Spotted: New Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks

I'm running a bit behind on new product sightings posts, so expect several more of these in the days to come!

To get the ball rolling, reader Abby spotted some new Revlon displays at her local Bed Bath & Beyond recently and was nice enough to share. Let's start with the new lipstick line:

More info, pics and a swatch, after the jump...

The new Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks were mentioned in the Fashion Week press release I posted a few weeks ago (in addition to the new PhotoReady BB Cream, which I don't think has hit stores yet). After reading that press release, I was excited to see what the Ultimate Suede lipsticks actually looked like, so now we know!

Abby purchased one of these lipsticks and was nice enough to share a close-up and swatch:

Abby described this color as a mauvey rose:

Thanks so much, Abby, for the great info, pics and swatches!

Have you spotted the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks in your area yet? It looks like this line is a new addition to the permanent collection (not limited edition), just in case you were wondering.

Up next: the new Revlon eyeshadows that Abby also spotted. Check back in a few moments for that post...

  1. Oh god, more temptation ... From how it looks in the tube, I'd have guessed it would be a lot darker, like on the display picture of Emma Stone. The swatch is very pretty, though.

    1. It's actually not Emma Stone— i think her name is Olivia something, she was in one of Revlons TV commercials too.

  2. Oh yay! More Revlon lippies! Not that I need more, mind you! I just really like their lip products and it looks like this has a really great selection of colors. Need to try harder to use some up so the man creature doesn't give me guff about buying more, LOL!

  3. 'Suede' makes me think of a plushy matte texture, but they don't appear to be matte at all. Which is good because it'll be easier for me to resist!

    1. Revlon tends to do that. I think some of them will have some shimmer or sheen to make some people happy, but the rest will be semi matte. The shade Olivia Wilde is wearing is "Backstage" and looks matte to me.

  5. I wonder how opaque the red shades are going to be. I have to give these a try when they hit the drugstores! Thanks for the preview!

  7. I saw these today for the first time. I want to wait until I read some reviews first before I buy. There is a large assortment of shades, I can say that.

  8. Are these suppose to replace the discontinued Colorstay Soft and Smooth Lip Colors? Just curious...They look very interesting.

  9. I snagged Iconic and Supermodel at my local Harmon because I've been into natural rose and deep mauve colors lately. Iconic comes off a little brighter than it looks in the tube, and Supermodel is faaaaabulous - I could see myself wearing it every day during this season. There's definitely a sort of sheen to them on the lips, I don't want to say it's duochrome but the sheen is slightly different from the base color. It ended up drying down a lot so you'll probably want to prep with a nice balm, but I haven't been wearing it long enough to see if it gets uncomfortable. And there are tons of colors.

  10. I bought two of these - Backstage and Fashionista. They have a really interesting texture, they're sheer and transfer at first, but then they dry down and don't transfer at all, and have sort of a shrink-wrapped feel, almost.

  12. I got some yesterday! I went past the display at first and then had to look back. I got Socialite and Private Viewing. So far I tried Socialite and it's a great berry pinky color. :)

  13. I just got two of these today, Supermodel and Fashionista. When I first applied Supermodel the edge of it broke off, like if its too soft, yet it doesn't feel uber soft. I really liked the way it applied, it was kind of sheer, but you were able to build up the color. After a few minutes it starts to dry up and it feels more like a matte lipstick, which is my favorite finish. I went on my way, went to Macys, Starbucks, did some homework, went back to school and before getting out of the car I went to check my lipstick and it was completely gone! I had it on for two hours, thats it AND I had an iced drink at Starbucks so I used a straw. Whoa, sorry this comment is getting long, I'm almost done. I thought I was trippin so I reapplied it and went to class. Sure enough, two hours later, gone again. I then didn't bother putting it back on, so when I got home I tried Fashionista, I did nothing but sit at my computer for two hours. This time it hadn't fully disappeared, I still had it around the edges as if I had ate something. Very very weird. I wanted to love these lipsticks, but only a 2 hour wear, even when im doing nothing is crazy. I took off the barcodes to them, but I still have my receipt, I hope Rite Aid takes them back. Sorry for the long comment! Hehe.

  14. I bought this in Iconic and really wanted to love it. But sadly I did not like how it felt on my lips and it kind of rolled around as it dried and looked gross. I am returning mine.

  15. I saw a display for these lipsticks at CVS in NYC it was full length standing display with 20 shades and two lipsticks of each shade. Plus they are properly sealed!!! Hallelujah!

  16. I just bought two of them and I hate them. They feel dry on my lips and appear cakey. My lips are not dry and I have no problem with any other lipsticks that I own, about 50! Too bad you can't try them out before you buy them.
