A new limited edition collection made up entirely of jellies, you say? By Sally Hansen, you say? I'M IN.
That's pretty much all reader A Mani Maniac had to say last night when she left a comment on the You Tell Me page about this new collection, and I was off to social media

NEW Sally Hansen Summer 2014 Limited Edition Color Destinations
Palm Beach Jellies Triple Shine Collection
The shades in this collection are: Water Melon, Sea Through, Ice Tint, Vitamin D-light, Jell-ous and Grape Jelly.
Both A Mani Maniac and Karen spotted this display at their local Meijer stores, which comes as no surprise since Meijer seems to get the new Sally Hansen collections earlier than the rest of the retailers in the country. So if you live near a Meijer, consider yourself very lucky as you might get these weeks (or even a month) before the rest of us. I would expect this collection to pop up at other retailers by April, but you might see them earlier (fingers crossed).
Oh the jelly sandwiches I am envisioning in my mind with these polishes. This morning, A Mani Maniac posted close-up bottle-shots of these polishes on her Facebook page and tagged me on them, so of course I want to share them with you--click here to check them out. I"m telling you, those blues and that green need to be mine...immediately. A Mani Maniac mentioned in her original comment last night that these jellies reminded her of the new OPI Sheer Tints, and I'm getting that vibe as well--I don't own any of the Sheer Tints yet but I'm curious to see how they might compare.
One more thing: For the last year or so, I've noticed that Sally Hansen likes to have a central theme and apply that theme to their various limited edition polish lines. For example, remember the Spring 2014 "Color Vibrations" Xtreme Wears, and Insta-Dris? And how about the Fall 2013 "Rent The Runway" Insta-Dris, Xtreme Wears and Salon Effects? So I'm GUESSING that the "Color Destinations" title you see at the top of this jellies display is going to apply to other new Summer 2014 collections from Sally Hansen (perhaps we'll see some fun new Color Destinations Xtreme Wear glitters to go with these jellies for jelly sandwiches?). I have no clue, but that's my best guess. Stay tuned!
Have you spotted the Limited Edition Palm Beach Jellies in your area yet? I'm thinking that an interactive sightings map might be in order for this one, considering that there's only two bottles of each shade in this display. Please leave a comment below if you'd like to see a map for this one and I'll get it up ASAP.
Thanks again, Karen, for answering my call for a pic of this display, and thanks A Mani Maniac for being the first to alert me to this collection! I really appreciate it!
Oh boy! I'm going to be on the hunt for these!! Would love a map!
ReplyDeleteMe too! And looking at your comment and the ones below, I'll definitely make a map! :)
DeleteWow! These look amazing! I was just at Meijer Sunday and did not see them but will start stalking the two near me this week. And yes, you might as well make a map because I think these are going to be a hot ticket. :D
ReplyDeleteLol!! You got it, Carol! :) And I hope you find them SOON!
DeleteOh, yes please to the map! :-)
ReplyDeleteWill do it tomorrow, Jammies! ;)
DeleteAhh this is great! I've been wanting jelly polishes ever since your post on the new wet n wild ones :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you find BOTH collections soon! :D
DeleteI haven't seen these yet, but I found new summer Complete Salon Manicure shades over the weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I haven't seen those yet!! Where did you find them, and can you describe? Are they cremes, shimmers, glitters or...? Thanks!!
DeleteWhen I saw the display name, I was excited. I'm from Palm Beach and was hopeful for polishes relating to the area. But the names of the polishes aren't that exciting. Doesn't mean I won't be buying them but still.... Lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry! I actually love the names, but I'm weird like that. I love anything having to do with translucency and these names really evoke that. :)
DeleteTHOSE LOOK AWESOME oh my god. Definitely buying them whenever I find them :)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you, dollhouse! ;)
DeleteNext time I'm out shopping I'll have to take a second look at this line. I wasn't sold at first glance.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to have one or two... which would they be?
Jellies aren't for everyone but they're certainly for ME! Hopefully the first people who see them in my area will pass them by too, so I can get my grubby hands on them. Lol!!
DeleteAs for the shades, like I mentioned in my post, I will be grabbing the blues and the green FOR SURE. :)
No, I mean the Triple Shine collection as a whole. They just didn't seem worth it to me. Was I wrong? Are they worth a 2nd look? Which polishes from the core line are the best?
DeleteI like jelly polishes... I'm a glitter girl after all... and will try this new jellies then reprtI back. Harmon here I come...
Just to be clear... I have not seen these jelly polishes yet. When I do I will try them all and let you know.
DeleteI passed on the regular running line.
Ooooh, I'm sorry I read that wrong! :) I have actually not be tired the core line of Triple Shines either! I haven't seen them in the permanent display yet, and counter /floor displays are always wiped out of the glitter polishes that i want from that line. I'm just waiting for them to be in the permanent display...and for a good sale. :)
DeleteIn theory, the core line looks great, but up close the polishes didn't seem to deliver. My tendency is to buy collections of polishes. It's silly but I like that, so I try to distance myself from new lines. Otherwise I get in trouble by spending too much. I only buy when on good sale to limit the damage I might do to my wallet. Nail polish is my curse and my joy. I change my polish every day.
DeleteG- have you checked Walgreens?? The cosmetic wall should be done by now. Sally Hansen looks pretty awesome now. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but the way everything is set up this year impressed me. Lol
DeleteI like Grape Jelly and Sea Through! I'm guessing these are Sally Hansen's answer to those Opi Tints.Nice range of shades!
ReplyDeleteYep, I mentioned that in my post too! :) I'm very curious how they compare, especially since Coty owns both brands...
DeleteI was fortunate to have a set of the OPI Sheer Tints show up for review. Based on the bottles, the only one that seems to have a close SH counterpart is OPI Be Magentale With Me, which is very similar to SH Water Melon. The OPI orange is lighter/yellower than SH and the OPI purple and blue are darker. Though on the nail, who knows; I've been fooled by bottles before.
DeleteThanks so much for this, Karen! That's extremely helpful to know, and I'm actually glad they're not just repeats of the OPI shades!
DeleteWill you be doing a comparison post? I'd love to know iif the textures are similar.
I will be doing a comparison post very soon, yes. :) Having now swatched them, I am sorry to say that these Sally Hansen jellies are a lot more sheer than I hoped/expected, at least at the number of coats I was willing to do. Their formula is a lot thinner than the OPI tints, so that may have something to do with it.
DeleteI already started hunting even before I saw a photo on your IG feed! I really need to check these out before buying OPI! Even though I know Meijer gets everything early I figured I would start looking anyway! Because ...who knows sometimes the KMart locally gets these things pretty quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh girlie, I hope you find them... SOON! :)
DeleteOooh yay! I'm crazy for jellies!
ReplyDeleteMe too! ;)
DeleteOoooh boy, I *love* nail polishes that are transparant jellies like this! I've been hoarding my ten-year-old bottles from the Essie Fizz Pop collection (anyone remember those?)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to re-up my supply with this collection. Since it's SH, the price will be right, too!
I remember those!!
DeleteI also read the blog thesilvernail . Wordpress . com, and she had the genius idea of layering jellies over glitters like the new Zoya Magical Pixies! Now I can't wait to try it ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's called a jelly sandwich and I actually link to some of my past jelly sandwich manicures in this post! That's specifically the reason why I'm so excited about this collection! :)
DeleteThe Triple Shines don't work on me at alllll! They are goopy.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried using a few drops of polish thinner to your goopy polishes? Works like a charm for me. :)
DeleteSea Through looks gorgeous! Can't wait to find these.
ReplyDeleteMy Meijer has them! I bought Ice Tint tonight. $4 a bottle. It takes more than one coat to really see the color. It looked like I had a circulation problem! But I liked the line overall.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha yeah I tried the OPI sheer tints and one coat was barely noticeable =(
DeleteTotally not interested, but it's because I found out something about myself. All this time I've been buying stuff for nail art and more complicated designs etc and I'm too damned lazy to use it! lol I just do my base coat a couple coats of color and top coat and I'm done. I don't want to deal with stripers, glitter top coats, jellies, or any of that.
ReplyDeleteI also have no imagination for these things. These remind me of the Maybelline Waters (anyone remember those?) and when I came across them in Dollar Tree I just remember thinking, what the heck am I supposed to do with these??? This was a couple years ago, so anyone thinking they can find them now, sorry.
My mom bought me the full collection of Maybelline Waters when I was a teenager and I hoarded those little bottles for years(I still have orange water) so I was super excited to see this post and even more excited when I snagged three of them at my meijer today XD
DeleteWhy oh why can I never get the pretties in my area?? I live where all there is is Walgreens and CVS as far as pharmacies go. I saw the creme polishes in this line but no jellies anywhere to be found. I have checked at Walmart too and nada. So not fair. *stomps feet while pouting*
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen these, I'm so disappointed. I've been looking like crazy!
