I saw a pic today of what the e.l.f. collection at Zellers in Canada looks like, and I have to say that I like the Canadian packaging better than the US packaging for the products now sold at Target:
The way that companies choose to market products from country to country is always fascinating to me. What do you girls think? Do you prefer the minimalist black, or the cutesy purple and gold?
PS: Can anyone tell me what that product is on the far left?
[UPDATE: The lovely Halifax has identified the mysterious product on the left. Click here for more information.]
The blush/bronzer thingy looks like the Too Faced bronzer... I think it is Too Faced. It could be another brand but it reminds me of a high end bronzer. That's really neat.
ReplyDeleteHow weird is that? I love the cutesy packaging more than the minimalist black!
ReplyDeleteit certainly looks like the Too Faced pink leopard bronzer... I was looking through the elf website and see no sign of this product. but I did see that elf's $1 line has their own eyelid primer! I wonder how well it works compared to the mineral one
ReplyDeleteI actually like the black package more :)! It looks more classy.
ReplyDeletegah. i am so disappointed as to why these newer ELF products aren't here in manila (phils.) yet. (-_-)
ReplyDeleteR, it's a bronzer. I have a close up pic on my blog here http://sparkledbeauty.blogspot.com/2009/08/winners.html. The packaging is a bit different, a previous version of the pink one, I guess.
ReplyDeleteBlack is easier to give as gift, pink is cute. We're all good with either one :-)
I prefer the black. It looks more sophisticated. The pink packaging looks younger, more "girly," and cheaper, in my opinion. It looks like something my cousins would buy for their daughters to play with.
ReplyDeletendoodles: So that's what is it! A bronzer! Thank you! xo
ReplyDeleteLisa Kate: Totally agree--so weird, and I like the cutesy one more. lol. xo
Connie: Thank you!! And yes, someone on my other post mentioned that concealer from elf's regular line. I've got to get my hands on both, I tell you! :)
Tamara: I can totally see your point. It is a bit classier in black, but I guess the cutesy packaging appeals to my inner girlie-girl. lol. :)
kira, I am so sorry these products aren't available in Manila yet. :( Do you have a friend in the US or CA you can swap with? :)
Halifax: Of course I knew I could count on you! You are the product detective, I swear! There isn't a beauty mystery that you can't solve, my friend! lol. :) xo
Mimsy: I totally see your point about the black, but there's something about purple packaging that gets me every time. I'm weak for it, I tell you! lol. :)
LOL, R. I totally understand. I still have a soft spot for Bonne Bell Lip Lites and Lip Smackers, which I must admit are girly and cheap looking. But the quality of the actual products are pretty good and, in the end, it's what's inside that counts, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteM, I totally agree! The quality is what counts, but I guess sometimes we just can't resist the "cute" factor, right? lol! xo
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for it to actually *arrive* at Zellars. But since I live in BC, I know I'll be waiting a while longer... *heart breaks*
ReplyDeleteHi Fay! I'm thinking good thoughts for you that you get these very, very soon. :) xo
ReplyDeletecutesy girly all the way!!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with ya, Mama Mish Mash. :)
