HOT Sally Beauty deals going on NOW (in-store and online)

Thanks to many of you for the heads-up that, starting yesterday (Thurs.) and running through Sunday (8/26), Sally Beauty is running another one of their 50% off red tag clearance sales:

NOTE: this clearance sale is valid in-store only

Thanks to readers Annette and KD who confirmed that the "special surprise" on their receipts was 15% off a 20 dollar purchase. KD's discount was valid starting the day after she made her initial purchase through 8/31.

To get an idea of the fantastic deals that you may able to find during this sale, check out the comments on this post, which I wrote the last time Sally ran this sale in July. China Glaze polishes for $1.14? Yes, please!

For those of you who don't live near a Sally Beauty, don't fret, because reader Kim was nice enough to let us know about THIS special online-only deal:

image credit: Kim for Nouveau Cheap

Kim discovered that when you log into your Sally account, the online Beauty Club price for regular China Glaze polishes (not new collections) drops from $4.99 to $2.99! NOTE: you must have a Sally Club card linked to your online account to access this deal. Those who have accounts NOT linked to their club cards will see the price as $4.99.

When you do a search on the Sally website for "China Glaze" here's what you will see if you don't log in with your Sally Club Card:

(note the prices in red)

And here's what you will see AFTER you log in with your Sally Club card:

Pretty awesome, right? Kim initailly told me about this deal on August 17th, and since it's still valid at the time of this post (I literally just checked a minute ago), both Kim and I agree that this is probably a month-long sale.

If you don't have a Sally Club card, you can register online. You'll have to pay $5 annually for this card, but you get a $5 store credit every time you pay your dues, so it's essentially free. Plus, you'll always get the "Beauty Club Price" when you shop in-store and online.

Thanks so much, Kim, Annette, KD and everyone else who took the time to share their Sally info with us! I really appreciate it.

Happy shopping, and please feel free to leave a comment on this post to let us know what you find in-store at YOUR local Sally! I absolutely love hearing about all the great deals you find during these sales, so please share!

  1. I went yesterday and got 4 Orly Flash Glam polishes for a little over $2 each. They also had China Glaze Summer Neons on clearance.

  2. How often do the online clearance prices reflect the in-store clearance prices?

My store is bad about tagging items and I hate to always ask for price checks (since they have to manually enter all the info - no fancy scanners here). I went last night and they're holding my goodies until today (I'd forgotten my coupon at home).

I did check last month's list on your blog, but it's possible things could have been reduced even more since then; I also checked the online prices, but yesterday one of the employees said the store prices aren't always the same as the online ones. What I noticed a couple of times was that my store hadn't properly tagged some clearance items and they rang up cheaper (the same as the online prices).

My store said they have tons of clearance in the stockroom (mostly polish) that they can't even bring out yet. That explains why I keep finding more and more pieces of collections I was missing to complete the sets. :) I'm glad they don't put it all out at once, since it would definitely exceed my monthly Sally Beauty budget.

It would be great if others could list what they purchase, along with the prices, since my store can't be the only one that's bad with red tags.

    1. You ask some really good questions, Annette. I wish I had answers for you! Based on personal experience, the online prices rarely reflect the in store clearance prices. I sometimes see things on clearance in store that still show up full price online. I know many readers have said that when they buy clearance stuff in store, it can ring up even lower than the tag price, so you're definitely not alone there! I wish they could be more consistent with it, but I always kind of consider it an extra bonus when the price is even lower than I thought it was going to be.,lol! Sorry I can't help you more with your questions. :(

  3. Do you need a coupon to get the extra 50%? Or is it automatically taken off?

    1. The extra 50% is automatic (or it was the last time Sally's did a 50% off clearance).

  4. I stopped into sally's today and was able to score 2 orly and 1 fingerpaints nailpolish for a little less than $1.40 each! I also saw the China Glaze metallic crackle shades on clearance. I believe they were on sale for 1.50? Not sure since I didn't get any.

  7. I went in yesterday and got a couple of Orly colors; both were well under $2 (I think they were $1.30 and $1.60...) after 50% off the red tag price. Definitely some good deals to be had! I also saw the China Glaze crackles and magnetic polishes on sale, although I can't remember how much they were.

    1. Im sad =( they didnt have any of the hunger games colors, they actually sold out the first month they were launched (the color i wanted was gone by the first week!)

    2. I grabbed 2 of those Orly glam fx glitters - they were 3.00 each, and a Poshe basecoat for 1.35 ! My Sallys was mostly picked over - some China Glaze crackles and some super old looking Finger Paints, and a few Orly's, that was about it. Mermaid Tale is super pretty, hadn't really considered it before !

  11. Here's what I bought:

Orly - Grave Mistake, Mysterious Curse, Buried Alive, Decades of Dysfunction (red tag $2.69; 50% off = $1.35). This is the entire Dark Shadows collection for $6.80!

Finger Paints - Tough Art to Follow, Art You Blue, Picasso's Puce, Sexy Sundress, Late Night Rendezvous (red tag $2.69; 50% off = $1.35)

China Glaze - Luminous Lavender, Glam-More, Jade-D, You Move Me, Cling On (reg tag $2.69; 50% off = $1.35) I now have the complete Crackle Sparkle collection and it was also $6.80 (I bought one last month and the remaining three this month).

    China Glaze - Harvest Moon (red tag $1.50; 50% off = $0.75).

China Glaze - Magnet for magnetic polishes (red tag $2.69; 50% off = $1.35) - there were none on the floor, so I asked if they had any in the back - they had a box full.

*My self-imposed limit on clearance rack purchases at Sally is $20 a month - today's subtotal was exactly $21 (believe me I was wishing I had a $1 item I could void LOL). I was able to get one of every color that I didn't already have, except for (2) Orly shades - I put those back since I was already over my limit.

  12. I just got back, and I'm very pleased with my haul! 12 polishes for under $18!

  13. My Sally's never has anything! They had one Hunger Games Polish..Agro. There were about 6 Fingerpaints- all the same dark color I didn't notice the name. There were 3 Orly Buried Alive, but none of the Orly Glams ( I was hoping for Mermaid Tale_. They also had no China Glaze Neons. I made a special trip to take advantage of the sale but ended up getting nothing! So disappointing!

    1. Mermaid Tale looks very similar to Jordan's Glitters "Cosmic" to me . I got the latter at Kmart for $1.99 recently, and when I saw the Orly today it was the first thing I thought of. I can't be 100% sure because I didn't buy Mermaid Tale, but it might be worth looking into if you can't find the Orly.

    2. Oops, I meant Celestial, not Cosmic! Cosmic is the one I wanted and couldn't find! lol

  14. Uh-oh. I better there bright and early tomorrow. I want a few more China Glazes from the Safari Collection.

    Replies
    1. The Safari collection isn't on clearance :( Hunger Games, Crackles, Prismatics, and Summer Neons are definitely included in this sale, and there may be something I can't remember.

I also saw Orly Dark Shadows collection and Glam FX, Finger Paints summer in the city collection, Finger Paints Magnetic polishes. That's all I can remember!

  16. I went on the Sally's website and it says that they have the red tag sale, but online only for August 25-26.

  17. The china glaze prismatic glitters collection is on sale too as well as a ton of the nina ultra pro brand. I also got a seche recondition for half off the sale price so it was only $1.75. The china glaze magnetics and glitter crackles are also on sale. I also got to use the 15% off $20 I got from a previous purchase! Oh and I picked up the a.s.p angle zebra file you mentioned; I really like it!

    1. I didn't see any of the Nina's marked down! I noticed that they changed their bottle design though, I wonder if the old design are on sale? Thanks for the tip!

    2. The nina bottles I saw are shaped like seche vite bottles; round clear bottle with a black cap. They were originally 3.99 so half off is about $2. I went to 2 different sallys and saw tons of them in one and none in the other so maybe its only in some locations?

  18. The Sally's near me states the sale is Thurs. 23-Sat. 25 only. But boy did I get great deals Thurs.
I paid around $27 and got 5 Orly polishes (I was able to get 3 of the Dark Shadows collection ), 5 or 6 China Glaze polishes (Including Magnetix and Hunger Games collections) and Poshe topcoat and basecoat.
I feel like I hit the lottery ....lol

  22. I purchased something called "Orly The original french manicure neo fx kit". It is a french manicure kit in three different styles- Neon FX, Foil FX, and Cosmic FX. I purchased all three kits. Each kit is on clearance at 7.69 (with 50% off making it 3.85). The kit contains three nail polishes that depend on the kit. The Cosmic FX kit contains Top to Bottom base coat, Liquid Vinyl and Space Cadet. The bottles hold .3 FL ounces.

Also at the sale I purchased several of the China Glaze summer neon polishes at 3.29 before the 50% was taken off.

  23. I was very upset this morning. I went out of my way to Sallys and all there was that was left were crackles. I even asked the lady working there if there were any collections left in the back and she replied with an attitude and said there weren't. She looked at me like I was stupid. I don't think I'll ever be going back.
