When I woke up this morning I was certainly feeling the love when I checked my in-box! After my post last night about the new Color Tattoo 24HR Metal Collection that's currently surfacing in Canada (and should be hitting the US soon), I received some extremely helpful emails from some of our lovely neighbors to the north, offering more info and pics. Go Canada! (Big hugs and kisses to all of my Canadian readers out there!)

As you can see, there are five shades here, and I've been told by multiple sources that these are NOT limited edition and will be part of the permanent collection (yay!).

Judging by the numbering sequence patterns, they appear to be an extension of the regular line. The label "Limited Edition" is no-where to be found...
For the display, there are no new items besides the ColorTattoo line; it's the MasterDrama liner in the silver shade, Master Precise Liquid Liner in Blackest Black and Gel Liner in Blackest Black

So Gold Rush and Silver Strike are the most similar in texture and finish, both very frosty with small glitter bits. More bold but definitely will be very fun for this holiday season with the parties and dinners.
Inked in Pink and Barely Branded have the same pearly finish, appropriate for everyday looks. Electric Blue is more of its own story, the finish is nearly matte (kind of unexpected for a cream product), the colour builds beautifully and will make an excellent base for blue powder eyeshadows.

Joanne said that Barely Branded has the same great formula of Barely Beige. This should make those of you who have come to depend on Barely Beige quite happy! You will soon be able to get a very similar shade and not have to worry about it being impossible to find!

Gold Rush is so vibrant, right? I'm sort of obsessing over Inked In Pink as well, and you know I can't even wear pinks near my eyes (but I'm going to try once again!).

I might need a Barely Branded, i LOVE my beige one so much. I also might try the pink one, since that shade would flatter my eye colour. If i see the jeweltoned ones i want the purple and the green!

DeleteI always check your blog for the latest new drugstore makeup, especially the swatches, it's so helpful! Although I'm confused, do drugstore company's publicly announce new products? If so, where?

It's been my experience that brands don't usually make a big, general announcement; some deliver the news through social media, some will issue a press release to the media (including bloggers), some do it via advertising (magazine ads, TV commercials) and some do it by simply allowing the product to hit store shelves. There's really no one rule that all brands seem to follow. I do my best to keep my readers informed but sometimes I only hear about a new product when I physically see it on store shelves (or a kind reader spots it and shares it with us!). So it really depends on the brand...

ReplyDeleteI shall hoard them all. I was thinking about your pinks around your eyes problem the other day. What if you paired a neutral type pink like the one above with a warm bronze in the crease? It will make your eyes pull more blue & maybe help kill the redness?

I just want to let you know that when I asked Maybelline Canada (on their FB page), they told me this was addition to the permanent line. You guys can check out their FB Page and ask them yourself just in case. I was hoping to get something similar to milk. I guess I won't be buying any of them... I can't believe I just said that! I'm proud of myself :)... LOL

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Color Tattoos because they are the only product I have tried thus far that do not crease on me. I live in Ontario and have been on a hunt for barely beige since the LE fall collection came out in stores in October. Unfortunately for me, in those rare times when I did come across the collection barely beige was the only one that was ALWAYS sold out. I managed to get my hands on the other colors from the Fall collection I was interested in but was so let down from searching through so many stores and not even being able to get my hands on Barely Beige. Yesterday I was doing some grocery shopping at The Superstore and of course I could go there and not check out their cosmetic section (it is MASSIVE). I ended up coming across the Metal collection and did not even hesitate before i grabbed Barely Branded. I also got Silver Strike to wear for the holidays. Plan on going back and getting Electric Blue and Inked Pink! I am really loving my CT collection so far!

ReplyDeleteI found these at one of my local CVS stores-surprisingly, this is a store that seems to get newer stuff later than the other stores. I found all of the colors except Silver Strike. I picked up Inked in Pink and Electric Blue.

ReplyDeleteAs of December 29th I own all of them. I got them at Walmart (all the shades) and I live in Mckinney (suburb of Dallas) Texas :-). Don't know if this info is helpful or not, but I hadn't seen them last week and I saw someone commented on December 18th that they still couldn't find them so I am guessing they are still scarce here in the US.
