New from CoverGirl: eyeshadow pots, whipped creme foundation and more!

UPDATE: More info and images here.

A huge thanks to everyone who took the time to email, tweet, etc. this morning about the new product launches from CoverGirl! Reader nikki left a comment on the You Tell Me page this morning about how she spotted the new products at Walmart, and I hope to have pics to share with you soon!

In the meantime, longtime photo-contributor Jess spotted the new products on Amazon (great catch, Jess!), so here are some links so that you can get an idea of what they look like:

(NOTE: I'm not sure if there are more shades available--these are just what Amazon has listed as of the time of this post)

CoverGirl Lipslicks Smoochies

CoverGirl Flamed Out Eyeshadow Pots

CoverGirl Flamed Out Shadow Pencils

CoverGirl Flamed Out Mascara

CoverGirl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation

CoverGirl Clean Glow Blush

UPDATE: there are also new limited edition mini Glosstini Nail Glosses in "cocktail-inspired hues." Click here for more info.

Also, Emily Noel (whom I adore!) shared a pic on her Instagram this morning of the products she spotted, if you'd like a closer look at some of these products.

Are you excited to see these new CoverGirl products in person? Have you already spotted them at Walmart (or elsewhere?). I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks again, Jess and nikki, for the great tips!

  1. The blush looks interesting but I hate CoverGirl's packaging. I think it is the ugliest packaging of all the drugstore brands :(

    1. Depotting! I am madly in love with Urban Decay's packaging, but man it gets bulky and annoying after two or three palettes. I have both Naked Palettes, Vice and the 15th Anniversary palette all in one metal tin that is *so* much easier to store and deal with. I'm working on all the other shadows and "single" products I own- I'm working on depotting all my NARS cheek products into one tin as well.

    2. I love covergirl packaging! I think it looks the best in comparison to the other brands :)

  2. Aw, I was just at Walmart and Target last night and didn't see any of these. I'll have to return next week to see if they have put them out yet :)

  3. Are the eyeshadow pots powder eyeshadow singles or cream shadows? I can't really tell, though calling it a "pot" suggests cream in my opinion...

    1. Someone just asked this on my FB page too and, looking at the pics, they KIND of look like they could be like the L'Oreal infallibles, but they could also be cremes... guess we'll have to wait and see!

    2. Checking on Amazon, the first two ingredients are Mica and Talc, so I'm guessing they're powders. Assuming the Amazon ingredient list is sccurate, of course. HTH!

  4. Ooh, interesting! Looks like I need to go to Walmart, since they aren't in stock yet on Amazon :( I'm going to guess the pots are cream shadows; for some reason the ones with "melted" in the shade name just make me think cream, lol. Plus maybe they're CG's answer to Maybelline Color Tattoo? But I just really want to try the mascara, of course! ;-)

  6. Very interesting. I've been loving CG face products lately.. so the whipped foundation is probably the one I am most curious about. I liked the Revlon one in use but it burned the heck out of my face. The blush looks really pretty, if the compact is large enough.. that is my biggest gripe with the regular CG blushes, the pan is so small it's hard to get my brush in evenly.

    1. I saw the blush at Wallyworld today. You should be able to fit a blush brush in there easily.

  7. Oh dear...I hope this does not mean they Are discontinuing the original lipslicks...

  8. Hooray, whipped foundations! I used to have some of their older ones (I believe they were Covergirl, at least), and I loved them! Can't wait to try them.

  9. "Smoochies" gave me a giggle. :)Maybe they're an updated Lipslicks gloss stick.

  10. I'm so excited to see these! I will say from personal experience ladies that CoverGirl does give a hoot about what you think. Drop them a message and let them know. They are trying hard to please you guys.

  12. I bought the foundation today and it feels super silky! The texture reminds me a lot of the Benefit PoreFessional primer. I think that's because the first ingridient in this foundation is dimethicone. Also if feels really moisturizing and I attribute this to the glycerin that's in the formula. As for the finish I would say its a natural matte finish. Somewhat similar to the Chanel vitalumiere aqua. Coverage is light to medium. I would definitely say that this foundation is meant for dry skin types like myself not so much for oily skin types.

  13. Way back in the early 70's (!) my mother used a whipped cream foundation that looked exactly like this new Cover Girl foundation! I guess the old adage is true, what comes around, goes around! :)

  14. I recently saw a picture in a Canadian fashion magazine (May 2013 issue) so I'm assuming they're be released here in Canada next month...exciting! The brush on the Flame Out mascara looks very cool!

  15. I just tried the mascara today and I hate to say it but I didn't like it. BUT mascara is different on everyone.

Those lip balms look like the older CG lip balms only slimmer ....

The whipped foundation is the same thing they had released years ago.

    CoverGirl fails yet again .....

  16. Ooo the whipped Creme foundation looks interesting, but I wonder if it's the same as the one they released years ago.

  17. It may be new to c.g..but the blushes look the same as the max factor ones i bought before they left the USA.

  19. Spotted these at my Wal-Mart, minus the eyeshadow pots and pencils. I picked up two of the Smoochies - #luv u, a mauvey pink and #text me, a pinkish red. They're very reminiscent of the NatureLuxe gloss balms, from scent to texture to opacity. Same size as the original Lipslicks, although the packaging is very retro (and not in a good way, IMO).

I noticed that the Clean Glow line includes bronzers as well; all the shades I saw of the blushes and bronzers appeared to be matte.

The jars of foundation are tiny compared to other whipped foundations. Hopefully it's just less packaging and not less product.

Finally, the sign above the rack of Smoochies mentions that the models are wearing something called Glosstinis in addition to the Smoochies. Seems there's at least one more new Cover Girl product headed our way.

Sorry for the long post! Hope my info was helpful.

  20. I am excited that CoverGirl is coming out with new products. I really like their makeup. I am picky with what I wear.

  21. Oh my... G, I will wait for your review of the shadow pots and pencils. To be honest, I hope you hate them so I can give them a pass! I have too much makeup already, but will NEED these if you love them!!!

  22. Wow! I love CoverGirl products since I was a teen. At last, they launched a new product! I will buy this online and I will give an extra set to my daughter. Anyway, thanks for sharing the links! :-D

  23. Max Factor and CoverGirl are the same company.

    1. They're sister companies, not the same company. If they were the same, we'd probably have more Max Factor products available.

    2. Excuse me, I left out the word "from"...which would be P&G now but used to be Revlon. We actually have no Max Factor products available in the US, they left in 2009 sadly.

  24. The Shadow Pots look interesting. I'm down for that lilac color but I'll wait for a review. Especially if its from you, G.
