Hello, my lovely readers! I just wanted to post a quick update and let you know about a minor change that you'll be seeing around here, effective today.
It's been brought to my attention, by the lovely Mary Hall, that the name "The Recessionista" is trademarked in the state of California, and belongs to her (check out Mary's wonderful blog here, btw, if you haven't seen it yet). So to avoid any confusion, I've changed my screen name from Recessionista to Gianna. Or, you can just refer to me as my friends do, and call me "G". :)
So while I've loved using this catchy lil' screen name during the time I've been blogging (and I've also loved all your nicknames you've given me, like R, Rec, Recess, etc.) change is good and change can be fun as well, right?
Love,
G. (formerly R.) xo
haha Sup, G? =P (couldn't resist)
ReplyDeleteYou are too Kind!! G POWER, I love it.
ReplyDeleteHope too see you at BlogHer in NYC! :)
xo The Recessionista, Mary
Hahahaha! If I had a dime for every person in my life that's said that to me over the years, I'd be rich! (I love it though, and I love when people call me "G"...I always have). :D
ReplyDeleteMH: You are so welcome! I don't think I'll be making it to BlogHer, but hopefully we can meet up eventually since we're in the same state, right? :)
ReplyDeleteaww hi Gianna :) much prettier anyway haha <333
ReplyDeleteKellie: Awww, thank you honey! xo
ReplyDeleteYou are entirely too gracious about this. I wonder how I could go about trademarking a rather commonly-used lexical item derived from making a portmanteau of two other currently popular words and then preventing others from using it? Maybe something from "web" and "log"... or "spoon" and "fork"...
ReplyDeleteHow about The Blogger Formerly Known as Recessionista? Or maybe just a symbol? :D
ReplyDeleteWow. Well A trademark is a trademark. It's all good. I'll enjoy calling you G-Money
ReplyDeleteI liked Recessionista, but I LOVE Gianna!!! what a beautiful name! i would love to name one of my daugthers that.
ReplyDeleteGianna! What a pretty name! I thought for a moment that the name change was going to be your blog!
ReplyDeleteThought your friends call you R - for other reason than Recessionista, lol. Now I have to get used to calling you G haha
ReplyDeleteAgree with Russian Fortune Cookie, LOL... Although maybe you should copyright "'Sup, G?" now, hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI give you massive amounts of credit for being so relaxed about the change, although RFC's response made me giggle a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteI've always adored the name Gianna though, so it's an even better upgrade!
-_- YOU are THE Recessionista. I refuse to acknowledge anyone else as the The Recessionista. However, I do think Gianna is a gorgeous name. =) You will always be my #1 Recessionista!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything Russian Fortune Cookie said.
ReplyDeleteAnd while Gianna is a beautiful name, the trademarking and calling you out on it? Uh, ish.
A rose by any other name smells just as sweet. You're an awesome & wonderful blogger Queen G =)
ReplyDeletewhoops, missed this. i can't call you anything but the Recessionista in my heart- it's going to be confusing me for a few days- but i will try to stick to R. or G.
ReplyDeleteheck maybe i should just call ya ROY G. BIV.
and agree with RFC.
