What's your favorite drugstore foundation, and why?
Everyone already knows mine: Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Powder Foundation SPF50. Powder foundations work the best for my oily skin, and I find the PF foundation to give me excellent coverage (I apply it with the sponge applicator that comes in the compact), it lasts all day and it keeps my oiliness at bay for most of the day. Plus, it never oxidizes (turns orange) and even as it wears off, it continues to look great. It's my holy grail drugstore foundation, and I buy a back-up whenever it's on sale. If PF ever discontinues this product, you're going to get sick of hearing me complain about it!
We have the same favorite! I use PF Healthy Wear Powder Foundation in Medium, and I don't know what I'd do without it. :]
ReplyDeleteI have found that so far my favorite has been Milani "The Multi-tasker" face powder. Just enough coverage for me!
ReplyDeleteI love Loreal Magic Smooth Souffle. It is available in shades that match me, is easy to use, gives perfect coverage for me, is smooth and natural looking and doesn't oxidize or look patchy by the end of the day. I can't feel it when it is on and most important for me, it doesn't contain any chemical sunscreen. :)
ReplyDeleteI like L'Oreal's True Match liquid. I have trouble finding a foundation with more pink undertones than yellow-their cool line delivers just that, though.
ReplyDeleteRevlon Colorstay... I was using MAC's Studio Fix Fluid for years, and someone told me to try Revlon. I tried it & never looked back! Its almost identical to MAC's foundation. :)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't really found a "favorite" drugstore foundation, but the Maybelline Pure Stay powder foundation isn't too bad, I recommend it!
ReplyDeleteNeutrogena Healthy Skin in Natural Beige (60). It provides nice coverage and has spf 20!
ReplyDeleteCoverGirl NatureLuxe Liquid Silk foundation holds the top spot for me! I have dry skin, and CG makes my skin feel soft, not dry OR oily. I have found that of any drugstore foundation it lasts the best on my skin, and I actually cannot say anything about how it looks when it wears off because on me it stays until I remove it. It even holds the rest of my face makeup on, too! I've also found one tube of it will last me for months. I love this stuff, and it would be pretty difficult to top it.
ReplyDeleteMaybelline Dream Smooth Mousse!
ReplyDeleteI have other foundations and tend to use this one when I am in a hurry and every time I LOVE the way it looks on my skin! So, I expect that they will discontinue it soon. :/
Just seems to be my luck!
My favorite is your favorite too. And it's because of YOU! I never would've tried the PF if you hadn't mentioned it. My skin is mega oily so I need mineral powder too. Btw, I know I'm older than you so just wanted to let you know something. I swear oily skin keeps wrinkles away. I'll be 50 in Dec. & I still don't have any crows feet. So embrace that oily skin Hunny! xoxo
ReplyDeleteMy absolute all time favorite is Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. I love the feel and look of this after I apply it. And it's got great stay on power. I go on frequent motorcycle rides and at the end of the rides, my foundation still looks great.
ReplyDeleteSo far my favorite is Revlon Color Stay for oily/combination skin. I keep hearing about Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse but I'm not sure I want to try it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't found a favorite foundation yet from the drugstore. I used to the love the Pure Foundation from Maybelline (the one that's 50% water), but it's been discontinued. I hear so many good things about Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse so I'm gonna try that the next time I go to the drugstore!
ReplyDeleteYour favorite has become mine! PF Healthy Skin! Medium in summer, light now that my sunless tanning days are waning with the temperature.
ReplyDeleteBTW you would LOVE NYX translucent powder. Inexpensive and the perfect mid-day touch-up.
I haven't found a good drugstore foundation for me yet. I have acne and I need good coverage and I don't want the foundation to be bad for my skin. Does the Maybelline Mousse work well for coverage and not causing acne? I'm also curious about the neutrogena healthy skin one. Does that have good coverage? If I can't find a good drugstore one, I'm going to the Estee Lauder counter.
