Two Ways to Get Affordable Oval Brushes Without Having to Order Online

Sometimes I'm all about instant gratification. Online ordering is so convenient and so darned easy (duh) but if you've been wanting to try an oval brush (AKA: Artis dupe) and actually SEE it before you buy it, then I have not one, but two ways to help you do just that--without having to spend a lot of money.

NOTE: Yes, I know that there are many, many $1-$10 options on Amazon here and eBay here (some are even under $1 and ship directly from China). I've done a post about those in the past. But today it's about oval brushes that you can get locally, in-store!

Face Secrets Oval Blending Brush at Sally Beauty - $12.99 ($12.59 with Sally Card)
This brush (pictured above on the left) is available both online and in-store at your local Sally. If you click that link you'll see that, as of the time of this post, this brush has a 4.7 star rating (7 reviews). And don't forget that Sally has a Love It or Return It return policy, which means that if you get it home, try it out, and you don't like it, you have 60 days to return it for a full refund.

Cailyn O! Wow Brush at TJMaxx and Marshalls - $12.99 (reg $32)
I blogged about the O! Wow Brush (pictured above on the right) back in January when it was popping up at Harmon/Bed Bath & Beyond for $29.99. Then I blogged about it again in April when it popped up on Amazon (you can still get it on Amazon HERE for $15). But over the past few weeks, I have heard from several of you on Instagram and here in the comments on the blog who have spotted it at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls for $12.99 (thank you so much for the tips!). Even just today, reader Unknown commented on the You Tell Me page (thank you!) to let us know she spotted this brush near the registers at her local Marshalls this week for $12.99. So definitely keep your eyes peeled for it and look near the registers if you don't find it in the beauty section.

Do you own any oval face brushes? If so, which one(s) do you own, how do you like them, and where did you get them?

    4. G, I really like your blog. However, I really don't like it when someone in the comments points out a deal and you always reply with a yes I knew that already attitude. Sometimes it sounds a little rude. again this is my go to blog and appreciate all the work. Hope you understand my comment. Thanks :)

    5. Hi Melissa. I'm so sorry to hear you feel that way, as it's never my intent and I don't think the OP felt I was rude based on her comment (and my response to her response).

My intent is always to let readers know, when their tips are short and sweet, that you can go to a post I've already written for MORE info that they may not know about. Because my intent is ALWAYS to make sure my readers know everything I can possibly tell them about these deals. So if it sounds like I'm saying, "Yeah, I know" please understand that it's in the context of, "but I want to make sure you know about the OTHER info I posted about the deal, to help you even more, if I can." Hope that clears it up.

    1. Thanks for the reminder about that! I saw that on their IG feed a few weeks ago. Oh how I wish Ricky's was nationwide!!!

    2. I would DIE if they had a store in Chicago. It's bad enough I spend all my money at Ulta and Sephora! I'd be totally broke!

Keep up the good work. I LOVE reading all the deals you find out about.

  4. I'm a Sally Beauty Club member that gets email promotions and they sent me a 40% off one item coupon good through the 17th. At that price I'm stopping by tomorrow to buy 2. One to use while the other dries after washing.

    1. Well there are many different sizes for different uses, but the ones in this post specifically are for foundation application. :)

  6. I recently purchased the original Artis oval brush no. 7 - and I cannot believe how wonderful it is. I have lots and lots of brushes and this one is the best for the face of anything else I've bought (Sephora, Wayne Goss, Sigma, it, Sonia Kushak, and others). I will take a look at the Sally one just to see how it compares. The Artis brushes are VERY expensive and they only offer free shipping for over $75.

    1. If you ever want to purchase another Artis brush, the link at the top of my post is to the Neiman Marcus website, where shipping is free on all orders. :)

I would LOVE to know how you think the Sally brush compares to the Artis, if you end up getting it! :)

  8. Love my Cailyn O Wow brush, ordered it on Amazon. Haven't tried any of the Artis brushes though so can't compare. Definitely recommend the Cailyn brush as it applies my liquid foundation flawlessly!

  9. I have the Cailyn but I haven't Reid it yet because I won an eBay auction for a MAC set the same day. I've used the MAC every day and love it. Both are size 7 which is perfect. I inherited an Artis 10 but it's too big for my face but it's the softest of them all! I just ordered the Artis cleaning set (mat and cleanser) from HSN to keep everything clean.

  10. I just saw these at my TJ Maxx, some were as low as $7.99!

  11. I saw lots of "iBeauty" oval brushes in different sizes at my TJ Maxx-- I got one and I'll let you know how it is!

  12. I bought an oval brush on Monday at TJMaxx from the brand The Creme Shop. I tried the largest brush (about the same size as the Artis 6) for foundation for 9.99. They also had a set of 3 brushes (concealer, eyeliner, lipstick) for 16.99. I really enjoyed the brush and have used it every day since for my foundation. Since these brushes are not available on The Creme Shop's website, I reached out to them on Facebook, and they replied that these brushes are about to be listed on their website.

Because I had been doing a ton of research on the oval brushes and brands, I went ahead and ordered a 10 piece oval set from Amazon from the brand USPICY after trying The Creme Shop one. It came today and while I have not yet used them, they are awesome to the touch (slightly better than my 1 The Creme Shop one). I will use them tomorrow, but can't do a side by side comparison on how each brush preforms because my mother took my previous brush to try out once my new set arrived today.
