Important Wags and CVS info!

A HUGE thank to so many of you who commented and emailed me the following info!

First, at Walgreens, it turns out that Wet n Wild is 50% off this week. I didn't see this in the preview fliers, so I'm sorry I'm only just now telling you about it. I'll update my Best Drugstore Sales of the Week page to reflect this deal--it's a GREAT time to get the Wet n Wild Pixie Holiday palettes if your Wags has them (especially if you're still holding on to one of those $5/$10 WnW coupons from All You mag that expire 12/30)!

Next up, several of you told me that there's a super-secret EOS lip balm sale going on at CVS right now, and I want to personally thank everyone who took the time to let me know about this because I went to CVS today and here's what happened:

EOS lip balms are on sale for $2.99 (regularly $3.99) and THERE ARE NO SALE SIGNS on the shelf/display. But trust me, I took my EOS lip balm to the scanner and it came up $2.99 on sale.  So then when you pay, check your receipt because this is what prints out:

FREE EOS LIP BALM!! Whoo hoo!

But it gets better! I got this coupon on the same receipt:

A special 3-day-only 25% off sale!

And it gets even better! When I scanned my CVS card at the red scanner box, look what I got:

So, um, you can get a bottle of Revlon Perplex for absolutely free if you combine these coupons, with free money to spare!

Get on over to CVS and get your free EOS Lip Balm, and THEN get a free bottle of Perplex if your CVS has the Perplex display!

Happy freebies!

  1. There isn't a CVS where I live, but there is a Walgreens, so thanks for the WnW heads up!

  2. OK...I better get the Revlon coupon when I go to CVS next. All I EVER buy at CVS is makeup. However, the coupons I get are JUNK! $1 off their nasty house brand cookies, save 75 cents on candy bars....never the good ones I see people posting about!

    ***stomps off in a huff....***

  3. The WnW holiday palettes and gift sets (Daytime and Date...) are not included in the sale at Walgreens (well in my city). I was very disappointed.

  4. I'm sorry to tell everyone, but the Wet n Wild holiday palettes are NOT included in the 50% OFF sale. Oddly enough, the holiday polish sets (mini bottles) and shadow/mascara holiday sets ARE 50% OFF, but the 6-pan shadow sets (with the mini pencil) are NOT. The manager was trying to tell me that the holiday items are not included in the sale; only the core Wet n Wild cosmetics are...but he couldn't explain why the other wet n wild holiday items rang up with the 50%. Basically, I had to argue my point for a whole 15 minutes with the manager, who reluctantly gave me the discount. I say if the sale doesn't include the holiday collection, it should SAY SO in the ad. And, not to mention, it shouldn't ring some holiday items up on sale but not others. They are ALL Wet n Wild Cosmetic items, it didn't say anything about any exclusions. 'nough said.

  5. This is PERFECT! I've been wanting to get my friend some Wet 'N Wild for Christmas, since she is just starting to become interested in makeup but doesn't want to spend a lot of money. Time to go shopping!!! haha =] OH! And, surprise surprise, I stopped by a Walmart this weekend that isn't my usual one a little ways from me, and guess what I found? The Ultimate Expressions Eyeshadow Palettes!!! And for $3.49 each! I know, right?! Needless to say, I grabbed a few of each shade to give to some friends who are, like I said, just getting into makeup because of my obsession =) lol

    Man, do I love Wet N Wild!!!<3

P.S. Did you ever get my return email, G? (i.e. Costco)? just wondering

I'll have to go scan my card and see if I get something good!!

  8. Wooohoo! Awesome EOS coupon. Definitely hitting up CVS tomorrow to grab another of the lemon ones. Need a backup to leave by the bed cuz it's super yummy!

I did the walgreens 50% off thing with the WnW holiday palettes yesterday, and while the register didn't ring them up as half-off, I convinced the cashier that they should have been -- as the circular just says "Wet'n'Wild cosmetics 50% off" with no exclusions or anything -- so he did a price override.

So everyone -- be sure to ask them to do a price override because they *should* get the discount! :D

  10. Hey ladies: I'm so sorry to have stirred up controversy mentioning the WnW palettes! I know that last time Wags had a 50% off WnW sale, they didn't come up on sale but since there is no fine print in the ad, I had heard from a lot of you that you were able to get the discount after all (after speaking to a manager). I'm still very frustrated by this, because if they say that the "holiday" products don't apply, then why are the holiday polishes coming up on sale? Anyway, I'm with Rachel on this one--it doesn't hurt to ask (politely!), but I'm so sorry if you don't get them for 50% off. Doesn't seem fair. :(

PS: Becky, I love you too, girlie! xo

  11. Oh man, I just got back from Walgreen's and purchased two of the pixie palettes and didn't get them half off. I'm going to try to go back and see if they will give me the difference?!

  12. ya i didnt want to make a big stink about it (if it came down to it) since i go to walgreens all the time and didnt want to be "that" customer every time i went in. wouldve been nice if i got $50 off, but oh well, only a couple of bucks out of my pocket.

  13. today walgreens is having friends and family too. so if you go to their website you can print a coupon for 15% off.

  14. OMG thanks for the headsup! I'm in my PJs, but now I think I will go head there :]

  15. G. This is what I get from waiting to get those Wet and Wild palettes. They're all sold out at 2 of my walgreens. The manager said they wont get anymore. I said...nooo!!! it's not even Christmas yet! Ugh I think he's lying lol. There's another walgreens that I'm gonna check tomorrow and I hopefully they have it.

On the other hand, I'm pretty happy with the 50% off wet and wild stuff that I got.

    xoxo,
    becky :)

  17. Why is it that nyc walgreens ads is always different compared to other places? :( I didn't see 50% off WnW items, booo. However, yay for those people that got in on this deal !!

  18. If a Walgreens manager or employee refuses to honor the 50% off sale, you need to contact corporate. This issue happened the last time WnW went on sale. I too, couldn't get the holiday palette I wanted for 50% off. Complain because they should be honoring it. If you complain via email, the manager of the store receives it so it is more effective to call. I don't know how much this helps any one individual, but I do think the store ultimately hears from corporate about it and it clearly doesn't list restrictions so they will side with the customer on this one.

  19. Hi,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I contacted corporate about the wet n wild sale issue we were all having, and they relayed my message to a manager from my walgreens. He personally called me, apologized, and asked for me to come in to correct the price. He even said that the price should have been 50% off in the first place, or there should have been an exclusion in the ad. So, if you purchased those holiday palettes for full price, just contact corporate and have your receipts on hand. They should honor the sale that was clearly in the ad during that week. I was very impressed with how they handled this issue with me, so I wrote them a letter of thanks in return.
