Aaaah, springtime. The pastels are out in full-force again for Spring 2014, and NYC is giving us a ton of affordable options this season. The spring collections from NYC are always a favorite of mine (remember that fun green gloss in the Spring 2013 Let's Paint The Town Collection?).But if I'm going to get nostalgic (and yes, I'm going there), nothing will ever quite compare those rose lip colors from the Fall 2010 Berry Bloom Collection, and those two peach polishes in the Summer 2012 Summer In The City Collection. BUT, this new Spring 2014 collection might just give past collections a run for their money...especially if you're a pastel fan (PS: we're seeing a previous limited edition product's return, as well!).
Many thanks to reader Dyoung (@msluckydee13 on Instagram) for this sighting. Dyoung spotted the Spring 2014 collection at her local Kmart this week and was nice enough to share some pics. Take a look!

What do you think of this new Spring 2014 collection from NYC? How do YOU think it compares to previous NYC collections? Are you looking forward to seeing these products in person?
Thanks so much to Dyoung and Sarah for the great sighting, pics and info. And thanks to all of YOU for sharing your additional info about this collection in the comments below! I really appreciate it!
I can't wait to find this collection! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Shimmer Blast Top Coat. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteHeading to Kmart tomorrow to look for this collection as well as the SH Insta-dri polishes from the Moroccan collection. Fingers crossed they have both! Otherwise, no one around me carries NYC cosmetics
ReplyDeleteMy fingers are crossed for you!!
DeleteI could never find the shimmer blast last year. I ended up getting a limited edition loreal shimmer top coat last year and it was a miracle too to find it cause it had been a long while since that display had even been in stores. I was also hoping Rain Drop was on this one. Oh well. I would probably still buy the blue in this set. I'm such a sucker for blue nail polishes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a second chance at it! :)
DeleteIs Sweet Candy a polish that is similar to Shimmer Blast?
ReplyDeleteLet me at these polishes... I want them all now!
I'm confused. I said it IS Shimmer Blast. Give it a quick read again. Hope what I wrote clears that up for you! :)
DeleteOK. That's what I thought you meant... that the 2 polishes were the same. Sweet candy and shimmer blast.
DeleteI have 3 or more shimmer blast bottles already. Why would the company slap on a name? I guess just to get people to buy it again. Which I will, along with the other new colors. I have a thing for NYC nail polish....
I went, I saw, I bought... all of the polishes and 2 of the applelicious lip balms (002 cherry on the cake, 003 raspberry sorbet).
DeleteThe original "Shimmer Blast" is numbered 016 & has the name shimmer blast on the back as well as the front. It has almost a bluish cast to it in the bottle when you close.
The new "Shimmer Blast" has a pinkish caste to it and the back says 017 & Sweet Candy. I bought 2 bottles of it, along with the other 4 polishes.
Kmart also had clearance items... that I will post in the GET THEE TO KMART blog section.
I'm a happy girl tonight!
Oooo I like the nail polishes, I'm a sucker for anything pastel though. This is another thing I wonder if I'll even see... it seems less and less places around here carry LE NYC collections nowadays.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I usually only see these LE collections at Rite Aid and Kmart, and occasionally at CVS. :(
DeleteI'm glad we get another chance to try and snag Sweet Candy. I appreciate how NYC has changed up their eye palettes with different color combos.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I just lucked out with a random leftover put in the wrong place, but I bought Shimmer Blast a few months ago at my local Rite Aid in the permanent display. I had no idea it was LE. I think there was only one in the display though, so that makes sense that is was probably just one that didn't get sold and was just placed with the rest.
ReplyDeleteFunny, that's how I found my bottle of shimmer blast. I barely use it, but it is extremely conforting to know I have them... and now can get more. SNAG... THESE ARE MINE... will bee my motto whenever I find this display. Heeheehee! (evil laugh)
DeleteOh I really want to find this display I totally need some more in a minute polishes for stamping!!!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCan you start a sightings map for the shadow palettes?
ReplyDeleteI am super excited about this display! I want to get te two spring colored eyeshadow palette and the Sweet Candy too coat!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the eyeshadow palettes. Each one has some appealing colors in it. The nail polishes are "eh" for me. I'd have to see those in person to see if there's anything unique. I'm hoping there are some new balm colors, and hopefully they're not shimmery or glittery. Now all I need is a Rite Aid with this new display paired with a 40 percent sale!
ReplyDeleteThere are pretties there I want!!! I need a closer look at the lipsticks. And those shadows....SPRINGTIME!!!!
ReplyDeleteSadness-- made a trek to the nearest KMart and they didn't have this collection there... hoping that this makes it into Rite-Aid because at know where the local one is.
ReplyDeleteI found this display today at Rite Aid in downtown Memphis , I guess I was the 1st person to come across it because it was untouched until I got there! I bought two of the palettes and one of the nail polishes and the rest was still there :)
ReplyDeleteOmg please tell me which downtown location it is. The ones out near quince rd dont have them.
DeleteI have such a weakness for pastels...I might need that eyeshadow palette in my life.
ReplyDeleteSaw this collection at K-mart today. Pretty spring colors!
ReplyDeleteI spotted this collection at Rite Aid. The balms are limited edition.
ReplyDeleteLast night at KMART in Des Moines Iowa I scored the blush ,all 3 lip glosses, all 3 eye palettes and a clearance eyeliner for less than$20. The display had $1 off coupons and the girl at the register told me it was double on coupons. Didn't even know they did that. I'll definitely be on the look out for that again she said it was the last day for it but they do it from time to time. Yay!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey didn't double my cpns... bummer. And they made me ring up each NYC item separately otherwise the coupons wouldn't work.
