Since news of this sale has surfaced, the number one comment/email/tweet that I've been receiving on a daily basis comes from those of you who, when at your local CVS, do not see sale signs or stickers on the clearance items listed on my original post.
I want to apologize for not conveying this clearly, because I tried to explain on my original post (see paragraph in red) that if you don't see sale signs or stickers, you must take the product to the red scanner box and scan it. Most of the time (but not all), the clearance price will come up in the system. So PLEASE, don't automatically think the sale is not going on in your area just because you don't see signs or stickers. Scan, scan, scan!
If you're unsure what the red scanner box looks like, please watch this:
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and again, sorry that I wasn't more clear about that.
PS: And apologies to those who HAVE scanned items and found that they're not showing up in the system as on clearance. Perhaps (I have no way of knowing, of course) your local CVS isn't participating in the sale, so the only thing I can suggest is to try another location and hopefully you'll have better luck.
Even if you don't see a red scanner box, look for a small gray box at the back of the store. My CVS didn't have a Magic Coupon Machine until recently (or I missed for months, sounds like me... lol). If you STILL can't find it, ask a store rep! All CVS's should have these by now! Sometimes a store will have marking on the ground that will "lead" you to the savings.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much, Linda!!! :D
ReplyDeleteALSO, if you don't have a green bag tag already, the coupon machine is spitting out FREE coupons for GBTs! I already have 2, but I can get another to stash in the car :)
ReplyDeleteIt takes to effort. Just carry your cheap makeup out the door and BAM, you can get more ECBs to spend on even MORE makeup! LOL
Nothing at my CVS was marked, I had to scan everything. Most of the stuff listed in the master CVS clearance post came up as on sale except for the oil-free makeup remover, which kind of made me want to cry. LOL. Thanks so much for this extremely helpful post. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah- NOTHING was marked as clearance! Had to use the big red machine! The CVS travel size eye makeup remover came up as $1.87.
ReplyDeleteAll of the Essie French Affair polishes were 50% off though- score!!!!!
yeah i was dissapointed that when i scanned the Almay triple effect mascara it was not on sale. Maybe i will try another location. I took some i got back to rite aid on sale to get this because it would have been a better deal. Oh well hopefully Wags or Rite Aid will have a 40% off soon or CVS could be nice and put it on clearance since I have a $2 off coupon.
ReplyDeleteI found a hidden gold mine in a local store that doesn't have any stickers on anything.....but it's ringing up clearanced - yes! I will say that some items seem to differ from what you've posted, and even stores within five miles of each other. Not all rimmel sexy curves are coming up clearanced, for example, and ones that are at one store, aren't at another. The travel cvs apricot scrub came up clearanced at one store, but not the one I visited tonight. It's weird.
ReplyDeleteBest thing to do is have a list of stuff that people are finding on clearance (I emailed myself a list of your updated info so I could browse it on my phone while shopping) and go down the line checking it out.

my local cvs is missing a whole lot of stickers but its better that way! i went to another cvs before and all the essie polishes are GONEEEEEEE. i snagged up revlon polish for 4.99 with 4 extra bucks and the essie polish is 4.15 so i got 2 great polishes for 6 dollars. im soooo happy thanks again!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs of yesterday afternoon, some of the WnW items were stickered, but not coming up at clearance prices. I overheard one sales associate tell another that an email had gone out about that, and that it should be fixed soon. So check your receipts!
ReplyDeleteI ventured into a different neighborhood than normal since I had to visit the MAC Pro store (Back to MAC freebies!) in my city. Anyhoo, I figured there was a CVS somewhere nearby on my way home so I googled the location and walked over. Nothing was marked so I scanned based on your list. Not only did I get SH Lavender Cloud and Yellow Kitty (1.09/ea since I had $1 off coupons I found at Meijer), I snagged Essie's Coat Azure & Sand Tropez, Rimmel's Purple Rain nail polish($.17-after coupon), Spicy Bronze e/s ($1.12)& WP Sexy Curves mascara ($1.26-after coupon), I found two other gems I've been trying to find for months! Milani's Famous duo e/s (paid full price but the displays in my local stores don't even have a space for it and it's not online anymore) and five of the WnW Mermaid's Cove polishes, including Waves of Enchantment. I used $5 Beauty Club bucks and coupons. Savings: $76.56!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that I also snagged one of each shade of the Revlon Colorstay Mineral finishing powders. I live by the Suntan Matte and Sunkissed but am trying Brighten based on your recommendation.
ReplyDeleteashwillis83, all of the Almay Triple Effect mascaras aren't on sale, only one, the waterproof, if I remember correctly.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you guys know to check multiple CVS stores. I go to one CVS and I find something but then go to one 5 min down the road and they have nothing. I talked to a girl that used to work for them and she told me that every store is different and it goes by how popular something is. For example a certain revlon lipstick may not sell at one store very well and goes on sale but sells super good at the one down the road therefore they don't put it on sale. Just thought I would share this info I learned. : )
