RECOMMENDATIONS:
I'm not a hardcore Kiehl's customer, so I can't give you a broad selection of recs. However, I have been using select Kiehl's products for years, and I have recently, over the past year or two, fallen in love with a few newer products, so here are some personal recs and things that I'm currently considering purchasing:
Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash for Normal-to-Oily Skin - reg $29; now $23.20
- My pal Stef of weheartthis raved about the Kiehl's Calendula line a while back, so I tried her faves from the line during their last F&F sale. And that's when I fell in love with this cleanser. I have very oily skin, and this cleanser is a dream. It lathers up nicely, it has a lovely scent (like calendula tea) and it removes all of my makeup without stripping my skin or making it feel dry or tight. The best part is that one bottle lasts forever since you only need one pump for your entire face. I am FOR SURE purchasing another bottle during this sale.
Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner - reg $21; now $16.80
- This was another rec from Stef and even though I've never been a devoted toner user, this won me over. It doesn't sting, it doesn't dry out my skin, it removes the last traces of makeup that I may miss during lazy cleansing nights, and it leaves my skin so, so soft without any weird residue or film left behind. I don't know what it is about this toner that my skin loves so much, but it just works incredibly well for me. Also, it smell like calendula tea and I love the calendula flowers floating in the bottom of the bottle.
Coriander Body Cleanser and Body Lotion - reg $22-$25; now $17.60-$20
- I feel like Kiehl's Coriander is one of their most under-appreciated scents. I LOVE this fragrance in both the body wash and lotion, but I never hear anyone talk about it. I've been using these products for years now (since the early 2000s) because the scent is so addicting; it's fresh, herbal and earthy and it smells like nothing else I've ever used. It could be classified as unisex, but I don't find it too masculine (and by "masculine" I just mean that it doesn't resemble a traditional men's fragrance, body wash or body lotion). If you're generally drawn toward fresh, herbal, or earthy scents, I think this is one to consider.
MY WISH LIST:
Butterstick Lip Treatment SPF 25 - reg $19.50; now $15.60
- I've been really into tinted lip balms recently (again) and I've been eyeing these for a while. I'm just trying to decide between Peony and Berry (see swatches here).
Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado - reg $29; now $23.20
- I've had my eye on this one (no pun intended) forever due to all of the raves. Will this finally be my time to take the plunge? If you use this product, I would love to hear from you!

I absolutely love the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (though more in the cooler months, in the summer it feels a bit to heavy for me and I greach for the Origin's GinZing one or the First Aid Beauty Detox Eye Roller) and if you are going to take the plunge (even if you wait to crack it open until fall) I'd recommend it. I would, however, get the smaller size, as you need so little it will go off before you can finish the larger size. Even though it's more per oz for the smaller one, it's throwing money away to get the larger one as you don't use a chunk of it.
ReplyDeleteI noticed this yesterday but forgot to report. I have never tried anything from this line although I see it everywhere. Not sure where to start. I guess body products are easy to begin with. I will check out your recs first. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've used the creamy eye treatment for about 7 years now and LOVE it! I have very dry skin and this is the only thing that gives me a long lasting hydration. I'm not sure how much someone with oily/normal skin would enjoy it though.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you mentioned this as I am running low on my favorite ultra facial moisturizer! I got the avocado eye treatment in a kit during the holidays and I find that it doesn't blend or soak into the skin well that I don't like to use it under makeup. Very odd considering the rave reviews that it gets and I wonder if I got a bad batch but I'm too scared to buy a new one to test out! I would love to hear your thoughts if you end up purchasing! Thanks for the recommendations the lip balm looks lovely
ReplyDeleteI've actually finished a full size of the avocado eye cream. I enjoyed it at night, but it was too greasy for day use. After I finished it, I returned to my Bobbi Brown Hydrating, because I love it day and night, year round.
ReplyDeleteAfter years of using Philosophy Take a Deep Breath moisturizer I recently switched to Kiehl's products because I was tired of makeup pilling over the moisturizer. I have sensitive dry to combination skin and love their Cucumber Herbal Toner, Super Multi-Corrective Cream, and Ultra Facial Cream at night, and their Oil-Free Ultra Facial Lotion for daytime (works as a great primer). Their Fine Line Reducing Concentrate with Vitamin C is phenomenal but unfortunately the high dose of Vitamin C tends to oxidize with my makeup & sunscreen and turns my face orange. If you ever go to a store they're ridiculously generous with giving out samples (or at least in both UTC & Fashion Valley). I feel that their products last a long time so you get a lot of bang for your buck.
ReplyDeleteAfter trying the creamy avocado as samples, I bought the small jar. I like that it doesn't bother my sensitive, allergy prone, watery, contact lens wearing eyes and no real fragrance that I can tell. It's moisturizing but I'm finding that the texture is just too thick for me, and I feel like I'm tugging at my undereye when applying. I also am not fond of creams in jars due to contamination concerns. When I bought my jar, I got samples of the midnight recovery eye concentrate which I'm liking a lot, and bought the full size. It comes in a squeeze tube, perfect consistency, no smell or irritation, and does a great job on my fine lines. Thanks for the recommendations and info about Nordstrom's match, I'll be checking out that body wash!
