IMPORTANT: code CEW2016 will get you $5 off if you're ordering BOTH boxes. But since shipping is $5 unless you spend $50, that code is like getting free shipping (shipping is $5 for orders under $50).
I have a feeling the drugstore box is going to sell out pretty quickly, so don't wait if you want that one.
Thanks again, Randi, for the hot tip!
The code doesn't work
ReplyDeleteHi G. Unfortunately the five dollar off per box is only if you buy both boxes but thanks so much for the tip. I just picked up both with my points!
ReplyDeleteI just tried to order the prestige box and it wouldn't take the coupon code or get me free shipping! not sure why I copied it exactly :(
ReplyDeleteI'll try again later.
I added the cew drugstore box to my cart and the cew2016 code isn't working.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone! So sorry about that. I tested the code with both boxes in my cart, but since I saw the code listed in BOTH box listings, I thought you could use it with either one. I see now that you have to order both boxes to get the $5 off, so that's like getting free shipping. Thanks so much for the comments and info--I just updated my post! :)
ReplyDeleteYay. Glad you saw my comment. I'm trying to keep busy and take my mind of the fire here.
ReplyDeleteThe code bbshop allowed me to get free shipping even though I just bought one box.
ReplyDeleteTry code "bbshop" for free shipping if you're just ordering 1 of the boxes. Worked for me :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you only want one box, you can use code bbshop for free shipping. I used it yesterday when ordering one box so it still should work!
ReplyDeleteI'm done giving Birchbox my business after the points changes. Luckily, this doesn't get me too excited (I bought both boxes in 2014 and 2015). The mass appeal one is like a Target box (and those are good, but much cheaper, and honestly sometimes better). The prestige one is made up of small samples, many of which I already have. They are making it easy for me to stay away.
ReplyDeleteDo you know why they did the change? They had no choice, they laid off hundreds of employees! I stayed out of respect and love for them and there company! They are going broke! It's ten bucks a month
DeleteI wonder if they fired one of the gals who used to do the sample videos. This month it was just the blond woman.
DeleteIn my opinion, management was making poor decisions and that is what led to the lack of venture capital, lack of profit, and ultimately layoffs.
DeleteBrick and mortar stores have a lot of overhead compared to a subscription business but Birchbox was choosing to focus on those.
They were also emphasizing the men's subscription when it was getting little interest (I went to one of the road trips last year -- the men's side was a ghost town even though they had devoted just as much staff and space to it as to the women's, where the line was like an hour long).
They expanded into Canada and then quit that rather abruptly.
They say they want to compete with Ulta and Sephora but the supply of items in their shop is inconsistent and their prices were often worse than other retailers. Plus, they messed up my orders and sent me incorrect items at a much higher rate than other beauty retailers, and I would sometimes receive items that were nearly expired.
Add that to the fact that they repeatedly sent me products in my monthly box I hated and/or wouldn't use (dry shampoo, texture sprays, shiny face gloss, anything from Harvey Prince), even after I not only filled out the surveys but sometimes separately emailed the customer service to express my concerns, and i just don't feel any loyalty at all.
