I've got some important, yet miscellaneous, info I'd like to share with you today, so it's time for another Odds 'n' Ends!
First off, if you saw my Jordana post from a few days ago, you know that I was a bit confused about the eyeshadow I reviewed. I bought it at a local dollar store, but I couldn't find it online at Cherry Culture or the Jordana website. Well I am delighted to tell you that Jordana contacted me recently to fill me in on the details. It turns out that the eyeshadow I reviewed is actually discontinued. BUT, Jordana is getting ready to release a whole new collection of brand new eyeshadow singles and duos very soon (hopefully I'll be able to get some for review!) and they will most likely be available on Cherry Culture, as well as through the Jordana website. I can't wait to see what they're going to be coming out with (nothing is available just yet). Oh, and by the way, did you know that our beloved Milani owns Jordana? I just found that out recently--I can't believe I never knew that before!
Next up, calling all flat iron users! The always fabulous Anthony over at TheArt&ScienceofBeauty is giving away an adorable HANA Pink Flat Iron to one lucky winner. Definitely check out his review (he says this flat iron "is a serious contender with the GHD Styler") and enter for your chance to win it. Also, I'm really excited to tell you that Anthony and I are going to be posting another set of tandem reviews tomorrow (he reviews a salon-brand hair care product and I review the less expensive knock-off). If you've missed our previous tandem haircare reviews, click here and here. So please check back because I'm super excited about this new haircare product we'll be reviewing.
Up next, I want to thank the owner of Gratitude Cocktail for the wonderful write-up about Nouveau Cheap. I had never heard of this adorable, tongue-in-cheek blog before (the owner writes a hilarious post every day about something she is thankful for) until someone emailed me to tell me I had been featured. Thank you so much, Gratitude Cocktail. I'm grateful!
And finally, I want to tell you that the amazing Lisa from Drugstore Divas just left some VERY helpful comments about the CVS slot machine on this post. She answers MANY questions that you all have asked me over the past several months, so definitely scroll down the comments on this post and see what she has to say. Also, she plans to write a more detailed post on her own blog about the CVS slot machine soon, so I'll let you know when that's up, in case you have any questions for her about why or why not you're receiving certain coupons.
That's it for now, but I will be back a bit later with a very exciting CVS announcement, so please check back!
Oooh, that's exciting about the new Jordana stuff! I found one of their eyeshadows in the pot with the screw top lid at a dollar store yesterday and the quality is actually much nicer than the one I have in the packaging like the one you got. And maybe the new stuff is why the Jordana display at my grocery store is half cleaned out. Not sold out. They just took out a ton of stuff but left the display up a month or two ago. They still have the nail polishes and some lip stuff though. And the dollar store next door has a bunch of the eyeshadows in the black packaging, so they must be cleaning out Jordana displays all over right now.
ReplyDeleteSorry for rambling. -_- I'm in the middle of packing and moving stuff today and my brain is dead.
Also, I'm glad you're doing another one of those tandem reviews. :D They're fun to read.
I'm looking forward to the new stuff! I've known that Milani owns Jordana which bugged me because we have Jordana locally (mostly the crappy stuff) and no Milani to be found! For years!
ReplyDeleteHana: Wow, I bet you're right, and they were just clearing out the display to make way for the new stuff. Yay!! How did your packing go? Are you done yet? I hate moving, so I feel your pain! Hang in there, honey. :)
ReplyDeleteConnie: Oh, I'm sorry to hear you don't have access to Milani and that the Jordana products you DO have access to aren't your faves. I wish Jordana (and Milani) were more widely available to everyone. :(
