Frends Beauty 75th Anniversary Sale Going On NOW Through Tomorrow (8/8)

I knew this was set to start today and I told myself to check, but I totally forgot. So thank you to reader @makeupbyvivi1 on Instagram for the great reminder!

Frends Beauty, which I believe is one of the oldest and longest-running beauty supply stores in the nation (their retail store opened in 1940 to cater to professional hair and makeup artists in Hollywood), is having their 75th Anniversary Sale and hundreds of items (much more than what you see above) are between 10% and 75% off on their website HERE. Plus, if you create an account, you'll receive an extra 10% off your order. (Update: thanks to several of you for letting me know that this 10% discount doesn't apply to this sale. Sorry about that!)

This sale is valid now through tomorrow, 8/8. I do not believe this is happening in-store (if you're in the North Hollywood area) since I didn't see any mention of an in-store promotion on the Frends Beauty Instagram page, but you might want to call just to be sure.

Shipping is free on orders $100+, but their shipping rates are quite reasonable. For example, I added one item to my cart, and was charged $2.54. This is a great time to stock up on favorites, or perhaps try something you've always been wanting. But HURRY before things sell out (as of the time of this post, everything I checked was still in stock, in all shades).

Tutorial & Review: DIY Latex Skin Barrier from Sally Beauty

If you're into nail art, I'm guessing that you've probably heard of latex skin barriers. And if you have heard of latex skin barriers, then you know that they're pretty expensive (anywhere from $10 - $25). Well if you've always wanted to try a latex skin barrier but you don't know if it's for you, I've got an alternative that may interest you, and it's just $1.99 at Sally Beauty.

For those who don't know what a latex skin barrier is, it's simple. Think of latex in liquid form, that you can brush onto the skin around your nail to protect your skin from nail polish. You can then stamp, sponge, or paint your nail as messily as you'd like and. once you're done, you simply peel off the latex and your skin is polish-free. No mess!

So now that you know what a latex skin barrier is, here's my tutorial and review...

The New Sally Beauty Nail Studio

If you haven't been to your local Sally Beauty store lately, you may want to stop by and check this out:

Sally Beauty has changed the way their nail polishes are displayed in-store and created this new, whopping wall-o'-nails. As you'll probably recall, most of their nail polishes were already in wall displays, but not all nail products, at least in my local stores, were in the same general area. Now it looks like everything is all in one place, which sure does make it handy to compare and find dupes, right?
