*Frequently Asked Questions*
- IF YOU DO NOT SEE SALE SIGNS OR STICKERS AT YOUR LOCAL CVS, THIS DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT PRODUCTS AREN'T ON CLEARANCE. Take some of the products you see on the Master List to the red scanner box, scan them, and hopefully they'll come up on clearance in the system.
- Some stores/ regions may not put the same items on clearance at the same time (if at all). If you scan products that are on the Master List and you do NOT see them on clearance in the system, they may eventually go on clearance or they may never go on clearance in your region (this sale tends to vary a bit from region to region). Based on previous CVS beauty clearance sales, there are things that others reported on clearance that I NEVER found on clearance in my area, so it can vary from store to store and region to region.
- Based on previous CVS Beauty Clearance Sales, THIS SALE DOES NOT HAVE AN END-DATE. The object of this sale is to get old product out, to make room for new product, so please do not ask when the sale ends. In the past, it has gone on for several weeks; basically until most of the products on clearance are gone.

DeleteOne thing I'd like to add: I've been turned down trying to use coupons during this sale before, but only when the sale price fell below the minimum stated on the coupon. For example, if you had a coupon for $1 off an NYC product of $1.99 or more, and the regular retail price of the item you were trying to purchase was $1.99 but the clearance price was $0.99, they might not accept it. Some stores seem to be more lax with that than others, but just wanted to note that!

Other than that, it's all good! You can also use CVS coupons during this sale (and stack them with manufacturers coupons)! :)

ReplyDeleteAlso, don't forget to go to the scanner box and scan your CVS card for the $4 off $12 cosmetics (excludes nail) coupon. It has been printing out on multiple days for me, but you have to use them quickly because all of mine have an expiration day of 3 days after they are printed.

Just grabbed the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart and the Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pearl Plum. They were not marked, the cashier said they haven't marked them yet because they were sent the stickers but not the clearance list lol. They rang up $1.99 each w/no problem. I used the $2 off coupon for any Revlon product and got them both for a total $ 1.98 + tax!
ReplyDeleteI know that this is a CVS list, and I managed to get a few things! I was wondering if anybody knew if the same markdowns on the same products would be taken at other drugstores like Rite Aid or Walgreens? Is this a brand-wide clearing out or just for CVS? Thank you so much! :)

ReplyDeleteI scanned my card in at the red box, got a $2 off Revlon coupon. I used it on a 75-percent off nail polish and ended up only paying sales tax.
ReplyDelete@tbj Rite Aid is starting their 75% off Cover Girl and 50% L'Oreal products this Sunday in my region (Northeast PA) They are pretty much all the same products that are in the CVS list. I haven't seen anything about Revlon yet.
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up for Los Angeles area readers - I haven't seen any signs yet, and some - but not all - of the items on the master list are scanning at the clearance prices. So, just take the items you are interested in over to the scanner to check.

The CVS in Austin, TX (Brodie/Slaughter) actually had the stickers on for once! The Nearly Naked Foundations for darker skin (including shades Toast, Caramel, Chestnut and another darker one) were on sale.
ReplyDeleteOne tip, I heard there were cosmetic coupons from the CVS machine but it took me 3 tries to get them. So, continue even if the first long string of coupons are useless. I was able to use the $2 off for Revlon and $2 for Maybelline.
I bet they would have allowed a manufacture's coupon too!
Scored 6 items for about $11.
I just purchased the revlon colorstay 16 hour eyeshadow quad in inspired :) Retail price was $7.99 I paid $2.12 including tax :) Going back this weekend for more :)

ReplyDeleteAny luck in New England? I'm in NH. I saw thst the CG mascaras were empty. The Milani Sail Away gone. They were there two days ago. The girl said they were pulled and sent back. Doesn't know about a sale. I scanned a few things from the list. Nothing ! So sad...I'll try another cvs this weekend.

ReplyDeleteI went to CVS the other day and 1 of the $2 Revlon coupon printed from the red box and I was able to get the Colorstay quad in Inspired for free since it's now marked down to $1.95!
ReplyDeleteI went the other day at night to my CVS (San Jose, CA) and I'm not sure if the sale is going on there. None of the products had stickers and I took some items to the scanner and they came up at regular price. I tried asking the guy if he knew about it n of course he had no clue what I was talking about. haha I haven't gone back to ask the girl workers who stock the beauty section. I wanted the Covergirl + Olay foundation in the pot to use as a highlight. :/

ReplyDeleteI bought Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition Mascara (dual-end) - Blackened Brown on clearance and I haven't opened it because I came home and looked for reviews and it's either REALLY bad or REALLY good...... anything that you've reviewed @Nouveaucheap? I am almost tempted in returning the unopened mascara back...lol am I a new level of cheap? lol
ReplyDeleteFor those raiding CVSes for cheap pretties.... one thing to beware of.... there are CRAPLOADS of pricing errors in their system. For example on one CVS we went to, we got a dozen 75% off items. When we came to the register most of the items were ringing up at full price, obviously the clerk fixed it, but it pays to pay attention to the list as the items are getting scanned.
