I want to thank my amazing reader T-Rex for this info--she went back to her local Rite Aid after I posted about the unadvertised clearance sale in this post and provided us with MORE info, and it's even better than we thought!
Here's a summary:
Your Rite Aid may or may not have clearance signs next to the existing core collection CQ and Petites Color Fever polishes. This clearance does NOT apply to the new shades I showed you in this post. It looks like they're clearing out existing polishes to make room for the new shades.
If you do NOT see a clearance sign, take the polishes you want up to the register and ask a cashier to scan them. T-Rex confirmed that the following shades were coming up on clearance at her local Rite Aid:
CQ (ringing up at $0.79):
Gem Green (frosty mint green), Halo Pink (sheer looking hot pink), Sunset Blaze (medium frosty burgundy), and Cabernet (vampy creme). There were a couple of empty slots, so there may have been others.
Petites Color Fever (ringing up at $0.99):
Black Diamond (yay!), Violet Frost, Fairy Pink, Twilight, Candy Green, Wild Plum, Snowflake, Empress, and Diamond Envy.

ReplyDeleteI went to Rite-aid tonight and got CQ Sunset Blaze and Gem Green on sale. Along with Petites Universe (.49) and Wet 'n' Wild Morbid (.49). They had other Petites (Java and one other I can't remember the name of) and Wet 'n' Wild (Lust, Rustic, and Goldmine) colors on sale as well. There were quite a few empty slots. Other WnW cosmetics were 75% off too.

So after reading this sale update I went to my local Rite-Aid and there were yellow 75% off stickers all over the CQ and Petites polishes! I was like this :D. So I grabbed Periwinkle, Vintage Gray, and Grey Sparkle. The cashier rings them up and none of them rang up 75% off! :(. He said because none of them had the "yellow clearance" sticker on the bottle! I ended up purchasing the Periwinkle. I had a $2 off coupon. You're right G this color is amazing!! Hope everyone else has better luck with the clearance polishes than I did! :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it's only the existing core polishes that are not being carried forward that are clearanced. So things like Vintage Grey and Periwinkle that are in the new display mentioned here are not on clearance. The colors that are on clearance for super cheap are the ones that don't appear in the display with the new colors.

And I just want to say how much "at home" I feel here with my fellow nail polish addicts and bargain hunters.
Thanks so much for the tip about these! I picked up a bunch today and put a cute little set together for my daughter's Easter basket. Also, this is crazy: I found two more snowman polishes sitting right in the middle of everything! I checked out the Borghese Rapido display while I was there and it looked pretty good - until I realized that almost everything on it had been replaced with polishes from their regular collection. Bummer!
