Sears/Kmart Christmas Club Card Giveaway!

NOTE: THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER.

I've got some exciting news to share with you today (including a giveaway!) so I hope you'll take a moment to read this through this post, especially if you're a Sears and/or Kmart shopper!

I was recently given the opportunity to submit some interview questions to a "Financial Fitness Coach" named Sanyika Calloway Boyce, who is the author of Give Yourself Credit: How to Develop the Courage, Confidence and Commitment YOU Need to move Forward After a Financial Fall, and has appeared on various TV shows such as The Today Show on NBC.

Ms. Boyce responded to my questions in the video below and not only answered my question about the Sears/Kmart Christmas Club card, but also my question about tips for saving money on beauty products (you know I had to sneak in a beauty-related question!):

I was thrilled to hear that she suggested looking for beauty products in unlikely places, since I've mentioned a few times here that I find some of my best beauty deals at the grocery store. Obviously I absolutely agree with this advice, and I hope it inspires you to start doing some "detective work" when you're out and about.

But now on to the Sears/Kmart Christmas Club card (which, of course, can be used for any type of holiday shopping--it's not specific to Christmas so please note that if you do not celebrate Christmas, you can still make the most out of this card!).

The concept is simple, and it actually dates back to years ago when Christmas Clubs were all the rage. I'm happy to see that Sears/Kmart is "freshening" this card up and offering it to their shoppers because I think it's a fantastic way to start saving for the holidays NOW.

I don't know about you, but every year come November, I start to break into panic mode when I make my mental checklist of gifts I need to purchase in the coming month. Hopefully this year can be a little less stressful thanks to this card.

Here's how it works:
What is the Christmas Club card?

A reloadable gift card that gives you a way to save for holiday purchases and to get rewarded for what's saved.

How does the reward work?

A 3% reward (up to $100) of stored value will be awarded based on your balance on November 15, 2010 at 11.59 pm EST. The reward will be added to your Christmas Club Card by November 24, 2010. Remember, only Christmas Club cards that have been purchased and activated on or before 10/31/10 will be eligible to receive the 3% reward.

Where can I use my Christmas Club Card?

The Christmas Club Card can be used at Sears (sears.com), Kmart (kmart.com), mygofer.com, Lands’ End (landsend.com), and The Great Indoors (thegreatindoors.com).

For answers to additional questions, please click here and click on "Frequently Asked Questions".

Sounds pretty neat, right? I went on the Sears site to check out their savings plan calculator and it definitely made me less stressed out to know that if I started right now, I could save $100 for the holidays just by putting $8.33 on my Christmas Club card once a week. Sounds doable, right?

But here's the best part: If you're interested in starting your own holiday savings plan, I've got a pre-loaded Sears/Kmart Christmas Club card in the amount of $25 to give away to one lucky reader, compliments of MultiVu PR. If you win this card, it will be like you've already been saving for a few weeks! This could be a great little boost to your holiday shopping funds come December.

Please read all of the following rules before entering:

1) To enter, leave a comment on this post and answer the following question: If you won this card, what types of gifts would you purchase at Sears/Kmart? You must leave your email address in your comment. If you do not leave your email address in your comment, your entry will not be counted.

2) You may enter ONCE DAILY and, each time you enter, you may answer the question however you like (you can repeat the answer you gave me the first time, or you can tell me about other products you'd purchase at Sears/Kmart if you won this card).

3) Giveaway open to US residents only, 18 and over. Void where prohibited.

4) This giveaway begins today, August 26th, and will end Sunday, August 29th, 2010 at 11:59PM Pacific. I will select one winner via random.org's random number generator and notify the winner on Monday, August 30th. The winners will then have 24 hours to respond. If the winner does not reply within 24 hours, he or she will forfeit the prize and another winner will be selected. I will also announce the winner here on this blog, so if you do not receive my email , you can see if you have won by visiting my site on August 30th.

Thanks and good luck!
