I feel like brands have been listening to some of us whine about the low SPF in many affordable BB and CC Creams, and they're doing something about it! Recently we've see a new Neutrogena BB Cream with SPF30, and a new line of L'Oreal BB Creams with SPF30 and SPF50. I am so ridiculously excited to see higher SPFs in these new products, and I KNOW I'm not alone.

Review: NEW Avon Mega Effects Mascara

The Wonderbrush

Whenever something is totally new or different, it immediately becomes polarizing. When Avon first launched this mascara (with the "The Wonderbrush"), I saw comment after comment about it and each comment fell within one of two camps. There's the "Oooh, how cool! I can't wait to try it" camp, and the "Eeek! That looks like a torture device" camp. I don't think I've come across anyone who is in the middle here--it's one extreme or the other.

So with this review, I'm striving to be as objective as I can possibly be, but I do want to state that I'm in the first of the two camps above. Whenever I see a new beauty product that's different or innovative, I generally run towards it, not away from it. I love gimmicks or even things that have just a whisper of "gimmick" about them, so I was absolutely thrilled when Avon sent this new mascara to me for review. So here we go!

I posted a pic of this mascara on my Instagram feed a few weeks ago and there was lots of excitement in the comments--if you haven't seen it yet, take a look:

The first-of-its-kind Wonderbrush replaces the standard wand with a new multi-dimensional brush that lifts lashes from root to tip in a  whole new way. It's been a while since I purchased an Avon nail polish, but I have a long, long history with Avon nail colors, going back to the 70s when that's all my mom would wear (and I would covet her bottles with the long, pointy white caps).

A month or so ago, when Avon was having one of their free shipping promotions, I decided to pick up Honeydew Dazzle (from the Forbidden Fruits Collection) since it was on sale at the time. I think I paid $2.99 for it (regular price: $6). These polishes often go on sale, however I don't know how long the Forbidden Fruit Collection will be sticking around so if you want this shade, I wouldn't wait too long.
