All of the readers who were interviewed for this series were given the same ten questions, and they were asked to submit a picture of themselves, their pet, their makeup stash, or anything else they felt like sharing.
The fourth interview in this series is with reader Mrs. B. Take it away, Mrs. B!
Pink manicure, by Mrs. B
G: How long have you been a fan of drugstore beauty products?
Mrs. B: I have used only drugstore beauty products since my early teens. I have never been a fan of spending a lot on something I can get for less!
G: What was the first beauty product that you remember purchasing?
Mrs. B: Bubblegum kissing potion with a roller ball. Yum. [Me too! I even did a post about it here. --G.]
G: What are your five can't-live-without drugstore beauty products?
Mrs. B: CG Lash Blast Fusion (purple tube), Physicians Formula mineral powder, Revlon Balm Stains, Sally Hansen nail polish (any and all colors/formulas), Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair.
G: Tell us your best "drugstore score" story (something you got for a great deal on clearance and/or with coupons, store rewards, etc.).
Mrs. B: I really wanted Zoya Mosheen, and was feeling like treating myself, so on a whim went to Ulta, a place I hardly ever visit. Lo and behold, I found it in a clearance bin five minutes after entering! It was half price.
G: What's your go-to shade of lip color?
Mrs. B: There are three: Milani Pretty Natural or Naturally Chic, Revlon Balm Stain in Romantic.
G: What's the one movie you can always re-watch, no matter how many times you've seen it?
Mrs. B: The Wizard of Oz
Mrs. B: Mad Men.
G: What was the last book you read?
Mrs. B: Wonder, a chapter book by RJ Palacio. [Sorry to butt in again, but I just have to say that this is my favorite YA book of all time! --G.]
Mrs. B: I would open a bakery or a restaurant that serves only breakfast and lunch.
Mrs. B: I am a busy working mom but I still find time to teach two weight lifting classes a week. I am passionate about health and fitness.
Thanks so much for allowing me to interview you as part of this series, Mrs. B! I absolutely loved getting to know you a bit better, and I hope other readers feel like they know you a bit better now as well!
I would want to go to your restaurant if that existed !
ReplyDeleteI'm totally on board with buying drugstore too, Mrs B. It's amazing to me how many blogs are not only all about high end, but luxury brands. While I could certainly believe Tom Ford and Cle de Peau have excellent products, I can't see that they are 10X better and therefore worth 10X more than what I normally pay for a mascara or lipstick or whatever at the drugstore. I do have a few high end (midlevel maybe?) products like TheBalm or Urban Decay, but I don't think I've ever paid full price, I wait for sales or promo codes.
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks, G! PS I splurge on one spendy item and that is WEN. Otherwise, drugstore all the way, baby.
ReplyDeleteThese reader interviews are so fun to read! That way we can all see what else we might have in common besides makeup...I love Mad Men too, Mrs. B! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this series so much and I wish I could answer the questions, too. It is amazing how many similarities we all have through makeup. It is so heart warming. Mrs. B- I loved your interview! Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteMrs. B I love weight training too!!!!!! Health, beauty, fitness all go hand in hand! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI agree- for my birthday I usually splurge on one mid-level item (say an Urban Decay palette, or this year it was the Chocolate Bar palette which i bought before the HSN sale, sadly), but other than sample sizes of high-end brands, or the occasional skincare set, I go with drugstore products. There are so many to choose from!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice to get to know you, Mrs. B!
This is a fun series. I mostly get drugstore, beauty supply, health food store and mid range products from Ulta. I love Mrs.B dream job.
