Review: Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon

Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon Collection

This review is for the Pink Chiffon Eau de Toilette (pictured on the far right, above). I received an advance sample of this fagrance (in a plain bottle) and I've been wearing it off and on for a few weeks now.

Pink Chiffon Eau de Toilette is not yet available on the Bath & Body Works website (right now you can only buy the mini body lotion and shower gel). When the Eau de Toilette becomes available (soon), it will retail for $29.50.

From Bath & Body Works:

Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon Eau De Toilette

  • Top Notes: Sparkling Mandarin, Red Pear, Peach Nectar, Wild Berries
  • Mid Notes: Tiare Flower, Jasmine Petals, Water Lily, Apple Blossom
  • Dry Notes: Coconut Milk, Vanilla Orchid, Creamy Sandalwood, Heliotrope, Chiffon Musk

My thoughts:

Not since the introduction of Twilight Woods back in 2009 have I fallen in love so quickly with a Bath & Body Works fragrance. It was literally "love at first sniff" with this one, and let me tell you exactly why.

On a personal level, this fragrance triggers a sense-memory for me. I don't know if I used to own a similar fragrance a very long time ago, or if it evokes something else altogether (a candle fragrance, etc.), but it definitely triggers something in me and takes me back to when I was younger. It makes me feel happy, cozy and very feminine.

On my skin, I pick up almost a strawberries-and-cream note in this fragrance, but the heliotrope (one of my favorite notes of all time) gives it a powdery note that helps keep it from being too sugary-sweet. This is a light fragrance, but not in a fleeting way. It actually has very nice staying power on my skin, but it's just a light, sweet fragrance that doesn't scream at you when you wear it.

The best way I can describe Pink Chiffon is like this: it's a sweet, candy-like fragrance that has a powdery note to it that keeps it from being too youthful. It's like the fragrance equivalent to slipping on a pastel pink cashmere sweater. It's soft, cozy, girly, delicate and very comforting,

If Twilight Woods were a sophisticated tomboy, Pink Chiffon would be her sophisticated, ultra-feminine sister.

I don't do star ratings but, if I did, Pink Chiffon would get five whopping stars from me.

Do you already own the Pink Chiffon mini lotion? If so, do you agree with my description of this fragrance? Are you excited to attend the Valentine's Event and try this one for yourself? I'd love to hear from you!

  1. I was fortunate enough to catch a terrific 75% off sale on the B&BW website a few weeks ago... I ordered full sized body lotions that normally retail for $9-10 per bottle for roughly $2.25 each. If that weren't enough to satisfy my B&BW addiction, I also order 4 of the Pink Chiffon mini lotions and am absolutely IN LOVE with the fragrance as well. I think you described it pefectly when you said it was like "slipping on a pastel pink cashmere sweater".. yes, it very much is!

  2. I got the free mini lotion and I'm really glad I got to try it before buying a bottle, because it smells waaaay too "old lady-ish" to me. Which is ironic since I'm in my 50s. I love B&BW but prefer scents that are less flowery and powdery, and more food-y, like vanilla, cinnamon, etc. I don't get any vanilla or fruity smells from Pink Chiffon. I still have a box of B&BW lotions that I need to use, anyway, so I can save my money for some of the new nail polishes shown here at Nouveau Cheap!

  3. I actually was able to purchase the FULL SIZE lotion and spray at my local BBW during the buy3/get 2 free sale with an addtl 20% off. I absolutely love this scent and the Rumberry...both are amazing

  4. I am wondering if the preview lotions consistently smell the same across the US. After reading your review, especially. A lot of the gals at MUA smell licorice, you get a wonderful soft and sweet girly fragrance and I and two of my coworkers think that this smells like Be Enchanted's softer little sister. I will be interested in smelling all the other products in store when they're available.

  5. Girlie Blogger: Glad you like it!

Valerie: Yay! I'm so glad you agree with my description--it's so difficult to try and describe a scent so it always makes me feel good when at least one person agrees with what I tried to say. Thanks for taking the time to share. :)

Sue: I'm so sorry this didn't work for you! :(

It's the DivaInMe: Yay! So glad you like it too. :)

Jen: I know that the scent can vary from lotion to EDT, and since I reviewed the EDT (and have not tried the lotion), I wouldn't be surprised if it smells a bit different given that the lotion base itself can tend to add something extra to a fragrance. For example, I LOVE the body cream version of Into The Wild, but I'm not big on the body MIST. So yeah, all three of the descriptions you wrote about could be spot on! :)

  7. I did get the mini free lotion at BBW and your description is right on the money. So feminine and light and still grown up. Generally I only get the minis of what ever is new because I get tired of the scent before I can finish it. Anyway when I let my daughter smell it she said "It smells like you, Mom"! She was right it is my perfect scent and will buy the full size set when available! I just love it! :)

  8. I just purchased this to give myself a birthday treat and I can't believe how much I love it. I actually went in to try Secret Wonderland and decided it wasn't so great on me. I very rarely wear fragrance because I easily get headaches but I can wear this all day and not get one. I do love the girly sweetness of it without being too bubblegum sweet and I'm amazed that just the lotion and body mist lasts as long as it does. I love your pink cashmere sweater description. It's perfect like Pink Chiffon. Thanks!

  9. Pink Chiffon is probably my all time favorite fragrance to wear! I love it. And I agree -- there are some similarities to Twilight Woods, which I also like a lot, especially in the Fall.
