Spotted: Wet n Wild Halloween 2014 Collection (New Limited Edition 5-Pans, Balm Stains and More)

Wet n Wild fans: if you thought you could take a breather because you found all of the Fall 2014 Limited Edition Collection stuff you wanted, think again! Did you know that there's a new Wet n Wild Halloween 2014 Collection full of both permanent AND limited edition goodies?

Many thanks to reader Lisa, who spotted this display at her local Duane Reade (owned by Walgreens) this week. My contact at Wet n Wild has confirmed that this collection is exclusive to Walgreens and Duane Reade.

NOTE: Not to be confused with the Fantasy Makers by Wet n Wild Halloween 2014 Collection which is also now popping up in stores, the display you're about to see is filled with Wet n Wild products, not Fantasy Makers by Wet n Wild products.

Tons of pics, after the jump...

This display is broken up into four different "looks": Daring Downtown, Haute Hollywood, Eastside Enigma and Venice Vixen:

There is a mix of both permanent AND limited edition items in this display. There is a full list of ALL products in this display, both limited edition and repromotes, at the bottom of this post.

The right-hand side of the display contains mascara, lashes and both new and repromoted Coloricon 5-Pan Eyeshadows:

The 5-pan on the top shelf above is Floral Values, which is an existing, permanent 5-pan. Here are the Limited Edition 5-pans in this display:

UPDATE #2:
  • I spoke with my contact at Wet n Wild and can now confirm that the Halloween 2014 Collection is exclusive to Walgreens (and Duane Reade, owned by Walgreens). I can also confirm that it will be sold nationwide, available at about 6,000 of the 8,000 Walgreens locations across the country. Since this collection will not be available at every Walgreens location in the US, I will certainly create another sightings map, if that's something you'd like to see (please comment below if you would like a map for this collection).

  • My contact at Wet n Wild also confirmed that the 5-pans in the Halloween 2014 collection (as well as the 5-pans in the Fall 2014 Collection) have been updated with a new and improved formula (vs. the original, permanent 5-pans).

  • My contact also confirmed to me that they will be changing the original 5-pans to the new and improved formula, so eventually all of the 5-pans will have the improved formula that you may have noticed with the Fall 2014 5-pans. And that brings me to this:

image credit: Awilda for Nouveau Cheap
The Naked Truth (permanent) vs. Haute Hollywood (limited edition)

Reader Awilda shared with me that the limited edition 5-pan I showed you earlier in this post, Haute Hollywood, is actually identical to the permanent 5-pan, The Naked Truth (she confirmed that any differences you see in the photo above are due to lighting, and not visible to the naked eye).

Reader Jolie also confirmed this with this photo that she submitted:

image credit: Jolie for Nouveau Cheap
Haute Hollywood (limited edition) vs. The Naked Truth (permanent)

I realize that some of you may be disappointed to see the exact same color palette from the permanent line being offered as a limited edition palette, but my suspicion (I have NOT confirmed this with Wet n Wild) is that they were probably excited to introduce the new and improved formula in what's probably the most popular color palette of the permanent line. So they found a way to bring it to us a bit early (i.e. before they replace the permanent palettes with the new and improved formula). Again, this is just my suspicion, but it makes sense to me.

Next up, three additional limited edition Megalast lipsticks (for a total of six) that have been spotted in the Halloween display:

Reader Danielle on Facebook shared the pic above of two of the additional shades she spotted in her local Halloween display.

Urban Nights, Coming in Latte, Rose to Fame

And longtime reader Peaisms shared the pic above of the three shades that she found in her local Halloween display.

NOTE: As Peaisms pointed out, there is a Megalast Lipstick shade in the Fall 2014 Collection called Urban NIGHT (no "s"), but the product code is different for Urban NIGHTS (with an "s"). The code for Urban Nights is 34481, while the code for Urban Night is 34425. Urban Nights seems to be a bit deeper and more berry-toned than Urban Night, but of course I would have to swatch the two to be sure.

  1. More goodies to hunt down! I love their large eye pencils and saw a few that I want to grab. I also am interested in the lipstains that are limited. The formula is pretty nice and easy to wear. I am also going to want at least two of those limited 5 pans. Thanks for letting us know. You are my favorite makeup blog!

  2. OY. I just did a WNW mini-haul when Walgreens had that great sale but MAN some of these items look too good to pass up. That deep purple balm stain makes me think of the new NYX Simply Vamp lip creams, I wonder how it will stack up. And I'm normally a neutral eyeshadow fan, but that cobalt blue in the Venice Vixon looks *awesome*! Thanks for the timely update, G. -- I love having something fun to look forward to!

    1. I would love to, but let me check with my contact at WnW first. Since this is a Walgreens exclusive, that might mean that it will be available at all Walgreens locations nationwide. If that's the case, then we won't need a map. :) I'll keep you posted!!

    1. Omg i was thinking the same thing! They look like amazing shades for lining, don't they??

    2. Daring Downtown is the one I regret getting, all the color in the palette swatch the same to me. Just a nearly black base with different color glitter.

      Delete
    3. I was also really disappointed for the same reason; they all swatched black with very subtle colored shimmer. They also didn't blend very well for me. BUT I never thought to use them for lining! Maybe it's not a wasted purchase after all.

  8. I have about 15 WNW palettes in my collection. Welp, time to add these to my growing WNW collection. I just wish that they would bring back an exact dupe of Vanity. That is my go-to everyday palette :(

  9. I love the look of a couple pallets. Idk yet if I will purchase there, but the deep purply lip balm I think I want to try! Yippee!

    1. Girl, I hear you! Nearest Walgreen's is two hours away! I've seriously considered begging some girls to pick me up some stuff if I send them the $! I'm gonna have to contact all Walgreen's in the nearest metropolitan area and make the trek.

  25. These look just ok to me. What I really want are the Fantasy Maker items! I get them every year. Last year I also got the regular Wet'N Wild Halloween items but they were also more themed toward the holiday. I feel like the colors presented here are more fall generic rather than Halloween only KWIM?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I need to find those LE balm stains. The red and the deep purple may have to join my collection.

  27. OMG!!! I need to find this display!!! I need all of those 5 pans!!! I'm in love with the four L.E. Fall 5 pans that I got recently to the point where I've used at least one every day since I got them! They are beautiful! I absolutely love every single one from this Halloween display! And all the lippie products!!!!! Must have them all!!! I love WnW so much! I hope so much that I can find this display along with the other Halloween display (purple heart lashes, colored mascaras, etc.)!

I feel really bad though - I was calling around and so many people were saying, "We only have the L.E. Megalasts. There are no lipsticks in the display/There is no room for lipsticks in the display." I was like, "No! They are there!!!!!!" <---*pleading voice* I had no idea there was a L.E. Megalast display that was nail polish only! I managed to get 2 of the 4 lipsticks after incredibly extensive hunting. This is where WnW makes me sad; making 2 displays exactly the same but one not having any lipsticks. :( I am still praying that beyond all odds Sunset Siren and Urban Night find their way to me!

I am on hardcore stalk mode where people start giving you weird looks, lol. I don't really care though - they all know what I'm looking for, lol. XD It's all good. I'm a super nice person who is a great customer. If someone helps me over the phone and puts something on hold for me or helps me in-store I ALWAYS do the review at the bottom of the receipt, making sure to mention anyone who helped me. It means a lot to me and I want to give praise to people who helped me! :)

  31. I thought I had heard before that Pink Suga was Fergie's all time favorite lip color from WnW... I have looked for that color in the past but only seen stuff online, now I'm confused that is being shown as LE, could it be an old shade that is just being brought back?

    ReplyDelete

    1. My mistake! Pink Suga' and Rose-bud are NOT limited edition, they are permanent shades. I'm going to update my post now. Thanks for pointing that out! :)

  32. Also, Pink Suga and Rosebud aren't limited edition lipsticks. I don't know if you can get them easily in store, but they are available online at drugstore.com. I own them already, so maybe they're repromotes?

  36. G, Thank You so much for updating this post and letting us know about the the 5-pan dupe. Stupid me would've bought it anyway thinking it had to be different since it has a different name. And more polishes! Yeah! I must get them all. This is the best WNW display I've seen in awhile. And since it is so affordable, I can get everything I want. And yes, please make a map. I'm already on the hunt...

  37. I'll probably get the copycat palette for the formula alone for comparison. Definitely have to snag those polishes and lipsticks.

  38. Omg there is so much I want, but I don't live close to a walgreens! I want the shimmery purple nail polish and the urban nights lip stick.

  40. I found a Creme Eyeshadow Pencil in this display called Brunching Downtown. It's a nice caramel color that I haven't seen in a drugstore product before. Is this shade limited edition??? I can't find anything online about it yet....

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm glad they're improving the eyeshadow formula. Those trios, like Silent Treatment, were great, but I haven't been that thrilled with what they had over the summer and spring. The Melrose quintets for the fall LE are what I want from WnW palettes in terms of pigmentation and texture.

  49. My Walgreens had fake spider webs on this display! It was super cute, but SUCH a pain to shop. My watch kept getting stuck and when I leaned closer to free myself, the sequins on my purse got caught! So embarrassing! LOL. When I finally freed myself I decided on Rising Star and its gorgeous!

  50. Oh my gosh I was so lucky to go to a Walgreens And find a complete Display I bought some stuff yesterday and after I swatched at home I had to go back today and get a backup for the megaslicks 2 a.m., the purple one, because it is bright and super pigmented. Had to get a second one.Have been looking for pink sugar for ever and could not find it anywhere. I was not going to pay more than 5. online for it. I feel that it looks a lot like the mac's limited edition lipstick in pure decoration. Megaslicks in señorita is deep red and PIGMENTED. I need more like this wet and wild.

    2. @ 2003angelface, do you think it's worth it getting Pink Suga? I got Clothing Optional this morning. I know they're only $2, but still, my collection is getting a little overwhelming, lmao!

  51. Whoa love all the lip balms /lipsticks, and this is exclusive to Walgreen? I'm still trying to find the 5 pans that are UD dupes but I feel I'm too late

    ReplyDelete
  52. There are only 5 to 7 Walgreens and maybe one Duane Reede around here... I will to to all of them on a constant basis until I find this display. Those polishes will be mine. And some 5 pans... why not! I need to return the regular line nude 5 pan, bought in error, will get the LE nude instead. Wheel and deal, ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm sad that they're limited to Walgreens, as there's a chance neither of mine will ever get them. (and if they do, they'll remove them when there's a sale, like they do Sinful Colors)

  54. It would make life a whole lot easier if they just told us what stores were carrying them! Lol

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh how I wish it was that easy! Lol! Unfortunately, WnW does not decide which retail locations will carry their collections...that is entirely up to the retailer and out of WnW's control. If you'd like a detailed explanation of the process, give the link below a read. Hope that helps! :)

  57. New York City Ladies-

I haven't seen these in Walgreens yet but they are popping up at a few Duane Reades. I suggest checking in both stores. I found displays at the Duane Reades at 57th St. and 6th Ave (most of the eye shadows were gone but they had some lipsticks, lip glosses, balm stains and nail polishes) and at 90th St and Lexington Ave (most of the items were there and they even had the Fall limited edition eye shadows. The display is at the front of the store). Hope this helps!

  59. I just found an unmolested display in Casa Grande AZ and nothing actually leapt out at me. I did get the balm stain in 2am Call Time and it is the most unattractive shade of purple on me. Anyway, I blotted and blotted all the way down to the stain and it turned a lovely shade of berry/fuschia so it ended up being a good buy anyway. The color is rather like Fergie's Vicious Varnish in Epic, only much easier to apply evenly.

  60. Thanks so much for this. I also didn't see Urban Nights at my local Duane Reade (52nd and Broadway, NYC) when I got some lippies from the Halloween collection this a.m. This is what I copped: Coming in Latte, Clothing Optional and Sunset Stripped MegaLast lipsticks and Pershing Bare and Cinema Glamour MegaSlick lipglosses. Love that I spent $12 and got all that. LOL. Is Urban Nights a dupe of anything in the permanent collection? Cherry Bomb maybe? What about Tangelinos? Looks a bit like NYX's Indie Flick or WNW Purty Persimmon?

    1. Correction to this, Urban Nights was there...I bought it. They have two displays and the 2nd one is unnoticeable. That's where I found it when I went back :/

  62. I have since bought more, in the space of a few hours, yikes. I now have the Urban Nights lipstick, the Please Flash Me! lipgloss and the Wet Cement nail polish (very pretty! love the brush!) I went to Walgreen's Time Square which is HUGE and they don't have any WNW limited edition displays, only the Duane Reade's have them (went to 3 different ones, only Halloween now though, not the Fall). So it's safe to say that maybe the Walgreen's don't have them here...yet? I am so tempted to buy Bare It All, but since it's in the permanent collection I decided to hold off...plus it's very similar to Spiked With Rum which I have.

  63. Ack! I need Happy Hour Hop in my life! I wonder if this display will come to Canada (any Canadians on here spotted these?) I can NOT wait to see swatches!

  64. I went to Walgreens today, and they did not have this display. However, I found 3 of the LE 5-pans in the clearance section (!!!) -- Eastside Enigma, Daring Downtown, and Venice Vixen. I bought the first two. They were priced at 1.00 each! I totally didn't realize they were from this collection, I just thought they looked cool, and though why not for a buck each. I did think they colors looked very Fall to already be on clearance. As far as I remember there were only 3 there, but I didn't see them anywhere else in the store and they were in a very clearly marked clearance section. I didn't see anything else from this collection in clearance or elsewhere in the store. So I guess if you're in Walgreens and looking for this collection and don't see a big display, check clearance areas.

  66. Hello, I really enjoy reading your blog.
I have a question for you. If you compare Venice Vixen to Muse and Carouse, would you find the two matte blue shadows are some how similar? Thank you!!!
