I just want remind you all that it's officially "Look Up" Season again at the drugstores. "Look Up" Season is what we here like to refer to as the time when the drugstores run out of room for all the holiday beauty products in the regular "new product area," so they resort to putting them on the high shelves in both the beauty department and other departments (in the case of my photo above, in the feminine care aisle). It's very important during this time of year to LOOK UP and scan the entire drugstore if you're looking for new beauty products because, particularly at Walgreens and Rite Aid, even the new makeup displays (Revlon, Maybelline, etc.) can sometimes be found on these high shelves in other departments. You just never know!
Today I'd like to show you some holiday products that I spotted at a local Walgreens a few weeks ago (I actually spotted these during the same trip as my Wet n Wild Fergie Holiday 2015 sightings). I'm guessing that many of you have already spotted these items at your local Walgreens, but I still wanted to post in case you haven't been to Walgreens in a while. So lets get started!
NOTE: This post is in no way comprehensive. There are MANY other holiday beauty sets at Walgreens right now, but these are just a few that caught my eye.
Located in the "Look Up" section at my Walgreens were several L.A. Colors holiday sets (both makeup and nail polish). This one is the Insta Glam set for $4.99. Here's a look inside:
I also spotted this Love 2 Love + Sally Hansen set, which I thought was kind of cool. You get a travel size Love 2 Love Fresh Rose + Peach EDT and a full-size Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polish in Disco Ball for $5.
Over in the regular "new beauty product" section, there was a boatload of gift sets. Here are some highlights:
I didn't catch a price on this SOHO makeup brush set--if you happen to know, I would appreciate if you'd comment below and filled us in!
I was surpirsed to see that Christian Siriano is getting into makeup. I don't know if these are just for the holidays or if there's more to come from him. I know a lot of you have spotted this set already (thanks for all the tips!) and longtime reader @bwitch17 on Instagram already purchased this set and was nice enough to share these swatches:

There's also a gloss set in this collection (I didn't see that one at my store), which you can check out on @bwitch17's Instagram HERE. @bwitch17 also swatched both the lip crayons and glosses side by side HERE.
More holiday sets from L.A. Colors:
These babyPop! mini gloss sets are cute, right?
Some highlights from Profusion (they have a TON this year--this is just small sampling):
The little palettes above ($3) in particular caught my eye because they are new for this holiday season, and the colors are so pretty. I was in a hurry and didn't get to photograph the inside of them, but thank goodness some of YOU did, and were kind enough to share pics!
Here are some pics from reader Kelly of the Blush palette:

Pretty colors, right? And Kelly said they're pretty darned pigmented, too.
And here are some pics of the Nude palette in this collection from reader Lindsay:

I want to apologize because I'm 99.9% certain that one of you also emailed me swatches of some of these palettes, but I cannot for the life of me find that email in my in-box (you do not want to know what my in-box looks like right about now!). If you sent swatches, I would be so grateful if you'd resend, so that I can add your pics to this post. Thanks!
My pal Jen over at The Budget Beauty Blog reviewed/swatched this blush set and it's so much prettier than what the box may lead you to believe. Check out her blog post HERE.
These little $1 palettes are back again this year. I had to giggle when I first saw the Smashbox Holiday 2015 Art. Love. Color. palettes because my first thought was, "Are they duping Profusion?" Profusion has been making these for the holidays for the past few years.
And guess what's back? Yay! You know how much I love these little $1 Twinkle Twinkle palettes. You can check out my 2013 review of the purple palette HERE.
This year there were also many Giordano Colors sets at my Walgreens (the ones below are $10 and $5):
I also spotted these nail polish cubes ($10) but I didn't see a brand on the label:

Last but not least, reader Oshin spotted this Revlon holiday display at her local Walgreens this week. These sets contain the heart-shaped mirror in the sets I showed you here, but you can see that there are some different/additional sets in this display. These retail for $9 - $15 and contain all full-size products.
I hope this post helps give you a better idea of what's out there right now at Walgreens when it comes to Holiday 2015. If you think I missed anything noteworthy in this post, I would absolutely love to hear from you in the comments below.
Thanks again, @bwitch17, Kelly, Lindsay, and Oshin, for the great sightings and pics!

Haha! I love "Look Up Season"!!!
ReplyDeleteI got the 24 color Profusion Nude palette and its fantastic! So I went and got another...
ReplyDeleteThe $3 profusion smoky and nude 24 eyeshadow palettes are really nice. I bought them a couple of weeks ago and keep reaching for them...over the more expensive palettes I own. I do use a primer with them, but I use a primer with all my shadows.
ReplyDeleteI'm dismayed. The Denver area I live in, the Walgreens didn't put up those high shelves. Now I see this and feel very slighted. :( The Holiday Beauty items went right to the new shelf area and around the beauty cash wrap.
ReplyDeleteThe corporate office is testing out stores this year for not having the shelves high like that for Christmas. However, stores got the same amount of gift sets as every other year. Interested to see how it plays out when all the new makeup comes in
DeleteHooray Look Up Season!! The most wonderful time of the year (besides CVS clearance)!
ReplyDeleteEpic post! I want it all!!
ReplyDeleteI need those blush and nude palettes!!! I know where I'm going soon😄😄😄😄
ReplyDeleteTati / GlamLifeGuru showed more than a few of these items in a drugstore haul with her sister the other day. They also filmed swatches of the products they bought!
ReplyDeleteThe Soho brush set retails for ten bucks :)
ReplyDeleteThe profusion " Beauty Adventure" palettes (the blue and purple palettes with little circle windows on the front) are amazing, the blue palette has this unique green/red duochrome shade in it! And the other shades are beautiful and pigmented. The Profusion Blush Boutique sets has two different shade selections, look for both if you find the display!
ReplyDeleteSo excited you used my picture! Love your blog! Thanks for posting amazing deals!
ReplyDeleteI saw these pallets sets at my Walgreens and new nothing about them so didn't get anything I hope I didn't miss out. Can't get there till next Monday. I u r so right about looking up. My wonderful Walgreens lady showed me that last week when I was in there. I was shocked I'm so short I don't usually look that high anyway and they even had the new Revlon pallets up there instead of any where near the ground. But I have a smaller store. Thanks so much for this review. Hopefully I can still find a cpl of these left maybe ppl were like me and didn't know and didn't buy. But this a college town and u have to beat them to most.
ReplyDeleteTall people cannot seem to grasp that short people don't look up. My husband is forever putting things up high and I am like DO YOU THINK I CAN SEE UP THERE? Haha!
DeleteIn other news, Soho brushes are pretty nice. I might have to snag that set!
Soho makeup brushes are $10 at my local Walgreens
ReplyDeleteI found a bunch of these at Walgreen's too. If I find that Revlon gift set with the 3 lip pencils, it will be mine!!!! I love look up season. But sometimes I feel embarrassed to ask someone to get something down for me. LOL! Does anyone else?
ReplyDeletehaha yeah im pretty tall so i was able to reach most of it but a couple things almost fell on my head while grabbing them :/
DeleteThank you this is a great article. I have been reading your blog for a long time. I remember you posting about a great online website for inexpensive cosmetics but i lost it. maybe you could refresh my memory.
ReplyDeleteI love the revlon set with the 3 lip pencils too
ReplyDeleteActually maybe it's profusion lol
ReplyDeleteProduct overload! Thanks and yay! It's like you have Christened the season. I'm ready!
ReplyDeleteOhmigod. I have been into Walgreen's more ever since they started putting this stuff out...Lord help me... Those Profusion Blush Boutiques-like someone said, there's two different sets-GET THEM. BOTH of them. You will NOT be sorry. Also, the $3 Nude/Blush/Neon Profusion palettes, also lovely. And...Wet n Wild has a set of 2 Velver matte crayons, 2 Vicious Varnishes, and 2 Perfect Pout lipsticks...one of which is BEBOT LOvE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was in Walgreens today, and they had sets of the Real Techniques makeup sponges 2 for $10.
ReplyDelete3 of the the Twinkle Twinkle palettes are slightly different this year. I have some comparisons on my instagram (aegriffin42) if you haven't seen them yet
ReplyDeletei was very sad i went to Walgreens AND Rite ad and they didn't have hardly any of the sets you all have posted about. Walgreens here had none of them.
ReplyDeleteThe drugstores start putting out these sets around Halloween. That's the BEST time to get them.
DeleteI have the Natural & Smokey palette (the dark pink and gold package) and I LOVELOVELOVE it. I also picked up the Make Me Blush set by Profusion; the style/format of them reminds me of NYX Cosmetics blushes.
