I cannot begin to express my thanks for the outpouring of comments/tweets/emails/facebook messages from you ever since I posted my comprehensive list of Urban Decay Naked Palette dupes.
Because of YOU, I was able to update my list and add many new additions and extra info. If you'd like to take a look at the updated post, please click here.
Thanks SO MUCH, everyone, for taking the time to share such helpful, insightful info with us!
PS: If you ever have the opportunity to purchase the original Urban Decay Naked Palette either with your own money or a gift certificate (if you're lucky!), I would do it, but only if you like shimmers, since the majority of the shadows in this palette are shimmery (with some having both shimmer and sparkle). Of all the big-ticket splurges I've made in the past decade, THIS palette is the one I've gotten the most use of. It's a fantastic collection of colors (duh! Why else would there be so many dupes, right?) with excellent pigmentation and I do think it's worth the money if you tend to wear colors like this often. But if you're on a tight budget, I hope my post helps you to find some more wallet-friendly alternatives!
I need to see dupes of the NAKED 2 palette (which I refuse to buy). I keep telling myself cheaper dupes are already out there, I just need to find them :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post btw :)
I've been wondering if the Naked 2 palette is worth it? I have the original Naked palette so I'm just not sure if they're too similar to own both? I got the original one super cheap due to a mess up with another order I had and they sent me $35 towards any purchase. Do you guys (G or other readers!) think it's worth it?
ReplyDeleteI have the Naked 2 palette and absolutely love it. Most of the colors are on the warmer side. But even with my neutral/cool complexion, I can wear all of the colors.
DeleteI have the original but I do not own naked2. After reading Temptalia's review of Naked 2, I determined that it just wasn't a good fit for me personally based on the assortment of shades and the repeat shade from the original.
DeleteHowever, I can't say, ” If you already own the original, you don't need both” because I know people who have both and love both.
I have both and they complement each other well. They do not contain duplicates and I have mixed used both together to create new eye looks. I would buy both again. If I recall correctly last year they were offered for only $35 each at ULTA for a holiday promotion. Maybe a Black Friday special? I can't recall for sure, but I didn't get one then and ended up paying full price, however they have been totally worth the splurge for me. I was afraid with fair skin the colors would not work on my skin tone, but they do and they do well!
DeleteHey, there's a cute little dupe by City Color and sold at Rite Aid. Here is the post by blogger NeutraKris: http://www.neutrakris.com/2012/04/city-color-lenticular-eyeshadow-palette.html
ReplyDeleteI bought it and like it very much!
I was all excited to find my nearest Rite Aid and go pick this up, and then I realized that there aren't any in Dallas at all. I checked Rite Aid's website and it looks like they don't sell City Color on their website, either. Grrr...
DeleteDid you try the City Color website?
DeleteThanks, Barbara! I think I might actually be getting this for review...great to get some feedback in advance, and I'll definitely check out Kris's review and add to the master list!. Thanks again!
DeleteIt turns out the City Color doesn't sell to the public on their website. The PR rep I contacted through their blog said they are working on implementing an e-Commerce site to be able to do this, but it's not ready yet. In the meantime, she offered to sell the palette to me via e-mail for $3.99 + $5.95 shipping. Not a bad deal if it really is a decent NAKED dupe, but for $10 I decided to just go out and buy the NYX palette I've been coveting instead.
DeleteTotally loved your post! Actually I included it on this weeks link love post on my blog.
ReplyDeleteWow! Thank, you so much! I really appreciate that. :)
DeleteI agree.. Naked 2 dupe list Pretty please... Because I sooo was not going to pay $50 for a palette that has one of the same exact colors from
ReplyDeleteN1, and a plain boring black shadow (plus the case is gigantic ;-/
There were also a few in there that were too glittery.. I like the colors for the most part and would totally be interested in a dupe/ similar list!
You are awesome! Thanks so much for your post!! I have this pallet but I don't give it that much use because after reading your post about it and its dupes, I found out that I already have most of its dupes LOL, so I use my dupes first ( I can afford those ones better LOL ) and then I will use the most I can of my Naked pallet so I can compensate the $ I spent for it :o)
ReplyDeleteVictoria's Secret just released a "The Nakeds Eye" kit, but has no picture(s) of what color the shadows are. Retails for $28
ReplyDeleteIncludes:
10 eye shadows
Eye liner pencil
Dual-ended eye shadow brush
