Avon Mega Effects Mascara
(retail: $10 on the Avon website)
The first-of-its-kind Wonderbrush replaces the standard wand with a new multi-dimensional brush that lifts lashes from root to tip in a whole new way. Unlike other mascara wands, it works to fit the curve of your eyes and with a bigger bristle area combs through lashes easily allowing phenomenal clump-free volume and 40% more mascara to be applied to the lash. With Avon’s Mega Effects, eyes look bigger and lashes look darker, denser and more dramatic. Mega Effects is a breakthrough in mascara, creating a complete lash transformation.
Avon Mega Effects Mascara is $10 and is now available through Avon representatives and avon.com.
I will be reviewing this in the near future but, in the meantime, I'd love to know what you think! Do think you'll give it a shot? Have you already tried it?
One of my fav MU artists on YouTube uses a similar technique with an eyelash comb but this looks so much easier and less messy. I will have to grab one of these! Thanks, G!
ReplyDeleteoooh, i'm really curious to know which mua you are referring to! i love finding new people to watch on youtube!
DeleteYou are so welcome and I can't wait to hear how you like it! :)
DeleteTo L Hillmer- is the MUA you referred to Wayne Goss? If not, could you please tell me who? I would love to see the technique demonstrated on YouTube. Btw, Goss has posted a lot of videos on YouTube that are usually pretty good. He has one about using one of the metal lash combs to apply mascara.
DeleteI just ordered mine. It looks interesting to try.
ReplyDeleteTrying to be open minded about this but i'm so clumsy it would just end badly for me, lol.I can't tell you how many times I poked myself in the eye with the round ball mascara wands. But this is interesting to say the least. I think the most surprising thing about it is that this is from Avon.
ReplyDeleteWoah, this mascara looks so different! It looks pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI LOOOVVEEEE this mascara! It gives me amazing length. The wand takes a little getting used to, but it's a fun change. :)
ReplyDeleteThe mascara looks kind of scary!
ReplyDeleteI will eagerly await your review.
ReplyDeleteoh my word....i had seen a promo for this but only the side view, not the view that makes it apparent you are raking your lashes! haha. i'm curious about it...i always curl my lashes before applying mascara, and i wonder if that would make the process messier with this applicator.
ReplyDeleteI just picked one up over the wknd, there was an Avon lady at a local Italian feast of all places! I couldn't wait to try it, and yesterday I took it for a test drive and so far so good. I never use mascara w/out curling my lashes first, and it didn't pose any problems. I used a different technique on one eye, and they both came out the same anyway. Really good, no smudging...but I think I can credit the Milani eye primer for that.
DeleteAgreed on waiting for your review! I think I need to "see it in action" before giving it a try... it looks kind of intimidating!
ReplyDeleteI ordered one today since they're doing free shipping. I figure at $10 it's worth a try.
ReplyDeletewhoa...very cool. I might try it just for the application technique, but I'm excited for your upcoming review because some mascara formulas just aren't impressive, despite neat wand styles, etc. For me, if it doesn't thicken lashes without disappearing mid-day, it doesn't matter what is going on with the wand(s).

ReplyDeleteI have it already, and I love it!! It took me a couple of times to get used to the brush and not get mascara all over my eyes, but it really gets all the lashes and it looks really great on the eyes. I am definitely getting it again.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be the lone dissenter, but...I kinda hated this. I actually took advantage of Avon's return policy and got my 10 bucks back. It seemed to go from too natural of a look to spider lashes in one extra coat. I had high hopes but was disappointed. Oh well, onto the search for Voluminous Butterfly. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe thing that bugs me about this is the fact that we can't re-use it.
ReplyDeleteLol, I mean I know we don't re-use our mascara wands but I feel like it would be a waste to throw this wand away.
It's not like we can save it, clean it and dip it into another mascara since it would never fit in another tube except Avon's.
it can be done if you use an old fashioned "cake mascara", or if you paint the wand with your mascara of choice...then you would have the hassle of cleaning the Avon applicator after each use. :/
DeleteI purchased this back in June when I was traveling to Brazil. It must have been enough of a success there to bring it to the US market. I found that it is a novel applicator but the formula is a bit wet and takes a long time to dry leaving black marks as you blink for the first few minutes. I didn't feel the results were worth the extra pain of the wet formula.
