Spotted: New NYC Limited Edition Color Rush! Collection

I spotted the new NYC Limited Edition Color Rush! Collection at Rite Aid the other day, so of course I wanted to share (plus, I'm including a bonus polish comparison at the end of this post):

NYC Limited Edition Color Rush! Collection

NYC Expert Last Nail Colors first made an appearance in Spring 2011 and they're BACK! It looks like NYC is going to save this formula for Limited Edition collections, since I never saw them added to the core collection wall displays in my area (have you?). Anyway, there's a whole new crop of LE shades to show you and LE eyeshadow palettes too:

I didn't jot down the shade names, but I can tell you what these colors are like in person:

Gold with fine glitter, orange creme, orange with fine glitter.

Green creme, hot pink creme, blue creme.

White creme, teal creme, cherry red creme.

Silver metallic, lavender creme, clear.

Rose pink creme, purple creme.

It's hard to know without swatching these, but in both of these palettes, it looks like MOST of the colors are mattes (or maybe satins).

And there's a tear-pad with coupons on this display too:

Now for the comparison. I took the orange from the NYC display and wanted to show you what it looked like compared to a few other popular orange shades:

L to R: Sinful Colors Citrine, NYC Traffic Jam Orange, Sinful Colors Clementine, Essie Fear or Desire

In my photo, Sinful Colors Citrine looks like it has a lot more pink to it than it does in real life. In person, Citrine and NYC Traffic Jam Orange actually look a lot alike. So if you haven't been able to find Citrine, this may be a good alternative.

Have you spotted the NYC Color Rush! collection in your area yet? I've been very happy with the NYC Expert Last Nail Polishes I already own from last spring (click here for swatches) so I'm excited to pick up some more.

  3. Yes! I just saw it today! That cherry red in the pictures is Rush Hour Red and it's actually a jelly! I picked up Rush Hour Red, Midnight Lilac, Flashlight, Downtown Traffic and Silver Glitz. I grabbed the ones I knew I wanted first and I'm going to try to pick up the rest later.

  4. I actually love the NYC individual eyes eyeshadows!! the highlight and primer are kinda silly and useless but the shadows are nice and pigmented :) i'm excited top try the Le ones!

  5. How much are they? Also do you think they look like any of the colors NYC has already had or have out?

    1. These are $1.99 or $2.99, I believe. And they don't seem to remind me of the existing NYC shades too much, but I didn't do a very close comparison for dupes...

  6. I saw this at CVS (not my usual locations) about 3 weeks ago when I was on the hunt for certain clearance items lol. It had been so picked over though. Hopefully I'll come across another display because that lavendar creme looks very nice. :)

    1. Hi Amelania,
Just a fyi- Lavendar is an alternate spelling of lavender, as is lavende. :)

  8. I picked up quite a few of the polishes (totally happy with all of them), but my favorite I have to say is definitely the teal (it's actually a jelly but perfectly opaque in 2 coats)...it's such a lovely color and it lasted 1 week without any chipping at all. Also, the blue based eyeshadow palette is a NO-GO, the colors look nice in the pan and in the promo, but swatched horribly.

  9. I saw the display at my CVS yesterday & almost missed it! It was somewhat hidden since it was so close to the floor & not at eye level. I almost purchased a L'Oreal nail polish that looked similar to the orange creme in this display but was $5-6. After spotting the display I ended up buying the colors Traffic Jam Orange and White Mania & used the accompanying coupon on the tear-pad.

  10. It looks like the 80's are coming back full force in the new color stories across the board. Being that I'm officially out of high school 25 years, it's a bit of a walk down memory lane.

  14. the gold glitter isn't anything new. Just a typical glitter topcoat. I picked it up hoping it would be more pigmented like an OLD Merle Norman polish I used to have. (liked it so much I literally used the entire bottle in a couple years).

Downtown traffic is an sheer orange jelly glitter topcoat. Doesn't look so great on it's own, but over Sinful's Citrine it is DIVINE.

They were 2.49 at the rite aid I went to, 1.99 if there are any of the coupons left. Luckily I was able to get the coupons as well.
