The Lipstick League - week of 2.9.15

The Lipstick League Question of the Week

Which eyeshadow palettes have you been reaching for the most lately?

G's answer: Honestly, I try to change it up every week so that all of my palettes get some serious use, rather than me just lovingly opening the cases and staring at them before I put them back in my palette bin. It's a hard task though, trying to rotate palettes every week, but I'm all about trying to really use the things I own before I'm off to buy more (yeah, keep dreaming, right? Well at least I try!). So this past week, I was all about my Maybelline The Nudes palette, my Ulta Rose Gold palette and an oldie but goody, my Urban Decay Naked 1 palette. Next week I've got my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Matte palette and theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette on tap. Mr. G bought me the Meet Matt(e) Nude and Balm Voyage palettes for Christmas after he saw my blog post about them being on sale with free shipping last December. What a guy, right?

  1. Hmmm, I have so many eyeshadow palettes I don't know if I can say I reach for one the most. I probably use nudes the most since they're versatile, but most often I just go for color mood, like if I want purples or whatever that day.

  2. Aww Mr. G is so sweet!

I want to rotate my palettes more often too. I actually need to do that with everything. xD I've been using Too Faced Chocolate Bar and Urban Decay Naked 3 palettes a lot lately especially when I'm in a rush in the morning. I'll just grab one of them and do a quick eye look. It's so convenient. I started neglecting my single shadows so now I've grabbing those more recently. Sometimes I just need a light wash of a single color.

  3. I wear something different every single day. I do rotate as well. I've been reaching for the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, UD Vice 3 and the Smashbox Double Exposure palettes lately. I have also been neglecting my singles and trios/quads so I decided to rotate week by week. This week it is on to the singles, duos, etc.

  4. I reach for my makeupgeek shadows in my z palette alot. (Does that count? Lol) and probably, right now, my too faced semi sweet. I love that thing

  5. You've got a wise man G! Mr. Kelly would randomly go out and buy all blue, super sparkly eye shadows. And to top it off, he's color blind :-) I splurged on the Tartlette and Lorac Vintage Vixen and love them both. I am seriously coveting The Balm Voyage. I can't wait to hear what you think about it. I only trust a few reviewers when it comes to pricey makeup and you're one of them.

  6. I usually rotate weekly as well but sometimes something gets "stuck" and I wind up using it longer than I intend to. That is what happened with my current picks, the It Cosmetics naturally pretty and PF extreme shimmer cremes and shadow palette in Nude. Neither of them blew me away alone, but they are very good dance partners.

  8. I've been using the Berry Profusion palette that I got at Walgreens on clearance after Christmas. It's fantastic. It's definitely the best Profusion palette I've ever used and it was 75 cents. I'm also using an ELF palette that I think was part of their holiday collection. It's really, really good, and I never really saw any reviews of it when it was available. I would have loved to have seen it compared to some of the Naked palettes, because I think a lot of the shades are similar.

  9. ice gotten really good and pared down most eyeshadow palettes; so beyond a few wnw trios (are those really palettes anyway?) i only have/use two. The tarte trueblood from a few years back and the smashbox full exposure palette
