Important BOGOFREE and sale updates!

Two important bits of info for you regarding the drugstore sales that started today (Sunday):

A huge thanks to reader makeupaddict for this one: this week (9/4 - 9/10), Wet n Wild eye, lip and nail products are BOGOFREE at CVS! This wasn't listed in some of the ads that are currently online, so my guess is that this ad only ran in regions where CVS stores carry the full core display of Wet n Wild products (like this). So if you don't see this listed in your local CVS ad for this week, take some products to the scanner and see if they come up BOGOFREE!

A huge thanks to reader heatherkelley for letting us know that she spotted BOGOFREE sale signs up on the new Rite Aid brand makeup brushes at her Rite Aid. So I guess they ARE included in the sale (ad states all cotton, applicators and sponges are BOGOFREE). Just FYI, I am posting my review of one of these brushes today, in case you're interested.

UPDATE: I just called my local Rite Aid and they told me the brushes are NOT included in the BOGOFREE sale, so be sure you ask your store to scan your brushes before you buy them and see if they come up BOGOFREE.

And finally, a reminder about the Sally Beauty clearance sale:

Now through tomorrow (9/5) this red tag clearance sale is going on IN-STORE AND ONLINE (if shopping online, use promo code 555991 at checkout).

As we all know, the deals IN-STORE are always better than the online deals and they vary from store to store. A kind reader emailed me yesterday to let me know what she was able to find at her local Sally on clearance and she really scored! She was able to pick up a $45 Helen of Troy straightener for $10 (wow!) and she also got some Fingerpaints and Nina Ultra Pro polishes for a dollar each.

PS: If you're shopping online, be sure to add code 555991 after you've put some items in your cart to see if they're truly on clearance. For example, I put an Orly nail polish from the clearance section in my cart but the 50% off code did NOT apply. BUT, when I put one of these shadows in my cart, the code DID apply and $2 was deducted from the price of the item (I was charged $1.99 instead of $3.99). So test the code on the things you want and see if they come up 50% off.

Thanks SO much to everyone who contributed info to this post. I really appreciate it!

  2. Not sure which BOGO deal you're referring to, but I'll assume you mean WnW. And yes, I saw it mentioned on other sites and also the Wet n Wild Facebook page. It's BOGOFREE, not BOGO1/2OFF.

  3. Oh I'm sorry for not being specific I meant the Rite Aid Brand Brushes. I was looking at them the other day.

  4. Oh, ok! Now the Rite Aid deal I'm NOT so sure about (did you see my update to this post above?). I called my local Rite Aid and they told me the sale does NOT include the brushes (the other things listed are BOGOFREE, not BOGO1/2OFF though). But a reader said she saw signs near the brushes, so my best advice would be to take the brushes to the register and ask them to scan them before you buy them. Hopefully they'll come up BOGO but I'm just not sure.

  5. I am also not sure if the Rite Aid Maybelline sale includes all Maybelline. It appears, from the marketing at my store, that it includes things from the Eye Studio line as well as the Fit Me line.

  9. I'm glad you told me about the WnW deal. They were unmarked at my CVS, but scanned at Bogofree. I would not have known about the deal if not for your blog. (Why can't CVS mark them?)
