Target beauty sightings
If you haven't been to Target in a while, there are some interesting things popping up that I thought I'd share with you today. I spotted these products myself over the course of a week, bopping from Targets to Targets in my area, but I have heard from several of you who have also spotted some of these products at your local Target stores, so you should probably be able to find these in your area too!
First up, some Target-exclusives:

Spotted: New Drugstore Beauty Products
Here's a collection of several new-for-2014 nail, body, skin and hair products that I have personally spotted over the past several weeks. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to alert me to any of these products via email, social media and here on the blog!
Oh! Before I forget, I just posted an update to my Sally Hansen Summer 2014 Limited Edition Salon Effects post. There are three additional designs in this collection, in addition to the four designs I originally showed you. Thanks to everyone who took the time to share info about those!
PLEASE NOTE: I understand that some of these products may not be considered brand new to you, and you may have already spotted them in your area (or even own them). But different retailers/regions receive things at different times, so please keep in mind that, for some of us, these are still quite new. Thanks for your understanding!

Review: Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo
If you've been reading my blog for a while, you probably know that I'm a dry shampoo junkie (oily hair and skin + sideswept bangs means I go through dry shampoos like water). I have reviewed many, many drugstore dry shampoos on this blog over the years, but this year my game has been slipping. There are so many new-for-2014 dry shampoos at the drugstore that I can barely keep up!
I will be reviewing both of the new-for-2014 Suave dry shampoos in the near future, and I'll probably review at least one of the three new Pantene dry shampoos soon as well. Today, I'm reviewing one of the three new Herbal Essences dry shampoos. I haven't been able to find the Body Envy Dry Shampoo in my area yet and, unfortunately, I won't be reviewing the Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo because I strongly disliked the scent (sorry). So let's take a look at Naked, which is the third new dry shampoo formula from Herbal Essences:

Also, I want to thank everyone who took the time to let me know about these new products via social media--it is much appreciated! So let's get started:
First up, I spotted the brand new Almond & Verbena Body Wash at Kmart the other day and it went straight into my cart. It smells amazing, but I'll save the details for my review (coming soon!).

Review: Aveeno Active Naturals Pure Renewal Dry Shampoo
Longtime readers know that I'm a bit of a dry shampoo connoisseur and I've lost count of how many dry shampoos I've reviewed here over the years. I've got oily skin, oily roots and side-swept bangs, so dry shampoos are a necessity for me when I skip a day between washings. A few sprays and my bangs can return from the Land of Grease to live another day!
I was very excited when I received the new Aveeno dry shampoo for review a while back because I've had good experiences with Aveeno haircare (I'm a big fan of Aveeno Nourish+ Moisture Shampoo, which won my Cheapie Award for "Best New Shampoo" in 2009). I've been using this dry shampoo for over a month now, so let's see how it's been working for me.

Review: New Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo
I know I've said it many times on this blog, but I have a slight addiction to dry shampoos. Having oily skin and side-swept bangs, the hair that rests on my forehead tends to get oily much quicker than the rest of my hair, so to extend the time between shampoos, dry shampoo can be my best friend. I've reviewed several dry shampoos over the years, and even though there are a few drugstore versions that I love, I'm always thrilled try new releases. So today I'd like to show you the Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo, which I was sent for review. This product is part of the new Dove Style+Care range that I posted about a while back (click here if you'd like more info).

Review: New Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo
Longtime readers of this blog know that I fancy myself as a bit of a dry shampoo connoisseur. I've reviewed many drugstore dry shampoos over the years from brands such as TRESemme,
Batiste, got2b, Psssst and Salon Grafix (just do a search if you'd like to
see them).
Since I have oily hair, oily skin and side-swept bangs, dry shampoos really come in handy for me and I use them probably once or twice a week. Since my bangs rest on my forehead and my skin is oily, that means I can never go more than 24 hours before my bangs start to look stringy and greasy.

Last year at around this time, I reviewed the then-new Suave Dry Shampoo and today I'd like to show you the newest dry shampoo from Sauve, Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo, which was given to me recently for review.

Review: New got2b Fat-tastic Fresh & Full Dry Shampoo
If you're a long-time reader of this blog, you know that I have a bit of an obsession with dry shampoos. I've reviewed many dry shampoos in the past few years, including those from Batiste, Suave, Pssssst, Salon Grafix and TRESemme. My favorite on the higher end of the price scale is Batiste, and my favorite on the lower end of the price scale is Suave (you can click here to see all of my past reviews).
When I saw that this new got2b dry shampoo was a volumizing dry shampoo, I had to get it:
got2b Fat-tastic Fresh & Full Dry Shampoo
(retail: around $6, 4.3 oz)
I picked up got2be Fat-tastic Fresh & Full Dry Shampoo a few weeks ago when Rite Aid was running a BOGOFREE sale on got2b products. In terms of value, it's not as good of a deal as Suave Dry Shampoo, which is 5 oz and retails for around $2.50. got2be Fresh & Full is 4.3 oz and it retails for around $6 (for reference, Batiste is 5.05 oz and retails for around $8.50).
Since the word "collagen" appears on both the front and back of this can, I thought that it might actually contain collagen. It doesn't, so it's really just claiming to have a "collagen effect" (i.e., plumper hair).
The reason I'm so obsessed with dry shampoos is because I have oily skin and side-swept bangs. If I go a day without washing my hair, my bangs will look greasy and separated, which I hate. So dry shampoos are a lifesaver for me and, after using so many, I know exactly what I like, and dislike, in a dry shampoo.
That said, let's take a look at some before-and-afters:
In pic #1, I pulled the top layer of my bangs to the side to reveal the greasy, icky hair that sits on my forehead. This is what my hair looks like after skipping one day of washing.
In pic #2, this is what it looked like immediately after using a few short, quick bursts of Fresh & Full Dry Shampoo. Let me tell you: this stuff is POWERFUL. Let me clarify--the nozzle is powerful. I wasn't prepared for how loud and forceful this nozzle was! It blasted me away and actually startled me for a second! I almost felt like when the guys from Jackass did a parody of the famous Maxell Cassette Tape commercial from the 80s!
Also, I want to point out that this dry shampoo is definitely not invisible after application. You can see the white powder both on my hair and on my fingers in pic #2.
In pic #3, this is what my hair looked like after I worked this dry shampoo into my hair with my fingers.
In pic #4, this is what my hair looked like after I combed my bangs into place. As you can see, my hair has retained its shine, and in person it looked very full and clean!
Although this dry shampoo did leave a white cast behind, once I followed the directions and worked the product in with my fingers, followed by a comb, I found that the white residue disappeared and all that was left behind was cleaner, fuller, shiny hair.
Rice starch is an ingredient in this product (it's also in Batiste), and I truly believe that this is the magic ingredient that seems to "bulk up" my hair and give it nice volume. Rice starch seems to work wonderfully to absorb the oils in my hair as well, and it doesn't leave behind too much of a powdery feel to my hair. In other words, the rice powder gives my hair some "slip" and makes it feel really smooth to the touch, unlike other dry shampoos that feel powdery to the touch after application.
I would like to also mention the fragrance of this dry shampoo, because I simply adore it. If you're familiar with the scent of the Bath & Body Works Shea Cashmere line of body products, to me, this product smells very similar to that line. It's sweet, creamy and warm, with a hint of a floral note, and I find it quite comforting. In fact, it might be my favorite scent of all the dry shampoos I own (although I really love the tart grapefruit scent of Suave's dry shampoo).
FINAL VERDICT: I find the new got2b Fat-tastic Fresh & Full Dry Shampoo to be quite comparable to my beloved Batiste dry shampoo. Both products contain rice starch, which tends to work beautifully with my hair to add volume and absorb oil. I absolutely love the fragrance of this product (sweet, creamy, slightly floral) and I love the results after I use it. All of the oils in my hair seem to disappear and my hair is left looking cleaner, fuller and shiny. If you have darker hair, or red hair, you might want to take a little extra time to work this product in after application to avoid a white cast. The nozzle on this product is pretty powerful (and loud)--it might startle you if you're not prepared for it so consider yourself warned. Other than that, I think that you might really enjoy this one if you're already a fan of Batiste.
Have you tried the new got2be Fat-tastic Fresh & Full Dry Shampoo? If so, what do you think of it? If not, do you think this sounds like it might be a good fit for you?

Odds 'n' Ends
I've got some interesting little tidbits to share with you in this edition of Odds 'n' Ends, so let's get right to it:
- If you got swept up in the Revlon Perplex polish craze a while back, there's a NEW LE polish from Revlon on the way, and it looks to be another dupe! Check out Beauty & Soul's post here for details.
- Speaking of polish, there's another NEW Sinful Colors shade on the loose (click here to see the ones I mentioned earlier). This one's a pretty blue called Fly Away. Check out Nightly Nail's post here for swatches! I really wish Sinful Colors would make a counter display that featured ALL of their newest shades, instead of introducing them randomly (and sometimes just putting them in the core collection racks without any introduction).
- Thanks to my wonderful reader Sabrina for the heads-up that LORAC is going to be on Haute Look THIS MONDAY, 3/14! LORAC is one of my favorite higher-end beauty brands, so I'm very excited to see what they have to offer. Be sure to log onto Haute Look bright and early on Monday before everything sells out!
- Cherry Culture fans, don't forget that the March Madness Sale is going on RIGHT NOW (20% off everything on the site!). I'd hurry if you want anything because I know things tend to go out of stock quickly when they run these sales.
- I've been receiving some comments and emails regarding an issue with the new Suave Dry Shampoo I reviewed a while back, so I wanted to take a second to address this. Some of you have said that the can worked fine the first few times you used it, and then when you went back to use it again, you found that the can was completely empty. Although this has not personally happened to me, I let my contact at Suave know of your concerns, and I have this message I wanted to share with you:
Users should be sure to shake well before each spray and fully press down the dispenser when applying. We are also directing people with further questions to contact Customer Service here: http://bit.ly/fyHxvq.
Thanks for reading!
