NEW Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Finish Lipstick in 815 Pink Shock
(retail: around $7, 0.13 oz)
Looking at the tube, this looked like it was going to be a pretty opaque creme:
But on the skin, it's actually a sheer, yet very pigmented color that is easily buildable for more intensity:
One application on my lips:
Pigmentation: For a sheer lipstick, I was really surprised by how easily you can build the color. One light swipe yields the first swatch above, but two additional swipes and you see that you've got almost a fully opaque look. I'm very happy with the level of pigmentation and I think you will be too.
Staying power: Just like with MAC Lustre lipsticks, the staying power isn't the greatest. I can get about 1-2 hours of wear from this one, but if I lay it on thick during my initial application, I can still see a slight stain after three hours. Also, this lipstick wears down evenly and does not give me ring-around-the-lips.
Fragrance and flavor: No fragrance and no flavor. If you're sensitive to flavor/fragrance, you should be very happy with this one.
FINAL VERDICT: Very, very happy with this new Shine Finish and I can't wait to try more shades! Fuchsia Shock is like a sheer, glossy, nicely pigmented balm--it's got a very pretty translucency to it, but the pigmentation ROCKS. This is a very, very wearable shade of fuchsia that even those afraid of fuchsia could pull off. Granted, the staying power isn't great, but that's kind of expected when you're talking about a sheer, glossy lip color. Other than that, I'm totally in love with this one. Well done, Revlon!
Do you own any of the new Shine Finish lipsticks from Revlon? Thoughts?

ReplyDeleteDo it! I don't think you'll regret it! :)
DeleteI really want to try them!
ReplyDeleteI am glad for the review G.,thank you! I really love Revlon's everything and was dying to know how these were! I won't hesitate to buy one when I feel in the need for a new lipstick. You know how that can always brighten up a blah day! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is very pretty. With a name like Fuschia Shock I would've thought it would be bright and never would purchase a color with that name. But after seeing these pics, it's very wearable and down right gorgeous! Great review as always, G!
ReplyDeleteOh fun! This looks like a fun lip product for summer; I'll definitely be on the look out for these.
ReplyDeleteNow I must get it! Ive only tried lovers coral and I love it, you should try it g!
ReplyDeleteI want to try that one! I am on the hunt for a drugstore coral that isn't as orange as Siren.
DeleteI think you'll be happy with it. I just picked that one up today, along w/ Honey Bare. I test drove the coral around the house tonight, and I really like it a lot! Doesn't "feel" like lipstick, very light and silky.
DeleteGreat review! One thing, though. In the first picture, you put "NEW Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Finish Lipstick in 815 Pink Shock
ReplyDelete(retail: around $7, 0.13 oz)" and it's actually called Fuchsia Shock! Just letting you know! :)
Oh, I didn't even noticed the new finish (even though some of the creme shades are lovely, I really hated the revlon super lustrous lipstick formula)so I guess I have to give it a try...I am glad there seems to be a coral one!
ReplyDeleteI picked up Lovers Coral from Walgreens today and got a $5 Register Reward after purchase... which means the lipstick cost evens out to only $2! Woot! Guess I'll be going back to pick up another now...
