If you saw my post from yesterday, you know that NYX was going to run a sale starting at noon Pacific today (Sunday) and many items on the site would be on sale for $1.20 each (to commemorate their 12th anniversary). Well, I wasn't near a computer at noon today, but I've received some comments from you indicating that the NXY site has been experiencing technical difficulties. It's my understanding that the technical issues are due to the volume of people trying to access the site.
So...if you were able to get on and actually make a purchase at some point today, CONGRATS! If you're like the rest of us, and haven't been able to access the sale at all, let's hope things are back up and running soon.
I know we're all so curious about what's going to be on sale--if you are able to get on the site, feel free to leave a comment and let us know. It would be wonderful to hear what you purchased, etc. Thanks!
Site has not been able to upload..so nobody has been able to purchase things...NYX said that sale will be for 12 hours regardless at what time they start....
ReplyDeleteHi G! I am still unable to get on and I've been waiting from the start. A heads up though..you CAN see what is on sale if you go to NYX's facebook and "like" them...then go to their "store" tab and you'll see the products that are available and show $1.20 as the price. I'm excited for the HD foundation and lipsticks and eyeshadows. Shipping is usually ridiculous with these sales but if you get enough I'm sure it's still a steal if you break it down.
ReplyDeleteAccording to NYX's Twitter, EVERYTHING (excluding makeup kits, brush kits and train cases) will be available for $1.20! The only restriction is that you may not buy more than one shade of a certain product. Can't wait until the site is back up!!!
ReplyDeleteHi!!! You can take a look at the stuff that will be on sale if you want. You have to "like" their facebook page. From that page, there is a button on the left that says "Store". If you click on it, it shows the types of items that will be included in the sale.

ReplyDeleteOn twitter, NYX said they are going to extend the sale since people haven't been able to access the site for so long. :)
According to the NYX site, the sale's started and is going to run from 5PM to 5AM! People (including me) are still having trouble accessing the site, but NYX says its on!
ReplyDeleteI've had the best luck accessing their products via the FB page, but I haven't managed to get so far as actually ordering anything yet...grr!
I've tried to get on the site from 3pm EST until now, whenever I was near my computer. The site won't load and Nyx's staff has been less than polite over the situation.

Yep, still down for me too. Every time I try all the pages are "service unavailable" - did we break it? LOL

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure they extended the sale to Monday, 12pm pst, because of all of the issues. I've gotten the front page to load, but if I try to go to a specific page at all, I always get the service unavailable message.
ReplyDeleteI'll guess I'll see what I can get in the morning! I really hate all of the complaining I'm seeing on Twitter/Facebook, because technical problems happen and they've been extremely helpful with replying to tweets/messages. The fact that they're communicating with customers is awesome!
It is 4:26am Pacific time and I am ashamed to say I have been trying to place an order for over FOUR hours now! I finally got all my stuff into my basket and when I tried to checkout - the site went down. I don't own any NYX products and because the company did not have the foresight to ensure their servers would be able to handle the massive amount of traffic a sale like this causes, I never will. Ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteLast night I was able to get a bare bones version of the page to load & log in but when I tried to go to a specific page it booted me out. Still not able to access this morning. Was hoping for some pretties at a great prices but looks like it's not meant to be. Headed to work soon & won't be able to access the site from work.
ReplyDeleteIt's 8:20 am on the East coast and the NYX page still won't even load for me. I just figure I'll buy my NYX from beauty bloggers that have their own stores-I'd rather pay the extra and support them than NYX corporate at this point.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby managed to order some stuff for me in the middle of the night :] Now I've noticed the sale is still on, so I've loaded my cart an been trying to check out for over 1,5h !!! Everything was slow but reasonably smooth, it's the last freaking step that's impossible to get behind ... SO FRUSTRATING !!!!

I tried to get to the sale from 3:30pm to 9:30pm central time and couldn't get *anything* to load. Their servers weren't prepared for all the publicity the sale garnered on the blogosphere. I hope they extend it since it would be nice to *see* what exactly was on sale. Ah well, congrats to those who were able to shop!

ReplyDeleteThey should be ashamed of themselves. This was a cluster....if I have ever seen one. And to try and woo us with 50% off and free shipping? Really? I tried from the time it started till the time it ended to no avail. They were rude, the customer service sucked...
