RECOMMENDATIONS
Several of the products purchased above are new for me (things I haven't tried before), however, a few are personal favorites. Below is a list of the products I personally own, love and have repurchased (and in many instances have reviewed) that can now be found on clearance at CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Kmart. Not all of these products may be on clearance in your area, but it never hurts to scan them (or have a cashier scan them) to see if they're on clearance in the system, even if you do not see clearance stickers on the merchandise.
COSMETICS RECOMMENDATIONS
Black Radiance Complexion Perfection Shine Control Face Primer (now 50% off at CVS)
This is my holy grail face primer and you can see my full review here.
CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipsticks (select shades now 50% off at CVS and other retailers)
These lipsticks are super creamy and extremely pigmented. You can see my review of a few shades here.
L'Oreal HiP Eyeshadow Duos (now 50% off at CVS and other retailers)
These are my favorite eyeshadows ever from L'Oreal. The are soft, buttery, pigmented and have great staying power, etc. You can see one of the several posts I've done about them here.
Milani Baked Blushes in Fantastico Mauve and Rose d'Oro (now 75% off at CVS)
It's no secret that I LOVE Milani's Baked Blushes (they are super pigmented and have excellent staying power). But you may have missed my post about Fantastico Mauve being a nice alternative to NARS Dolce Vita blush here. Also, Rose d'Oro is a beautiful shade as well--you can see my swatch of it here.
Wet n Wild Trios and 8-pans (select shades now 50% off at CVS and other retailers)
This is an obvious choice, but if you want to see some swatches or eye looks, click here and here.
Lipsmackers lip balm in Dr. Pepper (now 75% off at CVS)
This little lip balm has a cult following. Not only does it smell and taste like Dr. Pepper, but it leaves a beautiful, your-lips-but-better tint on the lips. I've loved this for probably a decade now and highly recommend it--especially at 75% off (about $0.49, I believe).
NYC Liquid Lipshines (select shades now 75% off at CVS)
My favorite lipglosses ever from NYC. You can see my review here.
NYC City Duets Lipsticks (select shades now 75% off at CVS)
These are super fun, and come in very pretty array of shades. You can see my full review here.
Revlon Colorburst Lipglosses (select shades now 75% off at CVS and other retailers)
I adore the Colorburst lipglosses--they are not sticky and they come in a beautiful assortment of shades. You can see my original review here.
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick (shade #09 now 75% off at CVS)
Oh how I wish other shades were on sale too--I adore the Kate lipsticks. You can see a swatch of #09 here.
Sally Hansen Salon Effects (select designs now 75% off at CVS and other retailers)
If you haven't tried these yet, you can't beat this clearance price. These strips are made of real nail polish, so they LAST. I can often get a full two weeks of wear before I start to see major tip-wear (even longer if I apply them to my toes--don't forget you can wear these on your toes!). You can see my original review here.
I can't recommend these enough for daytime wear. They're soft and subtle and perfectly work-appropriate (plus they smell and taste like cocoa). You can see my full review of one of the shades here.
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color (select shades now75% off at CVS and other retailers)
My favorite of all the Sally Hansen polish lines, I've been buying and wearing Xtreme Wears for over a decade now, because these babies wear like IRON on me. And you simply cannot beat $0.74 per bottle (regularly $2.99).
Sally Hansen Moisture Twist 2-in-1 Primer + Color Lipglosses (select shades now 75% off at CVS and other retailers)
Seriously, these are fabulous. You can see my full review here.
HAIRCARE RECOMMENDATIONS
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear Hairspray (currently 50% off at CVS)
Probably my favorite hairspray of all time--I've been using it for over a decade, and I don't even have blonde hair. This product just provides great, invisible hold, it lasts all day and it also gives great body to the hair. Looooove this stuff.
Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Moisture Lock Conditioner (currently 50% off at CVS)
In my original review of this conditioner, I mentioned that this bottle is HUGE (it's like a brick!). Since my review, I have repurchased this conditioner three times. It's a staple in my shower.
Herbal Essences Honey I'm Strong Shampoo & Conditioner (currently 50% off at CVS)
This shampoo & conditioner won my 2012 Cheapie Awards for Best New Shampoo and Conditioner. It's awesome stuff--it leaves my hair soft, but also with lots of nice body. It also does a great job at controlling frizz, plus it smells like honey.
I hope this helps you navigate your way through these clearance sales a bit, and I would LOVE to hear about some of your favorites that are currently on clearance right now!
For a full listing of what's been spotted on clearance at CVS, click here. I will also be updating the Walgreens Beauty Clearance Sale post this weekend, for you Walgreens shoppers!
So many things on here my CVS doesn't carry! :'( I'm going south to see my mom for the holidays, I forsee a CVS trip in my future :D
ReplyDeleteGood luck, KD! I hope you find some of these at other locations! :)
Deleteugh I have no cvs in my area or anywhere near the town I live in. I wonder if there is a way to request one...?
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned in the first paragraph of this post, MANY of these products are also on clearance at Walgreens, Rite Aid and Kmart right now. If you don't see clearance stickers, just take some of the things on my master list to the register and ask a cashier to scan them. There's a good chance they'll be on clearance in the system!
DeleteThank you SO much for taking the time to update this list. My CVS has absolutely NOTHING labelled so I had to read the list off the screen of my phone and scan all the items. Pretty sure I looked really suspicious to the employees haha. I got the same Revlon concealer as well the Coty loose face powder. Will definitely be going back for round 2! Thank you :D
ReplyDeleteYou should use coupons to get even better deals!
ReplyDeleteG do you know if these items are final sale? I bought a few times that I have opened but when I came home I read reviews and they were terrible! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi hi :)
ReplyDeletebased on your expertise in this field of drugstore clearance, do you think the sale will continue to the end of January 2014?
thankie!
Oh no, are these clearanced items being discontinued?
ReplyDeleteMy cvs isnt marking the milani rose d oro as 75 % only the other one :((
ReplyDeleteI can't believe #9 is clearance.... Off to buy like 10. Such an amazing shade! Thanks so much for linking to me! Xo
ReplyDeleteI also bought the Berry Flirtatious blush from Revlon - it's so nice! Thank you for the recommendations, I am definitely going to keep an eye out for the SH pencils, they seem to be sold out at most CVS stores around here already.
ReplyDeleteBack In My Gloria Days is gorgeous, I need to get a backup.
ReplyDeleteBecause I am a student all my local CVS's are not doing the sell. BUT I am going home this week and I can't wait to go shopping!!! Thanks for this post and your master list, I will be bringing it with me to the store!
ReplyDeleteI got so much make up now that my lip product pouch is about to burst and already asked for the ELF holiday pallets on my list for Christmas, but I did use the Hone I'm Strong shampoo and conditioner all thanks to you G for months and had to stop using it because my hair started getting damaged and had to change it up and have a new hair care routine. It was good but was sad to say goodbye to them.
ReplyDeleteI just did a beauty haul as well where I was able to get products for 50-75% off at CVS and Walgreens. Thank God for sales.
ReplyDeleteThoughtsofglam.com
I had a weird and embarrassing situation at CVS with the sale and I wondered if you guys have experienced this. Items were priced with the 50 and 75% off stickers and when they rang up full price, the clerk REFUSED to line-item discount them. Is this normal and/or right for CVS? I have never experienced this before. I understand them not being marked down and not stickered but if they are, shouldn't she have given me that price?
ReplyDeleteyes, the cashier should have very well changed the price...if they are marked with a clearance sticker, they should change the price
DeleteThat's what I thought. I put in a complaint and used her cashier number. I hate to be a grinch during the holidays but that wasn't right and she also accused me of putting on clearance stickers on full-price product!
DeleteThis happened to me as well with a Revlon Just bitten lip stain that was 75% off but rang up 10.79. I bought quite a few non-makeup items as well and didn't notice until I was out of the store, but walked right back and asked the cashier to refund it. She was very nice and did just that, so I was happy!
DeleteGood, CVS Corporate is REALLY good at getting those types of situations fixed..
DeleteOh geez louis! I cant wait to hit up these clearance sales! Getting up bright and early tomorrow. :)
