I don't know how many more of these I can take! (Who am I kidding--I'm kind of obsessed with them.)
So check it out. Last night I was going through my Google Reader, trying my best to catch up on many of the blogs I subscribe to (it's impossible to read every post on every blog but I sure as heck try!). And that's when I stumbled across a post by the lovely Khymm at Shopcoholic for Makeup. Khymm is located in the Philippines and she reviews a great mix of products that are available in both the Philippines and the US, but also lots of intriguing products that are rather difficult for Americans to get their hands on, which often inspire some serious lemmings in me (see Khymm's Skin Food Dark Circle Salmon Eye Concealer review--I neeeeed this!).
So when I saw Khymm's review of Maybelline Eye Studio 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner, I immediately said, "Wait. What's this?" and then when I saw the picture in Khymm's review, I instantly recognized that all-too-familiar black pencil. Friends, it looks like Maybelline is throwing their hat into the UD 24/7 dupe ring!
After doing some research, I think it's safe to say that Maybelline Eye Studio 2-in-1 Impact Shadow Liner (which yes, can be used as both shadow and liner, just like all the other variations out there) has not yet hit American shores. After a quick Google search, it looks like the only reviews online are coming out of the Philippines, so congrats, Philippines! I think you're the first to experience this product! (I did see that there is an ebay seller out of Hong Kong that's selling this on ebay's US site, and you can get it at Sasa.com as well).
If you take a look at the ebay listing, there is an image that shows this pencil available in many different shades. According to the seller, the shade descriptions are as follows (please note, these the seller's descriptions):
matte black
brown with gold glitters
shiny blue
dark purple with pink pearl glitters
cool light lavender
shimmer pink
olive with gold glittering pearls
shiny gold
silver with silver pearl
pearly white
I of course have NO idea if Maybelline will release all of these colors in the US when it finally launches here, but let's hope so, right?
So just a heads-up that, eventually (who knows when!), we will see yet another Urban Decay 24/7 dupe at our drugstores, and this time it's from Maybelline. Don't forget to check out Khymm's review for more details!
In the meantime, I would of course love to hear from any of you who have already experienced this eyeliner. And if you haven't, do you plan to pick one up once they're available?
PS: Just for the record, here are the UD 24/7 dupes that are currently available in US drugstores (I've reviewed all of them here on this blog with the exception of L'Oreal Extra Intense):
Cover Girl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner
Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner
Milani Liquif'eye Metallic Eye Liner
HiP Color Chrome Eyeliner
L'Oreal Extra Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner
If you know of any other dupes out there that I'm missing, please feel free to leave a comment and tell us about them!
Haha awesome! I collect the 24/7s for the different colors, so having even more color options with the same kind of long-lasting formula makes me really excited.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the most helpful posts! THanks for the tip! I am running low on my Zero and am hesitating on spending the moolah. So I'll probably try Milani next. :)
ReplyDeletei would definitely buy those. especially if they offered that many shade selections here in the US. as it is, i have the Milani and Prestige ones on my list for the day when i finally use up some of my 9,567,302 liners. :)
ReplyDeleteThese have been launched in India as well... They are really amazing & quite cheap too. Don't know how they compare to UD as we don't get that here, but this range has some really nice shades and is smudge proof too.
ReplyDeletehi! was shocked to see my name here =) glad you like my reviews! =) Regarding maybelline's shadow liners, they are really good.. so sad its not yet available in the US.. hopefully soon! =)
ReplyDeletei am amazed at the covergirl thing. i will have to check it out in person. not sure we have it here at all. i have great success with Dermablend recently. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are currently a lot of Skinfood sellers on eBay! I've gotten a couple of things for reasonable, close-to-retail prices. And, of course, you can save even more when you use Bing Cashback (before it ends at the end of July) and double it up with eBates or Mr. Rebates. :)
ReplyDeleteanother dupe is NYX slide on eye pencils! =]
