I want to give a HUGE thanks to my wonderful reader Bubblex23, who emailed me a picture that literally made me gasp! She told me that the darkest shade in the Wet n Wild LE Pixie Palette, Sugar Plum Fairy, is "an exact dupe" for NARS Mekong. And as if that weren't enough, she included side-by-side swatches to prove her point!

I want to once again give full credit to the amazing JenJen for the image of the Sugar Plum Fairy palette. Way back in September, JenJen was one of the very first people to find and swatch these fantastic little palettes. Since September, I don't know how many times I've gone back and referred to her incredibly informative post, so please click here if you haven't seen it already. Thanks again, JenJen!
Looking at the photos above, it's hard to tell that this is a dupe, but when you see Bubblex23's photo, there is NO doubt:

Um, WOW! Between the MAC Club dupe in the Night Elf palette, and the countless other MAC dupes people have been spotting in these Pixie Holiday palettes, I already thought these little gems were worth their weight in gold. But now a NARS dupe too? So fantastic! I think there's no doubt these palettes are the drugstore must-have of the season, if not the entire year. For just $4.99 each, they're a total no-brainer.
Another HUGE thanks to Bubblex23 for the fantastic dupe alert (with a wonderful image), and to JenJen for the great post!
Do you already own any Wet n Wild Pixie Holiday palettes? If so, which ones have your purchased and where did you find them? So far the only drugstore that, I believe, has yet to put these out is Rite Aid. Hopefully they'll land there soon!
OMG i was just thinking that when i swatched my palette!! love wnw for including some dupes in the palettes =]
ReplyDeleteI'm still searching for these!
ReplyDeleteI swear the people at my local drugstores must think I'm crazy. I drove to three Walgreens on my day off last week, and none of them had the palettes yet. :(
If anyone in Jersey knows any drugstores that have these out yet, pleeeassee let me know. :D
Wow that's an amazing dupe! I am still on the hunt for these... ! Better get them before my coupon from All You expires, if it hasnt already :) I've been holding off until I find these.
ReplyDeleteMy jaw literally dropped when I saw those swatches! How Awesome! Makes me want these even more but I can't find them here in Canada *pout* Thanks so much for this post!
ReplyDeleteI just found the WNW Pixie collection @ Meijers(Midwest only) and my Rie aid on the End Caps. Im make the End Capsmy first stop prior to hitting the main aisles!! Meijers also has the holiday collections for Nicole by Opi, Studio M, and mini sets of polishes gift sets
ReplyDeleteAmazing! The whole palette looks great. Would it be too greedy to ask for swatches of the entire palette?
ReplyDeleteI purchased all 4 of them from Walgreens in Union City, CA. I've also seen them in CVS in Fremont, CA.
ReplyDeleteDupes make me sooo happy :]
ReplyDeleteI REALLY wish I could get my hands on this one!! I have Golden Goddess and Night Elf but I want this one worst! Everywhere that has these is out of this one! Oh well :( Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGreat dupe!! So glad I picked this up and Golden Goddess!!! I found mine at Walgreens in Houston!
ReplyDeleteHUGE thanks to those of you who indicated where you've been able to find these palettes! That helps so many of us out!
ReplyDeleteI just have to say that I haven't seen a frenzy over an LE drugstore product in, well, never! I know the SH Hidden Treasure frenzy was huge, but this one tops it, in my opinion.
I'm sending good palette-finding-vibes out to each and every one of you right now. I hope you all find a fully-stocked display SOON and can get whatever palettes you want! xo
And Andra: I included a link to JenJen's review in this post--she swatched ALL the colors in this palette and also Night Elf. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen these yet, but I know the drugstores keep displays on top of shelves when there is no room for them so I've been looking up too. I am going to check Rite Aid next.
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I could find these WnW Pixie Holiday palette north of the border, but I've had no luck. Do you have the E.L.F. studio shadow in Coffee Bean by any chance? Nars Mekong reminds me of it, but it seems that no one has made that comparison before (at least not on Google Images).
ReplyDeleteawesome! i knew when i first swatched this that it must be a dupe for a nars eyeshadow (from what ive seen online), but considering as how i dont HAVE any nars eyeshadows, was just waiting for someone else to call it out. bravo wet n wild! =D
ReplyDeleteIf you are in the Pacific Northwest or Alaska, Fred Meyers has them (I think it's Krogers everywhere else).
ReplyDeleteI was in Walgreens yesterday and saw them poorly displayed on the side of an end base.
Casey aimee ----do you have Kinney Drugs in NJ? That is the only place in Central NY that I found the palette. Try Kinney if there are some near you.
ReplyDeleteI found 3 or the 4 at Walgreens on an end cap. If I hadn't walked down that aisle,I wouldve never saw it. Ironically I dont have Sugar Plum Fairy!! But I hope they will land in my hometown CVS'. I had to drive 30 miles to that Walgreens to find them. I was determined to cover the Upstate SC to locate them THAT DAY!lol!
ReplyDeleteAmazing dupe! I still can't find these in my area and it's driving me crazy. And yes, I looked at the end caps. :-/
ReplyDeleteI haven't found these yet either. I couldn't believe my Walgreens, they hardly have any makeup besides the normal stuff, every shelf for LE products is covered in fragrance gift sets. It's just disgusting. GAH!
ReplyDeleteI'll check CVS tomorrow, but won't get my hopes up.
I am in love of WnW. I have not try a lot of their eyeshadows before, but recently I took the opportunity of the 50% sale in Waggs to purchase some palletes. I love them soo soo much. They are amazing. Love love them so much. I don't know if they change their formula or not, but all of their shadows are smooth and super pigmented. I cannot wait for more sale and more palletts that they will come out with.
ReplyDeleteRebbecca is right, look up! I've seen lots of things (at Walgreens mostly) up on the very top of the shelves in almost every aisle waiting for space on the lower shelves. I haven't found any WnW holiday palettes yet (and kind of glad I'm not the only one getting antsy especially hearing all the great dupes in them!)
ReplyDeleteI finally did see the train cases and small kits with the trios at CVS, but of course I already had those shades :)
Nope these weren't at my CVS either. I'm gonna try a different Walgreens tomorrow, but I have a feeling I'm just not gonna get these. :(
ReplyDeleteYES! I have this palette and had no idea there was a dupe in there and especially a Nars dupe! Awesome!! :D
ReplyDelete♥
This is one of THE most informative blogs I've seen all year! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteI think the right middle color is close to MAC Trax, too.
