Two bits of exciting info to share with my fellow Color Tattoo fans today about brand NEW, as well as repromoted, shades of Color Tattoos!UPDATE (11/29/12): Click here for lots of pics and swatches of the new Color Tattoo 24HR Metal Collection.
1) Remember the four limited edition jewel-toned shades that came out back in July? Well reader Galliesallie spotted them in a new display at her local CVS recently, so it looks like we might experience a second wave of these, in case you missed them the first time!

To see swatches of these four shades from back in July, check out Sasquatch Swatch's post here.
More info about this display and the NEW Color Tattoo shades, after the jump...

Also in this display are some new (according to the packaging) Unstoppable liners.
2) There are NEW, yes, NEW shades of Color Tattoos called Color Tattoo Metal (metallics) currently surfacing in Canada (which means we'll hopefully get them soon here in the US). Here is all I know about them: reader Alex-Fashion-Beauty left a comment on the You Tell Me page the other day and confirmed that they're brand new (not to be confused the jewel-toned shades above or the LE Fall shades I reviewed here). Alex, if you're reading this, I would love to take you up on your offer for photos--please email me (address is located in the upper menu bar above). And thank you!
In the meantime, I have one photo of these new shades to share with you, thanks to my pal Halifax of Sparkled Beauty, who just so happened to tweet me a link today to @makemeoverande's Instagram photo of the new shades here.
UPDATE: thanks to readers Alison and Rachel for sharing a link to the Maybelline Canada Facebook page, which is where I obtained this photo:

Barely Branded looks like a neutral tan color
I'm pretty sure I've seen these for a couple months now. I remember seeing new jewel toned ones at my local Walgreens. I don't remember the names, but I know they said Limited Edition on them.
ReplyDeleteAngie, I think you might have mis-read my blog post? The LE jewel-tones are NOT new, in fact I said they came out in July, which would explain why you said you've seen them for months now. In this blog post, I said the they're being repromoted, which means new displays are popping up, so those that missed them the first time might be able to find them again.
DeleteBut if I misunderstood your comment and you were referring to the Color Tattoo Metal shades (which are just now surfacing in Canada and are brand new), then please do let me know. I'd be super surprised if you spotted them months ago??
Thanks!
Angie might not have misundersttod your post, if her situation is anything like mine: I've been seeing the jewel tones at my Walgreens since mid September (after the Summer and Fall LE collections had been released and subsequently sold out), and they have been restocked several times since (with the LE label on them, oddly enough). So, maybe she just meant that she's been seeing the repromotes (as I have) for a couple of months now, just not starting recently as others seem to have? :)
DeleteOne more comment!

Thanks for all the links, Alison! So helpful. :)
DeleteSo exciting! I've been wanting to try out Color Tattoos. Now I have more choices to choose from!
ReplyDeleteLove the navy blue. I read a remark when I was searching last night for photos that Barely Branded was similar to Barely Beige.. but it was just a random comment. Keeping my fingers crossed cause I'm scared to death I'm going to use all of my BB, yet I KEEP reaching for it, LOL. I will be buying them all if they show up here in the US though, I use them all the time as bases. I'll do some more searching tonight and post here if I find anything. I hope the LE jewel tones are coming back.. finally found a green tonight at Walgreens stuck inside a random display, the clerk at the makeup counter said she thought they were gone long ago..someone must have stashed it for later then never came back. Lucky me.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the Maybelline Canada Facebook link that Alison shared above? They do look similar! :D
DeleteYAY more colors!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous! I saw them couple days ago!
ReplyDeleteYou can probably predict this but I'm all over this release. I'm waiting for this like a crazy person.
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting! :D
ReplyDeleteOoh the Metallic collection looks pretty! ^^
ReplyDeleteHere is Pink Gold that was just released in the UK, all the UK CT's have different names than here so it may be the pink in the new metals series:

It made my day that one of these websites was in French :)
DeleteI spotted the older ones (the older jeweltones: Test My Teal, Fuchsia Fever, Blue On By, and Go Green) in two of my local Walgreens, back just after Halloween. I haven't seen the metallics in any stores yet. Hope the metallics make it to US soon!! (I know that a friend has bought me the pink gold, but I wouldn't mind taking a look at these others!) The silver and navy look like things I'll try picking up ASAP :)
ReplyDeletei NEED three one the right,

ReplyDeleteOooh man...I did see them re-release at my cvs yesterday and was surprised! I hope the metal ones are release here....I just asked my Canadian friend to be on the lookout for me, haha.

ReplyDeleteI'm curious how "Barely Branded" compares to Barely Beige.
DYING OF EXCITEMENT!!!! i've been wanting to pick up a green, a gold, and some more beige ones as bases if they came out with new shades, so this is heavenly news!!!!!! i hope i see them soon! y'all know how much i flip for Colour Tattoos!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try these metallic shades.
ReplyDeletealso i never saw the summer jewel tones, so this makes me feel a lot better.
ReplyDelete! I hope these are in the US soon! Thank for the info!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I tried the color tattoo shadow I hated it and thought it couldn't blend. Maybe I should give them another try?
ReplyDelete"The first time I tried the color tattoo shadow I hated it and thought it couldn't blend. Maybe I should give them another try? "
ReplyDeleteWas it purple? That is the most difficult followed closely by the white one IMO. I use them primarily as bases, but there are certain colors (like bronze) that I have worn alone for a super quick one step eye. Some can wear them without primer, but I use primer every day no matter what. I use the ELF "C" brush.. tap into a little and blend it on with the tip of the brush, layering for more coverage. I find it easiest to layer it on a little at a time for the smoothest application. The best thing about them for me is they make a $2 shadow look and perform like high end. You don't need a lot for a base either.. just a light coat works miracles. I wore Mossy Green today with the Black Radiance duo in Island/Oasis and WnW Brulee for highlight.. gorgeous gold/green smokey eye and so easy.
Emily of Beauty Broadcast just picked up the pink at Walmart! Let the madness begin!

ReplyDeleteNONONO!! Not until after payday! They will all be gone before I can buy them...
I saw the jewel-toned colors at Target a while ago and didn't. I purchased three of the metallics today at Wal-Mart. They had a huge display on the side of an end cap. I got the pink, gold and navy. The pink and navy are so unique. I will probably return the gold (I didnt open it) since it is similar to the other gold tones in the tattoo line.
ReplyDeleteGot them all tonight at CVS (Lake Charles LA) had a full display but only 2 of each shade. I seriously considered not picking up the Gold (really much more of a sparkly school bus yellow IMO, very bright) and the Blue.. but they were B1G1@50%.. and I own every one of them so far.. so I went ahead. Hopefully that yellow is better on than in the pot.
ReplyDeleteWe got them in the USA now :-). I just bought all the colors tonight. The tan one from the limited edition collection has been renamed Barely Branded and added to the permanent collection. Then they added 4 new colors :-). The first one is Silver Strike which is a very light silver shade. The second is Gold Rush which is a very bright gold with some glitter and shimmer in it. Third is Electric Blue which is actually a navy blue with a slight lighter color running through it. Fourth, but certainly not least is Inked in Pink which is a frosted light mauvy pink :-). Found them all at Walmart :-). Have not seen them at Target yet. I live in Dallas Tx.
ReplyDelete"The tan one from the limited edition collection has been renamed Barely Branded"
DeleteIt is a different shade. Very similar, but more neutral and less pink than Barely Beige.
