Spotted: NEW L'Oreal Voluminous Feline Collection (Mascaras and Eyeliner)

L'Oreal Voluminous Feline collection at Bed Bath & Beyond

So the publicity info for the new L'Oreal Voluminous Feline collection (which you may have seen in the new Ulta catalog or other publications) indicates that this collection is "Coming September 2016". But we all know by now that drugstore collections always have a way of hitting stores a bit earlier than their official release dates!

Thanks so much to readers @MissFiancee on Twitter and @feeduraddictiontomakeup on Instagram for letting me know that they've spotted this new collection in stores (Bed Bath & Beyond and H-E-B, to be exact). Both readers kindly shared some pics with us, so let's take a look! (It should only be a matter of time before this new line is available at all of the usual retailers.)

PLEASE NOTE: this collection is not to be confused with the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara that released in the UK back in the Fall of 2015. I do not know if/when Volume Million Lashes Feline Mascara is coming to US drugstores, but you can purchase on Amazon if you're interested.

@feeduraddictiontomakeup spotted the two mascaras in this collection, Voluminous Feline and Voluminous Feline Noir, at her local H-E-B this week and kindly shared this pic above.

DUPE?

OK so I know I've seen a mascara wand like this before, but I need your help. At first I thought this was like Benefit Roller Lash but not the same...at all. The way that the bristles are in clusters reminds me of Lancome Grandiose (which wouldn't be a stretch since L'Oreal owns Lancome) but if you go to the close-up on the Sephora site, you'll see that the bristles on Grandiose are much shorter, and they're also tapered. So yeah, help me find this dupe, please! I feel like there must be one out there, right?

PS: If you live in South America, Asia, or Europe, you might find the name and packaging of L'Oreal Voluminous Feline to be vaguely familiar...

Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen Feline Blacks Mascara

In various countries outside of the US, the brand Helena Rubinstein (owned by L'Oreal) sells a mascara called Lash Queen Feline Blacks. Above is their waterproof version, and it also comes in a washable formula. It appears that only the name and packaging are similar though, because the brush on this Helena Rubinstein mascara is nothing like the L'Oreal Voluminous Feline mascara (it's made of nylon, not plastic, and no clusters).

Thanks again, @MissFiancee on Twitter and @feeduraddictiontomakeup, for the great sightings and pics. I really appreciate it!

  1. Looks similar to the Maybelline push up drama wand but I don't see a mention of the push up cups they use.

    1. Yeah, Maybelline is owned by L'Oreal too, so this wouldn't be a stretch, but the bristles on the Maybelline Push Up Drama are shorter and also tapered (like Grandiose). :)

    2. I just found it at my local walmart 😁. Bought one.

  2. Are the wands good for no clumping of the mascara? I have sparse lashes so I'm looking for something that will make them look fuller and longer.

    1. It's impossible for me to say, since this is a brand new product and I don't own it. Sorry!

  3. Thanks, G. I'm always so excited for a new L'oreal release! Hopefully Ulta will have this soon. The CVS in my neighborhood doesn't often get new makeup.

    1. You're so welcome, Charlana. I'm guessing that Ulta won't get it until September since that's what's printed in their new catalog, but CVS seems to get Loreal products in pretty quickly so I wouldn't rule them out. You never know! They may surprise you. :)

  4. So what's the difference b/t the two mascaras? They look and sound virtually the same to me...?

    1. If you read the descriptions from the L'Oreal site (I pasted them into my blog post), the Noir has more black pigment. :)

  5. G, I found these at my walmart today. And my walmart gets stuff so late, usually.

  7. I also found this today at my Giant Eagle grocery store in Pittsburgh. With my rewards card, this mascara scanned as $2 off!

    1. say what?! I was just at the GE in South Side today and didn't even think to look there. Next time I'm at the one near me, I'll have to look and see! Especially if it's $2 off!

  8. I bought this at Walmart today in waterproof. I like it! It gives great length, not too wet like NYX doll eyes which I hate for that reason and it is not too dry. The formula holds a curl and gives really nice length. I don't know about volume... it adds some but not like the regular voluminous but I wasn't trying to build it up either. It was not like voluminous butterfly which I hated because all it did was clump on me so after 5 tries I threw it out.

  9. Drove 20 minutes to the closest BBB w/a drugstore to pick this up, grabbed a Noir one and what I thought was the "regular" one, only to realize when I got home it was a WP Noir. Ha! Oh well. Trying it out today and going to an outdoor wedding in 90° temps with 95% humidity so maybe I should just use the WP one anyway, LOL.
