I created these FAQs to help you maximize your savings during this sale, so they're definitely worth a read!

CVS Beauty Clearance Sale Update: 75% off items spotted!

We have our first 75% off sightings for this round of the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale, folks! There aren't a lot of products that have been spotting for 75% off yet, but it's a start!

PLEASE NOTE: Some of you have reported seeing these exact items on clearance at your CVS stores for 25% off or 50% off. Be sure to SCAN these items at the red scanner box, because the discount could be deeper in the system. For example, reader Pam said that her CVS had the Lumene CC Creams marked as 25% off but when she scanned them, they were actually 50% off in the system. So be sure to scan, scan, scan! (And thanks for that tip, Pam!)

As I've mentioned before, Monday, May 19th is the day that all of the other CVS Beauty Clearance Sale markdowns are supposed to go live in the system. For the past week or so, only select Revlon products have been on clearance, but that's all about to change!

I am quite excited to see what else is going to be spotted on clearance this week, and I'll do my best to add all sightings left on THIS POST to the master list as quickly as I can. CVS Beauty Clearance Sale Spring/Summer 2014 Master List

Yep, the mother of all drugstore clearance sales is back for another round!  As with years past, this page is a place where we can share what we've spotted on clearance. The "master list" is below, which I will update regularly based on your input. If you have any new sightings to contribute, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW so that I can keep track of everything in one place. Thank you so very, very much for your help and cooperation during this crazy time!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• If you do not see little green or pink clearance stickers on items at your store, IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT ON CLEARANCE IN THE SYSTEM. Try taking some items from the master list below to the red scanner box and SCAN THEM. They might come up on clearance in the system even if you don't see clearance stickers on the merchandise.

• CVS may allow you to use manufacturer's coupons on clearance merchandise, which means you might be able to score some of these products for free or close to free if you have any coupons (this is at the store's discretion; it may vary from store to store). Click here for coupons.com printable beauty coupons and.click here for redplum.com printable beauty coupons that you may be able to use during this sale!

• Almost always, CVS will state "excludes clearance" on their weekly sales, so don't expect to get a rewards offer in conjunction with a clearance item. HOWEVER, your purchases count toward your reward for being a CVS Beauty Club Member (Beauty Club Members earn $5 in Extra Bucks for every $50 spent on beauty products).

• Just because something is marked on clearance during one of these sales does not necessarily mean that it's about to be discontinued. HOWEVER, often times it is an indicator that the product is about to be discontinued. If you love anything listed below, I wouldn't hesitate to stock up, just in case the product does eventually get discontinued.

• There is no end-date to this sale, as the object is to get old product out and bring new product in. So these products should be on sale until most everything is wiped out and the new 2014 products take their places. 

• Not all CVS locations participate in these beauty clearance sales, but the majority of them do (some stores in high-traffic tourist areas and college towns do not participate). Also, not all stores may have the exact same items on clearance (in past years, certain items that many of you saw on clearance at your stores never went on clearance in the system in other regions). So it's VERY important to scan before you buy!

NOTE: @k4hurricane was the very first reader to give me a heads-up that this sale had started, and she actually found the clearance items above (all 50% off) at her CVS two weeks ago! I didn't hear anyone else mention finding items on clearance for a while after that, so it looks like her store started stickering markdowns a bit early. She mentioned that the cashier had to manually enter in the clearance prices in the system, so I'm not going to add all of the items above to the master list until we hear from others who have also spotted these for 50% off (I want to be sure this wasn't specific just to one store).

The CVS Beauty Clearance Sale has begun!

Just a quick note to let you know that the reader sightings have started coming in and the semi-annual CVS Beauty Clearance Sale has officially begun! It's a few weeks ahead of schedule since last year's Summer Beauty Clearance started around May 17th!

If you have no idea what the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale is about, CLICK HERE to view last winter's sale post, and HERE to view last summer's sale post. I've been covering these sales for years now and the one thing I can tell you is that this is the best time of year to stock up on drugstore beauty, with many, many products on sale for 50% off and 75% off. So get your coupons and Extra Bucks in order because the next round of haul-madness is about to start! Six L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows now 50% off at CVS (get 'em before they're gone!)

Just when you thought the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale might be mellowing out, we have a NEW markdown! Huge thanks to reader @angelmichelemua on Instagram for being the first to alert me to the fact that six of the Infallible Eyeshadows are now coming up 50% off at CVS. And just today, reader @prettytoyaworld on Instagram shared this pic of the shades she spotted on clearance (I have added the shade names to the master list).

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the six shades now on clearance are probably being discontinued in favor of the six new shades here, which should take the place of the old shades in the permanent L'Oreal display. So I would stock up if any of those existing shades are some of your favorites.

Important Update regarding the CVS Beauty Clearance Sale

It has come to my attention from several readers that, over the past few days, the clearance prices for products by Physicians Formula and Rimmel (as listed here) may have reverted back to the original retail price in the system, despite the presence of clearance stickers on the merchandise.

I have no idea why the prices may have reverted back to full price, and I cannot verify this personally, but I have heard from over a dozen readers from across the country who have experienced this while trying to purchase clearance items by Physicians Formula and Rimmel over the weekend.

TO BE SAFE, I strongly suggest that even if you see clearance stickers on these products, you SCAN THEM AT THE RED SCANNER BOX FIRST, to ensure that these particular products are coming up on clearance in the system. 

Since this change seems to have JUST taken effect, it's understandable that the stickers may not have been removed on these particular products yet. So please do scan these products before you buy them, to avoid any conflicts at the register!

PS: I would just like say that, while clearance sales are amazing, they're a privilege and not a right. We're lucky to have access to such amazing deals from retailers a few times a year, and I think it's important to have patience and tolerance when it comes to giant clearance sales like this. There may be employees who are unaware that the prices have just reverted, and the task of labeling (and removing labels) on each and every clearance product is enormous. So please keep that in mind when you're shopping!

CVS Beauty Clearance Sale Haul and Recommendations

Since this year's drugstore beauty clearance sales seem to be bigger and better than ever before (and going on not only at CVS but at Rite Aid, Walgreens and Kmart as well, with many of the exact same items found on clearance at all of these retailers), I thought you might like to see what I've purchased so far, AND a few personal recommendations. Since I have reviewed several of the products currently on clearance, I thought it might be helpful to share with you a few of my personal favorite products that you can now find on clearance for either 50 or 75% off at the retailers listed above. I know I said I wasn't going to do a blog post every time I do an update to the CVS Beauty Clearance master list, but I wanted to let you know that I found a TON of products at CVS today that I just added to the list, AND several of you left some incredibly helpful comments on the master list post, so I added those comments to the list as well. I cannot thank you enough for leaving comments on that post--I know it is incredibly time consuming and tedious to jot down info in-store and then leave it in the comments here, so I want to give an extra special thank-you to everyone who has contributed to this list here on the blog. YOU ROCK, and you are helping so many of us!

I also want to let you know that I've spotted a ton of additional CVS clearance items simply by searching the #cvsclearance tag on Instagram. I have NOT added those products to the master list yet, but I will do that first thing in the morning. In the meantime, if you're on Instagram I highly recommend searching #cvsclearance and taking a look at all of the haul pics (there are many) for things I haven't added to the list yet.

I haven't done a CVS Beauty Clearance Sale update in a while, but I just found lots of skincare, bath and body care products on 25% and 75% off clearance at my local CVS and added them to the Master List!  Click here to view the master list with photos of everything I spotted!

Just a reminder: I can't guarantee that you'll find these items on clearance at your CVS, so take some of the items spotted on clearance to the red scanner and see if they come up on clearance in the system. Hopefully they will!
