Just a quick heads-up in case you didn't hear: Sally Beauty is going to be running a sale on the new China Glaze and Ardell Cirque du Soleil Collections, which should hit stores December 1st (some are reporting that they've already spotted this collection at their local Sally Beauty stores, but I don't think the sale starts until Saturday). Click here to see bottle shots/photos of this collection.
Will you be picking up anything from this collection when it goes on sale? Do you already own any of these polishes? I've got my eye on that milky glitter (of course).
I picked up It's a Trap-eze (the milky glitter) a week or two ago from a blog sale. I'm kicking myself for not getting Whirled Away as well. It's like nail art in a bottle - those hex glitters are huge!
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about It's a Trap-eze. I read that it had white glitter in it, but it does not. It has silver glitter, which just looks white because it's in a white polish. It does look pretty cool, but when the polish is wiped off the glitter it looks so much like Light It Up, the glitter in the Julie G holiday collection. I don't have a "plain" rainbow glitter, so I feel like I would have gotten more mileage out of Light It Up in a jelly sandwich or franken. I guess I'll just have to buy another bottle of nail polish. Oh, cruel fates...
Megrims- Milani 'Gems', China Glaze 'Pizzazz', Icing 'Happy Birthday Beyotch' are all dupes of Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday, rainbow glitter. I'd buy either the China Glaze or the Icing ones since you'd get more for your money. Plus, Icing usually has a 'Buy one, get one half off' on all their polishes.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget these too:

I bought Get Carried Away yesterday, thought it was from the Christmas collection since it was on that display. It reminded me of candy canes and lumps of coal! I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, I bought an absolutely gorgeous Finger Paints holiday top coat, it's frosty and iridescent and will look amazing over a candy cane French come December.
The Finger Paints holiday top coat is pretty. :)
DeleteWith s, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many nail collections coming out every year now, I suppose it is difficult for cosmetic companies to come up with something unique.
ReplyDeleteThis collection is boring & there is nothing I will be getting
Isn't that funny how people can have such different perspectives on the same collection? I think this is one of the LEAST boring collections of the entire year! Lol! I don't recall China Glaze ever releasing a milky glitter before, or a polish with white jumbo glitter, and the swatches of that green polish look so stunning and unlike any other green I own. Lol!
DeleteAnyway, sorry to hear this one isn't doing it for you. :(
I really want to try that milky glitter myself. I've seen swatches of it and it's gorgeous. The Whirled Away one looks like a way to make other polishes a bit more fun, too. Those two are on my wish list!
DeleteYou can get 10 of the 12 shades on SallyBeauty.com for $4.99 with your Sally's card right now. They don't have the two pink shades on the site. I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for this collection to come out I want It's a Trap-eze for me and for a gift. Ulta has a sale coming up buy 2 get 1 free. I am unsure of the dates of this special but I saw the flyer for it yesterday. I may wait for that!
ReplyDeleteGreat to know - My Sally's gets shipments only on Tues each week - and I called yesterday (Wen) they did not receive the Cirque du Solelie collection...so looks like not all Sally's will be ready for the sale items as advertised. Kind of odd they would do a sale if they knew not all the store will have stock - I will see if mine will do a hold for me as I think a # of the shades will go fast considering they only typically get 4-5 bottles of each shade at the most.
ReplyDeleteI picked up several of these this week at Sally's and I am already loving Whirled Away. I used it over a base of salmon pink color by Spoiled called My Silicone Popped(by Wet n Wild) and it turned out really cute! I did have some trouble with application as you have to dab it on not swipe, and it requires placement of the white glitters. The little black hexes and the bars were easy to get on the brush but the larger white ones were few and far between and required fishing and special placement to get a decent look with this. I would definitly buy it again though as it really isn't too much trouble and the look is so different and nail arty looking without any nail art skills necessary. I also picked up Get Carried Away but I am thinking of returning it and getting that beautiful pink creme that I passed on the other day. It looks dark and dingy in the bottle and I have seen swatches and it didn't turn out pretty at all. I haven't had a chance to use the milky polish with the multi colored glitter yet, but I like it as it reminds me of the Revlon polish Whimsical which I love.
ReplyDeleteI got It's a Trap-eze and Whirled Away in the mail from Head2toe Beauty for 3.25 each! I love Whirled Away so far, but haven't done a full manicure with it yet. Such a fun glitter polish! I was a little disappointed with It's a Trap-eze so far. I realized I have a rainbow glitter from Essie that I could just do a jelly with for basically the same look. First time I ever commented on your blog! I've been reading for years though! Love Vintage Vault. I am a bit of a vintage makeup hoarder.
ReplyDeleteI checked my Sally's today to see if they had these yet and they did not. I want It's a Trap-eze and Whirled Away so bad! Oh, and they had no idea about the sale on these either, but considering they don't have these in and don't get their shipments on Saturday, it wouldn't matter anyway. :(
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to update that when I went into my Sally's today they said that their shipment on Tuesday which means that it'll be put out on display either Wednesday or Thursday. The awesome sales girl there took my name and number and wrote down the bottles I wanted to purchase and told me that she would put them aside for me and call me when they come in. In their flyer it shows that they are having a sale 2 for $11 on ALL China Glaze purchases from Dec 1st until the end of the month, that includes the holiday collection as well. So, if you had your eye on one of these colors from this collection and haven't seen them in your local Sally's yet, there is still hope that you will get the deal! It's also worth a shot to see if they can put the ones you want aside for you too. HTH some of you. :)
ReplyDeleteI bought some saturday at my local Sally's and I actually got them 2 for $10 and I don't even have a Sally's card.
