I want to thank so many of you for participating in these group reviews of the products we received in our Target beauty sample bags a few weeks ago. If you missed the first two group reviews and would like to add your thoughts (or just see what others have said) you can see the first two group reviews here.
For group review #3, we're tackling the Pantene shampoo sample. I realize that not everyone got the sample for fine hair, (Fine to Volume) featured in the above photo. I believe that some of you got the shampoo for curly hair, so if you'd like to leave your review in the comments, just be sure to indicate which formula you received.
Looking forward to reading your reviews!
PS: The next group review will be for the Fekkai shampoo and conditioner samples we received, so if you haven't tried those yet, get to it!
I received the Fine to Volume shampoo in my sample bag. Even though my hair is thick and coarse/dry on the ends I loved this stuff to really clean up my greasy roots and cleanse styling product out of my hair. As for volumizing properties, I can't really tell since my hair has quite a bit of volume to begin with. I didn't have to use a lot of it despite having thick hair. A good sign. All in all, its a great shampoo but wouldn't be a first choice to purchase for me (for obvious reasons).
ReplyDeleteP.S. It smells wonderful too!!
I got the Pantene curly shampoo. I've used it before and I definitely will again. Paired with the conditioner, the Pantenes make my hair soft, shiny, and fairly easy to style. If left unattended my hair is naturally cork-screw perm curly. So I really like it when a shampoo/conditioner work as well as Pantene.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't care for is the smell. I like fruity hair products and Pantene's rather perfumey. I'll deal with it for the price!
BTW G., I love that Creme of Nature you recommended! I let my hair go natural on Saturday and used the argan oil coupled with my mousse (Sebastian, it smells divine!) and my curls were insanely perfect!
I received the Fine to Volume shampoo. My hair is fine and straight so this was a great match!
ReplyDeletePros:
- I like the smell-fruity yet light
- I like that it's clear. (Does that count? Hate unnecessary dyes)
- This is a lightweight shampoo, it cleans without leaving residue
- Lathers well
Cons:
- NO volume change for me. Hair is still super flat (I haven't found a volumizing shampoo that really works yet, though)
- If you plan to use this daily, you need a good conditioner because this can dry out hair since it's a rather harsh soap
I would not buy this again because I wash my hair every day and my hair becomes very dry unless I use a moisturizing shampoo like the L'Oreal Hydra Gloss.
Oddly enough, this may be perfect for people who DON'T need volumizing, but just want to clean their hair because well, this DID clean my hair perfectly. :P
I received the Fine to Volume shampoo sample. I didn't like it, because it made my normally soft hair dry and coarse, like I'd forgotten to condition it. Definitely not going to buy this product. I'll stick to what I'm using now, which is pretty darn good. :)
ReplyDeleteI got the fine version, but unfortunately could not use it because my hair is color-treated. COlor treated hair cannot use shampoos with sodium lauryl sulfate because it strips the color.
ReplyDeleteI still havent gotten mine...im sad whats going on with target lol
ReplyDeleteI did receive the fine to volume shampoo in my bag. I have never really like Pantene shampoos because they give me dandruff like crazy. This one is no exception. I used it one and it caused my scalp to itch and flake. Its still sitting in my shower. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Probably use it as a shave gel!
ReplyDeleteI got the Fine to Volume. I took this with me when I went on a vacation 3 weeks ago. It didn't really give my hair volume as promised in the packing. However, it controlled my my frizzy hair quiet well. I didn't have to apply freeze ease or gel to control it. It's actually pretty awesome!
