MAC Has Lowered the Price of Eyeshadow Pro Palette Refill Pans from $10 to $6

Well MAC is certainly full of surprises right now, eh? First they lower the price of their 9x palettes to $32 (down from $40),  and their 15x palettes to $65 (down from $85). And now this!

Many thanks to readers Nauzi and Nicole for the emails today about this one. I also received the email from MAC this morning and I couldn't believe my eyes! MAC eyeshadow pans are now $6 instead of $10, and this appears to be a permanent price reduction (just like with the palettes).

Also, you get everyday free shipping on all orders at MAC, plus you can enter code MACEXP right now to receive free 2-day shipping on all orders.

AND DON'T FORGET that MAC Large Pro Palettes are just $8 (both single and double-sided), so you can create your own customized palettes for a steal now. I hit pan on Satin Taupe a zillion years ago, so I think I'm finally going to buy myself a new one. Yay!

Thanks again, Nauzi and Nicole, for the hot tips!

  1. Yay for MAC lowering prices a bit :) That's a step in the right direction (at least for us haha).

  2. I think MAC is finally realizing that their products are no longer original, have gone down in quality and thus are losing business to new, innovative, less expensive indie brands.

    1. You got that right. For years their prices went up and their quality down. Not to mention the low inventory of sub-par collections that no longer caused the frenzy they once did. MAC had online beauty communities eating out of their hand and they blew it.

    2. I still love MAC. My first "high end" makeup purchases were MAC and I still reach for my MAC shadows more than any other palette. I love their neutral shades.

  5. Omg! Can't believe it. I sure want to know the reason behind this. It is the same price as makeup geek eyeshadows now. Thanks for the news. I have a MAC palette that I have slowly been filling in and now I am glad I was holding off the purchase.

  7. I'm trying to look at all the shades, and the only one the MAC website will let me look at is All That Glitters... :(

  8. G I would love it if you did a post on makeup you hit pan on. I think with you reviewing and tresting so many things it would be really interesting to see ur most used products. I know I'm a lippie fiend so really get throught a full tube. I bought the sephora set that had Nars Dolce Vida just because my original (that I also got in some sort of sephora favorites set) was down to a lottle nub. Easiest every day lippie for work. Maybe not my #1 favorite lipstick but definitely my most used.

Please consider doing a post like that. I can't be the only one who would love to see it. You can even include lippies, nail polish or perfumes that ur down the last of. So fun

  10. Is this online only or in stores too?

  11. I've haven't been a huge MAC shadow fan simply because 1. Oklahoma City doesn't have a pro store to buy pans from and 2. The pricing. So I was super excited to see they lowered the price, now I can get all those cult shades (Hi, Nylon!) and not break the bank. I also read that the pro discount still works, even at the lowered rate. That'll bring them to under $4 a shadow. For reals about to fill up a palette!!!

    1. Nylon is my favorite shade, and the only MAC shadow I've ever hit pan on.

    2. Cork and Mystery are awesome. I've hit pan a few times on those. Camel too, but that was discontinued.

  12. Also, you are most welcome G! I love your site, it has "saved" me sooo much money. As I like to always say "It's not how much you spend, it's how much you save"!!

  13. Huh. I wonder if this is in response to Color Pop and other online retailers that are so inexpensive? I've never purchased from MAC before, but now I'm tempted ...

  14. HOW is MAC able to do this? Has the company changed locations for their manufacturing plants? What country are their shadows made in?

  15. At $6 a pop, I went ahead a filled up the rest of my palette!

  16. Maybe they are getting ready to launch a new type of eyeshadow product and they need to get rid of the existing ones....who knows.

  17. I was just thinking the other day, why on earth would I pay $15 or whatever for an eyeshadow when I can get it for $6 from Colourpop, which impress the heck out of me. I think Mac is stepping in the right direction...I hope other brand follow especially those rising prices from the drugstore.

  18. I see the fine print says " Offer valid through 11:59 PM SUNDAY, MARCH 20, 2016 on orders shipped to U.S. addresses"?

  19. MAC the OG brand. I had to cancel my Karity order, because of this deal. I went to two MAC stores to swatch all the colors they had on display. Coopering is amazing, I think it will suit all skin tones. Now, I might have to cancel half of my makeup geek order since it hasn't shipped. I'm glad MAC realized they have to reduce their prices, in order to remain relevant in this dynamic industry. So many businesses have taken their customers. Hopefully, other products will be reduced soon, *wishful thinking*.

  20. They also have a frequent buyer program. They asked me to sign up in the store. You get points for each dollar spent and extra goodies.
