Spotted at the drugstore: nail polishes galore!

Over the past few weeks, I've stumbled across several new nail polish displays, so I thought I'd show all of them to you in this post. Let's get started!

First, at my local Japanese dollar store, I spotted this new(ish) display from Jordana:

What you can't really see in these photos is that some of these colors are cremes, while others have that very popular combo of holo microglitter and holo bar glitter (which we saw a lot of in the newest limited edition Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear collection).  For instance, both the green and orange in this Jordana display have that same holo glitter combo, and in fact, the orange color in this display looks A LOT like Milani Flashy Orange, from the limited edition Welcome Back Color collection from last fall (I think the Welcome Back Color collection was the first drugstore collection I can recall to feature this type of glitter combo).

Anyway, the fact that the Milani shade and this new Jordana shade share a lot of similarities isn't surprising to me since Milani owns Jordana! So if you missed out on the Welcome Back Color collection, you have a second chance with the Jordana Bright Duets collection, since both collections seem to share a lot of the same qualities. Oh, and the Jordana polishes are half the price of the Milani polishes, so that's an added bonus!

Next up, the largest display I've ever seen for LA Colors Art Deco nail art polishes:

I love that there are soft lilac and mint green pastels in this display, as well as lots of shimmers and glitters. It was almost too overwhelming for me!

Next up, I spotted this holiday display at my local Rite Aid:

It's $1.99 SNOWMAN TIME AGAIN!!  Yay!! I missed out on a lot of these colors last year, so I was very happy to seem them in mid-October (but darnit, some of the shades were already missing!). These snowman polishes tend to sell out QUICKLY, so if you see them at your local drugstore, grab the ones you want NOW. Don't wait because they will definitely sell out long before December.

It's hard to see in these pics, but this year there are so many pretty shades in this display! There's a pastel mint green creme, a pastel blue creme with tiny iridescent flecks, a beautiful lavender creme, a shimmery/metallic deep forest green and a red glitter that looked very Ruby Slippers-ish.  All in all, this is a great cheapie collection and I purchased what I think might be the best shade in the entire display (hopefully): a silver holographic! I'll swatch it soon so check back if you're interested.

And finally, I spotted a new Milani Nail Art display:

This is a four-tiered floor display. The first two shelves contain silver, gold, white and black nail art polishes that each come with a collection of nail stickers (rhinestones, etc.). The nail stickers, according to the display, are a "$2.99 value" so the fact that you get both the nail art polish and the stickers for $3.99 seems like a pretty good deal!

I tried to get a close-up of one of the boxes but it came out really blurry (sorry).

On the bottom two shelves of this display are nail colors (all core collection shades--sorry to get your hopes up but nothing new here).

That's it for this drugstore report. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the new polishes out there, and if you own anything I mentioned in this post (or want to own anything), I'd love to hear from you!

  4. I just tweeted this at you but don't know if you'll see it. Those Jordanas aren't dupes--they are the same polish. Milani and Jordana are owned by the same parent company apparently.

  5. Cutiegingerbread: They're adorable, huh? Some of the colors are hit and miss, but some of them are REALLY good. Surprisingly good! :)

Kimberly: LOL! I know, right? Too cute!

H: Yes, but in limited supply/shades. Some of the colors in this display are shades I have never seen at DT, or anywhere else for that matter. That's the reason I posted the pic--the shade selection is mindblowing compared to what you see at DT.

fatpinkchicken: I actually mentioned that very fact right here in this post. :)

  8. I have that Jordana polish in green with glitter. I was laughing because the display pictured is the exact display where I bought mine from. At some point we're bound to run into each other. ;)
