Review: Bath & Body Works Holiday 2011 Limited Edition Liplicious Lip Glosses

With the Bath & Body Works event that's happening today, I thought it would be the perfect time to post my review of some of the Holiday 2011 Limited Edition Liplicious Lip Glosses that I recently received for review. Review: Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Color in Glass Slipper

Even if you're not a nail polish person, this flakie top coat might just win you over. If you're unfamiliar with  Glass Slipper, this shade is part of the newly-redesigned Sally Hansen Diamond Strength collection that I first blogged about back in October. When I saw this polish at my local Rite Aid, I just could not resist. I had to have it and I think I paid around $4.50 for it (not on sale).

As you can see, the bottles are different now (thicker glass, more facets and just all-around prettier):

Spotted: new Rimmel Glam'Eyes HD Shadows

I'd like to thank three lovely readers for the photos in this post. Within days of each other, readers Jess, Jakeline and Kim were all nice enough to share pics of the newest eyeshadow palettes from Rimmel, so I've got LOTS of great shots to share with you today.

It makes sense now as to why the older Rimmel quads are on clearance at CVS right now. They're making room for these!

G's answer: This has been an incredibly tough year for many of us in the US and around the globe and honestly, with my birthday so close to Christmas, I've practically begged everyone in my life to NOT buy me anything for Christmas this year. That extra burden is too much right now and, besides, I already have the greatest gifts I could ever hope for: a roof over my head, food in my kitchen, my precious family, boyfriend and friends...what more could I possibly want? Can you believe just one more week until Christmas? Where did the time go??

CVS shoppers: If your local CVS isn't already a 24-hour store, please note that it will be open until MIDNIGHT now through 12/23. That should help satisfy your urges to shop the Beauty Clearance Sale, right? Also, there are two good deals on NON-clearance Revlon products this week: Grow Luscious mascara and several different lip colors (more info below) are $6.99 each with $4 back in Extra Bucks, bringing your final total down to $2.99 each (limit 6). Also, all Revlon nail colors are $4.99 this week with $3 Extra Bucks (limit 6).

Rite Aid shoppers: If you've been looking for the new Revlon Lip Butters, I've noticed that many of the Rite Aids in my area have new, full counter displays up on the higher shelves (I even spotted one in the artificial nail aisle so look everywhere), and this week there's a BOGO1/2OFF sale on Revlon lip or nail products, PLUS, when you buy 2 products you get $3 +UP Rewards. Also, don't forget the Season of Savings promotion. There are some great deals that qualify for this promotion this week, which I will clearly indicate below in red.

Walgreens shoppers: If you like Creme of Nature haircare (including the Argan Oil Gloss & Shine Polisher I reviewed a while back) there's a GREAT deal this week: if you buy 1 of any participating Creme of Nature products you get $5 Register Rewards. The Argan Oil Gloss & Shine Polisher is on sale this week for $7.99 (regular price $8.49) so that will bring your total down to just $2.99 after Register Rewards!

I'm back (with an important message for new readers/drugstore shoppers)

Hello!! I just got my computer back from the repair shop and I'm SO happy to be back!

My first official post is going to be the Weekly Drugstore Makeup Sales, but before I post that, I want to address an issue regarding CVS Extra Bucks, specifically for new readers or those who aren't familiar with the CVS rewards program.

Last week when I did my review of the Physicians Formula Nude palette, I mentioned that CVS was running a sale where if you spend $10 on Physicians Formula, you get $5 Extra Bucks. This deal would bring your total down on the Nude palette to about 1/2off ($5.99 instead of $10.99).

After I posted about that deal, I received some comments and emails (some of them quite angry, actually) letting me know when they made their Physicians Formula purchase last week, they ended up paying full price for their item.

PLEASE let me make this perfectly clear: when there's an Extra Bucks deal, you ALWAYS pay full price initially. The discount comes AFTER your transaction, in the form of EXTRA BUCKS, which print out on your receipt. If you spent $10 or more last week on Physicians Formula (non-clearance items), you should have received $5 in Extra Bucks on your receipt. For those new to CVS, Extra Bucks are just like store credit. You can use them to purchase most products in the store and they're as good as cash. 

I did NOT mislead anyone when I posted about this deal last week. In fact, here's the exact statement I made on my Physicians Formula Nude Palette review:

"...CVS is running a sale this week on Physicians Formula. You get $5 Extra Bucks when you spend $10 on Physicians Formula this week, so you can get this palette for $5.99 (regular retail price is $10.99) through this Saturday, 12/17."

If you go to any other couponing or drugstore-oriented blogs on the internet, you'll find wording very similar, if not identical to mine. This is how weekly deals work at the drugstores. At CVS they're called Extra Bucks, at Rite Aid they're called +UP Rewards and at Walgreens they're called Register Rewards, but they ALL function the same way: as store credit. So the savings for deals like this come on your NEXT purchase. Instead of paying say, $20 for something next time you shop at CVS, you'll only have to pay $15 if you use the Extra Bucks you received when you made your Physicians Formula purchase.

Since CVS is running the exact same deal on Physicians Formula again THIS WEEK, I wanted to write this post ahead of time so that I don't receive any angry emails or comments again this time around.

I hope that helps clarify things for new readers and/or new drugstore shoppers.

Hi Lovelies,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having some serious technical issues right now with my computer, so that's why instead of seeing the usual 3, 4, 5, 6+ new blog posts from me per day, you've only seen 1 in the past 24 hours.

After being on the phone with tech support for six hours today, I still don't have the issue resolved but I hope to be back up and running either by tomorrow or Sunday.

I am SO sorry for this momentary pause in new content. This could not have come at a worse time for me as I have several new product reviews, sightings, sale info and more to share with you. I can use the boyfriend's computer for certain things, but my image files are on MY computer, so I'm kind of at a standstill until this issue has been resolved.
