Abba changed their packaging...again
I like Abba hair products because they're vegan, my hair responds well to them, and you can get them relatively inexpensively when they go on sale. But WHY, Abba, did you go and change your packaging again? And right when I was just getting used to the other packaging?
As you can see in the photos, Abba started out with white bottles and mauvey-pinkish lettering. Then a few years ago they switched to cream-colored bottles and green and brown lettering (sort of an Aveda-esque feel). Now, as I just discovered yesterday when I was in CVS, they've gone all "modern" and I'm not sure I like this new direction.
First of all, the packaging has a lot of copy on the front of the bottle. It's a bit much to take in at first glance, and you have to strain to figure out what type of product you're looking at when you're standing in the haircare aisle. I prefer a bottle that clearly tells you what it is on the front (shampoo for color-treated hair, for example), and then leaves the details for the back.
Also, I just realized that the product names themselves have changed. My favorite "Moisture Scentsation" conditioner is now called "Pure Moisture". Man, this is confusing!
Anyway, the upside to all of this is that we'll probably be seeing products with old packaging make their way to Marshalls, Big Lots or elsewhere soon.
Do you like the new packaging? I think it's just going to take me a little while to get used to...
