel has 3 Scandal Eye eye shadow sticks (similar to a NYX Jumbo Shadow Pencil).  Colors were white, coppery-brown & charcoal gray.  The display also had 3 liners (which I believe were billed as kohl) in black, gray & brown (I don't remember if they were a twist-up style or a traditional pencil, but they were not a kohl style like the Physicians Formula ones, luckily, as those break off easily)
