New Nail Kiosks Showcase Newest Nail Trends and Product Innovation
WOONSOCKET, R.I., Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CVS/pharmacy, the nation's leading retail pharmacy, today announced the launch of the new Nail HQ™, special in-store kiosks that showcase the hottest nail trends and product innovation.  Available in more than 2,000 CVS/pharmacy locations starting this month, the Nail HQ™ is the latest advancement for beauty shoppers, providing easy access to nail innovations, including drugstore firsts like at-home gel kits and on-trend shades from former salon-exclusive essie.
With nail care sales increasing by 40 percent since 2011 and growing by double-digits each year since 2008, CVS/pharmacy continues to support demand for the latest innovations in the nail category by making even more room in-store to offer all of the options customers want.
"With nail care sales booming, it's clear that customers are looking to CVS/pharmacy to find the latest innovation that the category has to offer," said Cheryl Mahoney, Vice President of Beauty for CVS/pharmacy.  "With the launch of the CVS/pharmacy Nail HQ™, we are able to feature a wide variety of the best new nail trends and technologies that she can experience in our stores and then apply for herself at home-all with the added convenience of shopping at her local CVS/pharmacy."
Nail HQ™ will debut a former salon-exclusive – gel nail technology – with new products from SensatioNail and Sally Hansen. Nail HQ™ will also feature an array of new shade options and allow shoppers to view polish shades outside of the bottles through nail color strip displays.  The popular Nuance Salma Hayek line, a CVS/pharmacy exclusive brand developed in partnership with actress Salma Hayek, will be introducing the 32-sku Nail Lacquer collection.
Leading nail brand, essie will also launch their newest collections at the Nail HQ™ every month.  "We are thrilled to partner with CVS/pharmacy on this amazing collaboration," says Essie Weingarten, Founder and Global Director, essie. "It's very exciting to see the nail category take its well-deserved center stage across the country."
In addition to Nail HQ™, CVS/pharmacy will continue to stock its shelves with trend-setting nail launches and will be providing exclusive nail content on Facebook http://facebook.com/CVSBeautyClub and Twitter http://twitter.com/CVSBeautyClub including inspirational nail art all month-long.
Nail HQ™ is the latest innovation from CVS/pharmacy to improve the beauty shopping experience at the drugstore. Other recent advancements include the introduction of the ExtraCare® Beauty Club loyalty program, which rewards members with $5 ExtraBucks® Rewards for every $50 cumulatively spent on qualifying beauty products.

But that's not all! Thanks to reader dollhouse, who spotted the Nail HQ at her local CVS,  I have some pics to share with you, with even more exciting news:

See that empty spot? That's where the newly-reformulated Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure collection is going to go:

And guess what? Reader Kate shared with me on Facebook today that she already spotted the newly-reformulated Complete Salon Manicure polishes at her Walgreens!
Kate writes:
I was just at one of my local Walgreens and saw a display of new Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes. I'm assuming they are the reformulated ones (they were in te same shaped bottles) because there were quite a few new colors! Some that I know were previous limited editions too. Also, some of them are the same colors from the previous line but had different names (some also had the same name).

How exciting that Sally Hansen is bringing back some of their Limited Edition shades with the relaunch! But back to the Nail HQ at CVS--there's another new line in this display that some of us have been eagerly awaiting:

Remember when I posted some pics of this new line back in August? It's been in Canada since then, and it has FINALLY landed here in the US:

And here's a pic of the other side of the Nail HQ at CVS:

If you're a polish lover, I'm guessing you're probably as excited as I am about the new Nail HQ at CVS!

To recap:
  • Nuance Salma Hayek is launching 32 nail color shades
  • Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail Enamel has landed in the US
  • The reformulated Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes have landed at Walgreens and soon at CVS (and they're bringing back past limited edition colors)
  • Essie will luanch their newest collections at the CVS Nail HQ "every month"
Have you spotted Nail HQ at your local CVS yet? Thoughts?

Thanks again to Mary and ilj2397 for the links to the press release. Thanks to dollhouse for the awesome pictures, and thanks to Kate for the tip on the Complete Salon Manicure polishes!

  1. Looks like they're doing somewhat of an Ulta-style display here. I like it! Going to check this out tomorrow, I'm in RI (CVS HQ) so I am sure I can find it. Thanks for sharing!

  3. The layout at Walgreens with the new Sally Hansens were laid out in a similar way to CVS' Nail HQ, though the same colors were laid out side-by-side instead of one behind another. The Essie polishes were the same way. I'm kicking myself for forgetting to take my phone in with me to take a picture of the display (I would've run back in if I knew my hungry kids wouldn't throw a tantrum or my husband look at me like I was nuts. Lol)! There were some very pretty new colors and even a duochrome (it looked very similar to SH Black Tie minus the sparkle). I think I'm going to have to go back for a few and then I can take pictures too.

  5. This looks really fun! The nearest CVS to me is so lame that I rarely bother going there. Its a bit of a ride. Anyway this is what the nail polishes looked like at CVS on the Strip in Las Vegas. You certainly have brought us alot of good information today G. Thank you...now go relax! LOL

  12. This is so exciting - I'm going to have to find a new spot for nail collection - the shelf on the laundry room is slowly filling and my husband has caught onto my polish addiction.

  14. Okay, the CVS around the corner from my house had darn well better get one of these.

I'm excited for the new Revlons. I've loved every single one of the Colorstay line that I've tried and I hope these are more of the same. (The regular and Top Speed polishes are good but not as consistent - there are some really tricky ones to work with in those collections, whereas I've found the Colorstay ones practically apply themselves.)

  15. Does anyone know how much the new Revlon nail polishes are?

  16. This display is already up if you go to the CVS at the intersection of Navajo/Fletcher Pkwy next to Jo Ann's in La Mesa

  17. If you get the chance, look for a color called Gilty Party #130 - I think it is a dupe of OPI's Designer De Better but I do not have the original to compare it to.
